https://www.thelimopattaya.com/rates/ 1600 baht from anywhere in Bangkok to anywhere in Pattaya. I have used them for many years and thoroughly recommend them. Dont be put off by the term limo! It’s just a good car.

Went out with some friends for a meal this evening in Jomtien but as it’s Election Day tomorrow no alcohol.😟☹️ Anyway after they left I went looking and then remembered a home run bar a mile or two away…off the beaten track. So walked there and she was just about close. So I bought 3 large bottles to drink on a bench outside. Decided it might be difficult to walk back (!) so drank one there and am sitting on my balcony now finishing the others. Job done!! Always the same on these daft days….just need to find somewhere away from the crowds.

That’s the trouble. I’d love to go to Soi 12 and see what goes on but at 2 a.m. I’m already full of beer and wouldn’t be able to cope!

Paralyzed British Man Falls to Death from Pattaya Condo
gerefan replied to reader's topic in Gay Pattaya
There was a paralysed guy living a few doors from my room who wheeled himself to the window at the end of the corridor and managed to get himself over the low railing. It was very moving to see the wheel chair in the corridor afterwards… -
I have to say that the Bolt Taxis are so good and very reasonable in price that I use them instead. They are very quick to arrive and unlike the Baht bus they are never full(!) they are obviously more comfortable and if I’m paying for three people not that much more expensive. From Jomtien to Boyztown it is usually 68 baht. (I get a discount for some reason). And finally you are unlikely to be pickpocketed.

Standing on the rear platform is illegal. Yet another law rarely enforced. TIT ….

I recall a few years ago new Somgtaew regulations were bought in. They required them to have route numbers and destinations displayed (like any other regular bus). Also they were only permitted to stop at designated bus stops which were painted along the various routes. What happened? TIT….it just all got ignored by the drivers and we are right back at square 1. Nothing displayed and stop anywhere!
-
And make sure you have the correct amount of money. I have seen several passengers get off and pay with 50 or 100 baht notes and the driver has just driven off! Even saw one farang yelling that the driver had just driven off with his 1000 baht note.

If the reporter was genuinely concerned about the city’s image about public health and as a family friendly destination the last place he should report his findings to are a local rag…

So what about all the thousands upon thousands of tourists who stay for the 60 days or in many cases much longer and are on essential medication?

In my time in Thailand I have seen too many young gay men die. Statistically far exceeding what you would see in a western country. In these cases it was drug abuse, alcohol abuse and HIV. sorry quote not included in my post! Even though I only visit Thailand two times a year for about 4 months (but have been doing so for nearly twenty years) I have always been surprised at the number of boys I know who have died. Some from Sunee Plaza in the good old days, and also from Boyztown. As well as the above causes I know one who was killed on a motor bike. I’m sure there must be more motor bike accidents.

In answer to your ordinal question HornOne. Lock everything in the locker they allocate you…especially money, phones, watches etc. And use the tab they give you to put they locker key around your wrist. If you want to buy anything, like drinks or food, they they ask for your key number and you then pay for everything on checkout. You won’t need any money whilst in the sauna. As well as the key to a numbered locker they will give you a towel which practically everyone wears around the waist. I also make sure I wear sandals when I visit which I can also wear walking around the place.

What happens if you book a Bolt taxi from the airport to Pattaya and you flight is delayed? Will he wait? Will he charge extra? I always use Pattaya Limo and on a few occasions the flight was 2 hours late. The guy was waiting and there was no extra charge. Would Bolt do the same?
-
https://www.thelimopattaya.com/rates/ Impeccable service. Always on time. Costs about the same as a regular taxi so don’t be put off by the name Limo. used them only yesterday to go to Savnabhumi airport. All went well. I have actually been using them for over 10 years. Never had a problem.

The closing of both Babylon and Soi Twilight are the main reasons I hardly ever visit Bangkok nowadays.

I guess this is just for leaving Thailand and not for entry to Thailand?

Going to Thailand again - a few questions from Numazu
gerefan replied to numazu's topic in Gay Thailand
I arrived at Swampy this afternoon and the fast tracks were all active, just as in the past. Went through in less than 3 minutes. There were long queues for those who didn’t qualify. -

Are you sure about that? I thought I read that some were still in action. Anyway, I’m going tomorrow so I will find out! -

I always use a taxi to travel to/from the airport. It’s quicker, it’s more comfortable, you don’t have to walk/ travel extra miles to your accommodation, reliable and waiting for you, no queueing, and it runs on time. OK it costs 7 times as much (about 1300 baht) but that’s only 3/4 of the cost of short time off! After 5,500 miles travelling I’m not going to pinch pennies on 1300 baht. By the way the same distance in the UK would cost you about 7000 baht, so it’s no contest! -
Can anyone recommend an Audiologist in Pattaya or Jomtien? I need to have some wax removed but cannot get it done here before I leave for Thailand next week. Many thanks.

I usually stay 3 months December - March and one month in July. No problem renting a room for those periods in VT 2.
-
I rent a condo in VT 2 opposite Jomtien Complex. Inside the condo there are three agencies which rent out rooms. I use one of them which was recommended to me I assume other condos have similar arrangements. Problem would be finding out their contact details….maybe a lot of googling will do it.

Thailand will require Electronic Travel Authorization for all travelers
gerefan replied to reader's topic in Gay Thailand
If he application forms are anything like the existing visa applications it will be terrible. The visa applications are sometimes virtually impossible to complete and the instructions are written in appalling English. It has certainly put me off applying and I now visit Cambodia for a few days instead. If as it says it is to be used to trace foreigners then there will probably be a requirement to advise where you intend to stay complete with confirmation from the hotels or condo renters. More buarocracy. No doubt they will want copies of passports flight tickets and probably bank accounts as they did for 60 or 90 day visas. I am dreading the whole thing. -
I use this company. Cannot fault them. https://www.thelimopattaya.com/
