When will Thailand open to Tourists- question/speculation?
TotallyOz replied to floridarob's topic in The Beer Bar
I do think so. Some may close permanently but if there is a market they will return. Too many people visiting to not take advantage. I heard Sunee Plaza was closing for 20 years. Still here but maybe not in its former glory but holding on. -
I didn't even think to ask what it was they used. If that is what it was, I can see how people get addicted as I was out quick and felt great. You are right, the procedure was easy. The cleanse was time consuming but the rest easy.

Come on dude. Everyone grew a little during Covid. I think I have gained 20 pounds. I'm sure his cock just took on the extra inches based on so much non-use. Right?

I don't think September will be a time for visit. If you are willing to stay in quarantine hotel for 2 weeks and then enjoy a vacation, you will be fine. But, getting a flight in is hard right now.

When will Thailand open to Tourists- question/speculation?

What I can tell you is that for the month of August, it is almost impossible for those with work permits to get into the country from the USA. There is a cadre of steps that one must go through to get here and then be quarantined. December is four months away and I do expect there will be some loosening. However, the Thais are not happy if some one gets in with Covid putting all at risk. I'd gamble that if that happens (and it will) all relaxations will be ceased and the borders closed again. But, that is just my opinion. Friends in Thailand now, including myself, do not plan on travel until mid next year for fear of getting blocked out. I have a wedding to attend in NYC in December, I don't plan to attend and I am the godfather of the bride. I'll send some money to help with the wedding but my presence is not something I can give right now. I have 3 friends in quarantine hotels right now and they are doing fine. They are checked multiple times daily and their accommodations are fine. But, who wants to spend 14 days in one room? I don't see that as being lifted anytime soon. As Boy69 said, I don't think anyone knows and it is all speculation. All the above is my best guesses based on reports from friends. How is Mexico? -
Ake and Ton are at the top of my lists.

Good luck getting in. Most flights are not happening at all until Aug 31st (extended from July 31). There is a required 14 day quarantine that is guarded and you are not allowed out of the hotel or room and you have to pay for that. You can't even get a ticket until you test negative of Covid 72 hours before flight and have special paperwork. That is all through Aug. Not sure what will happen in September. I'd make sure not to get any air ticket that is 100% refundable. Malls are normal. Night markets are not happening yet. Gogo's are about 1/2 open with little to now customers. Just an FYI, for the repatriation flights, there is no refund. If you don't make it, you loose your money. Odd right?

I can't even see the needle go in my body or I pass out. Yep, wimp here. I can't imagine watching this on TV. I would not have needed the anesthesia.

Reminds me of my first colonoscopy, the doctor opened up my butt, I said, "am I going to get paid for this?" He didn't find it amusing at all.

LOL You must not look at too many sites.

I have been there a few times. Their new location is nice but took a bit to find. Here are some of the boys from this week from their LINE account!

I had an appointment early this week for a Colonoscopy. I have not had any issues but being over 50, I wanted to get one to check for any issue. I wanted the insurance to pay for it so I got a pre-approval for 79,500 baht which is what the doctor said would be max. I spent one night preparing. I had to take Dulcolax at 7PM the night before and then AirX at 3AM. I also had drink PEG solution from 2-4AM. All of this was the night before and cleared out my system. It was a bit uncomfortable as I went to the toilet 20 times. But, I preferred to do this at home. The other option was to do the procedure in the afternoon and spend 4 or so hours in hospital preparing. I chose to do the night before. I got to the hospital at 7:30, checked in, left my wallet and cell phone with receptionist, and went back to the area to dress and prepare. They inserted a needle in my hand for the anesthesia. I opted to do the surgery with anesthesia (though they didn't say there was another option as I told them in advance this is what I needed). The doctor checked on me, they took me to the room, had me lay on the table on my side, hooked up all the vitals signs equipment and pulled the back of my pants down. The doctor talked to me for a minute and said not to worry, and I fell asleep. I woke up in recovery room. After 20 minutes, they brought me Au Bon Pain and coffee, juice and water. When I felt OK (around 30 min) I got dressed and waited for doctor. He met with me within 5 minutes and gave me a packet of photos of my ass and hole (I think he thought I wanted this for Grindr or something). I then checked at cashier and signed some paperwork. I was on the road before 11:30. So, in total, 4 hours in hospital. No pain. Two good doctors. Multiple nurses. I felt well taken care of and comfortable the entire time. I had no issues at all and was happy to get this test out of the way. Total cost: 35,000 baht. That is well under what the insurance had approved. I would give this place a 5 out of 5 star rating. The experience and professionalism were excellent and the level of English of EVERYONE I encountered was excellent.

I really enjoyed this one! -
I have had a friend book 3 flights to Thailand and all were cancelled. They will get vouchers but on three different airlines. What a waste. I agree, a big risk.
-
My friend from Chicago was quoted 9,000 USD for an economy ticket to Thailand!

Right now, the only flights allowed in are the approved ones by the government. I had friends who had tickets on Qatar next week and had a quarantine hotel but they can't take that flight from USA and have to wait for the consulate in their area (LA) to book the flight for them on an approved flight. It is not as easy as some think. It is what I call a PITA. But, thank goodness I'm here and can say hello to all the boys for you guys.

I liked the NYT article. Now, I have to order a few books to read! Thanks.

I guess I didn't write much of it in the past few years which is a shame. I have been there over 300 times. It is one of my favorite places. I have Thanksgiving there each year. They have it done up buffet style just like in the USA. It is a hard ticket to get as you have to arrive early. It is the best American Thanksgiving in Bangkok. I have also ordered the entire feast from them several years. They prepare a whole turkey with all the fixings. I lived across from the place for one year and went there at least weekly. Tuesday nights, they have a Mexican buffet (all you can eat). Check the site for details. But, their food is excellent and the place has great staff. I have probably eaten there more than any other place in Bangkok. When I get invited to a party, I order a whole pecan pie. It is 1,000 baht but always the rave of the party! They deliver to me. They delivered the entire Thanksgiving meal last year and I enjoyed it for a week.

It was a fluke for me. I was meeting friends at Bourbon Street for their Breakfast. I love that place! And, they suggested we try a new place that had been delivering to them during Covid19. I went and tried it and was not only impressed with the food but the work they put into making this a beautiful place to eat. The prices were reasonable but I had leftovers for 3 meals. All were excellent. I wanted to try the Bacon Cheesecake but I was full! Next time.

It was Friday night. Busy might have been over selling. People there and not dead was more accurate. There were quite a few tables in all those places occupied on Soi 4. Jupiter wasn't busy but not empty. Better than I have seen in a long time. I have not been back since Friday but it made me optimistic and glad to be here as I know there are tons of sexy guys there all waiting for me!

I ate at a new place this week called Ash Kickers. They have great dinners but they are also serving breakfast on weekends. I had the sausage and biscuits with brisket. It was delicious. The food was excellent and the location was easy to find. It is down the same soi as Bourbon Street, Soi 63, Ekkamai BTS (not an easy walk but possible). The owners are lovely and from the USA and they have spent a great deal of time renovating this place and getting things just right. Tasty food and it will become a regular for me! https://www.ashkickersfoods.com From their FB Page: 100% Wood Smoked BBQ The culinary tradition of cooking meat low and slow over indirect flame is the true definition of barbecue and has been rooted in American culture for hundreds of years. In Jupiter, they had a nice group but NOT many. Hot Male was about the same. Fresh Boys I was the only one in there for 30-40 min and I left the place empty.
