    Thai Pass

If they terminate the Thai Pass how will they be able to continue the Insurance Scam? Wait until you see it for real!

  4. Thailand has two seasons! 1. Hot and Dry. 2. Hot and Wet.
  5. A friend of mine last night went to one of those Morlam concerts on Third Road. It looked packed as usual. Why is that allowed?
  6. Sorry have to disagree. September and October are the wettest months although May and June can be wet. See Pattaya climate and rainfall figures here: http://www.pattayaweather.net/
  7. Is Sauna Mania still open?
  8. What an unbelievable state of affairs. It is no wonder tourists are put off hearing horror stories like this. Lost bungalow booking, lost car rental, lost time with a loved one....for what, a bit of flu. A Thai friend of mine and his ladyboy wife both caught covid in Pattaya a few weeks ago. They were both sent to a hospitel at government expense but had to have separate rooms. I hope you are more successful.
  9. Daydreamer You are not the only one to have trouble with the second test. After 6 or 7 days ( that was the rule in December) I returned to the hospital where I had the first test. I asked about making a booking for the second test and they insisted it had to be done on line. They gave me a QR code but wouldn’t book me in. Went back to my room and tried on line. Eventually after a few hours I thought I’d made a booking but got no confirmation or even acknowledgement. So I turned up on the day and walking to the entrance tripped up over an unmarked step in the car park. Dishevelled, I sat in the queue for over 2 hours until my number was called. That was on the 3 January. Now, nearly 6 weeks later, I am still waiting for the result. Ive lost interest!
  10. Quarantine being reduced by a third wouldn’t help their revenue would it? No doubt it will be amended...in due course.

    Thai Pass

The one I got in December had an arrival date clearly written on it. If yours hasn’t got an arrival date then I am guessing it means you need to arrive by 20 March. Nowadays the pass is valid for 3 days after your expected arrival date to allow for delays. Does that add up?
  12. I have no idea why they cannot take cards. Someone else I know is currently also sending a friend to pay. The room was large and quiet. Plenty of free water and toilet rolls etc. Bed comfy.
  13. I also used the Venue for the Test and Go. Just one night stay in December. The Thai pass website is now recommending direct bookings with hotels to save time and complications. Unfortunately I cannot find the link again. I did book direct with The Venue and all went well. They collected me from the airport and we went via Jomtien Hospital for a quick PCR test. I got the result next day. Only problem is The Venue does not accept cards for pre payment. I got a friend to drop in and pay for me.
  14. Put them In hold luggage
  15. Stupid Gossip. Dont believe it. You will be ok
  16. After several years using Emirates I stopped using them due to the great distances transferring. However as Eva has stopped operating LHR to BKK I went back with them. Last month I flew Emirates LHR to BKK and can conform there was a huge trek between terminals.
  17. Yes it is a change of aircraft. It might be some distance to the next gate so check when you arrive.
  18. In Pattaya most bars are open until 11 pm. Gogo are closed still. They may be open in BKK. Karoake and night clubs are closed in Pattaya massage places are open.
  19. Londoner. Your post promoted me to look at Emirates website. In Mid June they have flights departing LHR at various times in the evening surrounding the usual Eva departure time of 2130. Agreed there is a stopover enroute but it is only about 1.30 hour However a few things to think of: If you want to go business class fares are currently £2455 return (assuming a one month stay) and secondly all legs are on the A380. If, you have not flown on it I would highly recommend it is Business. You’ll never look back! You can even leave your seat and sit in the bar for as long as you like! And don’t forget Emirates sends a car to collect you from home and take you to LHR. Same or arrival at BKK and same on return flights to LHR. I don’t think you’ll get that in business on Eva. Finally, they have an excellent track record of keeping to their schedule, unlike Eva.
  20. What a load of old tosh. Why the hell does an applicant have to send everything to a hotel only for them to send it on to the Thai Pass people? The applicant has to send it to them anyway. And why within 30 hours ffs? Then what about the second hotel 5 days later? Is it any wonder hardly anyone is bothering? TIT

    Thai Pass

I do not understand the question. You must book an approved SHA Hotel. The booking will include transport from the airport direct to your hotel and test either at the hotel, or at the hospital on they way to the hotel. After you have passed the test you are free to travel anywhere. You need another hotel and test after 5 days.
  22. I would recommend Emirates or Swiss. Have used both recently. You should watch Departure and Arrival boards for your selected airline and flights. That will give you an indication of cancellations before booking.
  23. Surely if the flight is scheduled to land after midnight the stamp should be the ACTUAL date of arrival?? an equally if it is scheduled to arrive just before midnight, and is delayed, the stamp should be the next day? I can imagine spending some time arguing this at Immigration as I don’t leave the desk untiI I personally check the stamp and expiry date!
