Had a brilliant evening in Dodo bar Jomtien tonight. They didnt mind anyone taking pics so some attached. Beer prices are actually lower than normal bars….95 baht for a beer Singh! Well worth a visit.

I arrived from the UK. Usually 30 days. Filled in the horrendous visa application form online and got 60 days stamped in my passport or arrival the other day. All depends where you are coming form and what’s available.

Excellent vehicles, well driven, quick reliable booking system, waited 2 hours for my delayed flight. A few hundred baht is nothing out of the total cost of a 3 month trip to Thailand…. Have used them for at least 10 years after a few “failed” taxi companies one of which broke down on the way to the Airport…. I didn’t say they were better than your company!

I use The Limo Pattaya. They may be a few hundred baht more than others but they are superb. Rate from BKK to Pattaya is 1600 Bt https://www.thelimopattaya.com/booking/

Same here…

They couldn’t organise a piss up in a brewery!

It’s a shame Eva Air are consistently late on their London - Bangkok service. Rarely on time. See here for their performance. Only 10% on time!! https://www.flightstats.com/v2/flight-ontime-performance-rating/BR/68/LHR.

I believe that is a common misconception. Have you never been to a Thai public toilet, or even a toilet in some of the beer bars?

Rescued cave "Wild Boars" boy dies in accident at 17

Typical UK public service. I went to my local hospital last week to book a hearing test. They said 10 months, yes MONTHS, waiting list. Exactly the same excuse, lack of staff, covid etc. So I went private and was seen in 3 DAYS And the same with numerous other public services… -

Yes 8 months to say just a few words. Unfortunately typical of any public service in the UK nowadays. Just look at National Health Service waiting lists, police response priorities, postal services. Took a letter 10 days to reach me today. Alas, UK is a third world place now. -
Some horrendous prices on that site. Saw over 5000 PER night. Admittedly over Christmas.

No! And also because most of my Thai friends, who worked in Gogo bars, returned to the farm and never came back due to Covid I find many Gogo bars to be boring now….same same!
-
Exactly, Why would anyone enter a Gogo bar where the boys are wearing twice as many clothes as I am?!
-
Agreed. It is noticeable that most of the bars that are Farang run are much quieter.

My friends dog, which I regularly looked after, was definitely gay.

My philosophy on these things is always take the money immediately. You never know when the next Song Tau going to run you over!

PM to look into extending tourist visas to 90 days

No mention of anything for the rest of us? -
PM to look into extending tourist visas to 90 days

Am I the only one who is beginning to think that this visa exemption/extension/waiver is only going to apply to Chinese visitors? Are the rest of us going to be stuck with the usual 30 day visa exempt entry, without the extension like last year? -
New Thai Elite Visa Programme DOES target retirees BUT . . .
gerefan replied to PeterRS's topic in Gay Thailand
I once ordered the steak on a business class flight to Thailand with Emirates. As I come from the UK I’m always sceptical about the quality of steaks and would never normally order them when eating out. After I had finished it I asked the hostess who had cooked it as I wanted a word with them. Very defensibly she said they all played a part…. I then explained to her that it was the best steak I had ever eaten and asked her to thank the ‘rest of the crew’ who prepared it. I now always order it and it never fails to impress. -

I used to collect them. Nowadays I don’t bother and take the best deal on offer rather than being stuck with one airline. -
I forgot to say we lived there in the early 1960’s. No aircon!!
-
Definitely. I too lived in Hong Kong for three years. As a fifteen year old the heat and humidity never bothered me, however my parents always complained about it. I remember telling them it was all in the mind….how wrong I was!
