  1. Go to Boytoys.com and you will find volumes of information on Brazil. It is reasonably safe if you follow the rules set out by someone who has been there a 100 times without a problem. At the beginning of the Forum. Is it as safe as Thailand. Probably not but few places are. Most of your questions will be answered on that site . If you like skinny twinks stay in Thailand especially if your trip will be short and you don't have a month to search.
  2. Check PM?
  3. I had no problem on Hornet.
  4. Doubt it! Maybe at Boys but nowhere else! They might want but rarely get anything close to that.
  5. Just a few things to do besides SEX. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractions-g303506-Activities-Rio_de_Janeiro_State_of_Rio_de_Janeiro.html
  6. Rio is like many places ..There are tourist restaurants that can be expensive but lots of reasonable places also. Also Brazilian food is much closer to Western Food then Thai food. Beaches are as good as anywhere in the world . I don't like the Sauna scene which is why I no longer visit along with the fact that although twinks are available they are harder to find. Fabulous sightseeing to do and tourist activities , far more choices then Thailand IMHO. I also believe no Visa needed for Thais so you could always bring a date.

+1 I missed it also and will do that next trip
  8. I would never criticize anyone for being too generous unless he was a new visitor and had no knowledge of the minimum acceptable price. There are some first time visitors that go to the escort section on Planetromeo and might think 2500-5000 is the norm , especially when that is still far less then their home country. They deserve to have information on the accepted norms and then they can decide the amount that is appropriate. But just information not criticism!

All I can say is that the station must be really old station with ancient pumps. I have driven from Florida to Maine and stopped many times and have never not been asked for the zip code in the last 2 years. However I cannot remember the last time I was asked for ID in the USA when using my cc unless it was a very large purchase so not sure what that says except there must have been lots of fraud at gas stations. Plus in any of these stores that require you sign on the reader , you can scribble anything.

Really although I rarely use a debit card in the USA, I am quite sure you must use a pin or charge cannot be made. Sounds like banking in Austria is behind the times. Many places such as gas stations ask first is this a CC or a Debit card . If a debit card you must type in your pin and if a CC you must put in the zip code associated with the card. Otherwise no gasoline.

Very interesting Irish but it does seem to me that they are doing a lot to stop these things. All my current cc's alert me as the card is swiped or the number used and I do mean simultaneously . As I swipe the card through a terminal , my phone alerts me to the swiping of the card. Also I have been contacted a number of times on suspicious purchases where they were made online and the company stopped the sale and called me to ascertain if I had approved the purchase. The fact that Thai ATM cards can be used as a CC adds an extra element of danger which I had not considered and having the name on the card does not seem to be any extra protection unless you are dealing with a seller that demands identity which of course many do not.

I would still like to know what protection if any the bank provides against theft of the card in Thailand if anyone happens to know. It might change the way I carry my card if there is in fact no protection.

Actually on thinking about it , I remember my Kasikorn ATM cards can be used like a CC. Completely different then in the USA. I have no idea what protection the bank provides against a stolen card in Thailand but I would guess there is some protection or else everyone in Thailand is walking around with a ticking time bomb in their possession.
  15. Nice for someone else who has been to Brazil to chime in. However since there are at a minimum of 5 members who have been to Brazil multiple times, I wonder if there are more who just never bother posting. This is certainly not the first thread started on Brazil and this site may be called Gaythailand but there have been hundreds of threads on other countries so the name does not restrict the fact that basically this site exists to discuss SEX.

I'm still waiting for someone to tell me that they have an atm card where a Pin is not needed. I don't believe there is such a thing. I'm also waiting for someone to tell me that they have a CC where a simple call to the company does not erase the bogus charge immediately. I have done this numerous times all around the world. Cards from every bank and AMEX, Diners etc all protect you against unauthorized charges . At most you can be liable for a very small amount of money. Happened to me recently. Someone used the card to purchase stereo equipment online. 1 call charge was erased and I assume the crook gone after. Bottom line the story makes no sense ,as far as actually losing anything , unless it was an ATM card and the person had the pin.

I am confused what a bank card is that you refer to. ATM card is useless unless you were stupid enough to give him your pin. If it was a cc then you call the company and report the fraud and you lose nothing. I never heard of a CC where your name is not on it . I don't get the whole report.

You might be right that the visitors could be inflated but even at 1/4 of what is shown would be far more then members. Maybe Michael will chime in because I am sure he knows where those visitors listed might come from.

    Gay forums

On all of the Forums if you just scroll to the bottom you will see how many members have been on in the last hour and also how many visitors. There are always many more visitors then members , sometimes 20x as much. This information is available on all the Forums and is updated continuously . There are many visitors every day that I assume are looking for information without having to register . So the things we discuss are read and believed or not believed by far more people then ever post anything.
  20. I think we pretty much know it now that all the video has been released both at the gas station and the returning jerks going thru securities at the Village with their phones , wallets etc and laughing . I don't blame Brazil for going after them . The young ones should be banned for the next Olympics IMHO . Lochte will suffer in the pocketbook as all his sponsors will run away from him and it will cost him millions. Here is a pretty even handed report by a respected US journalist. Certainly Brazil is a 3rd world country with a corrupt government but with a few days to go they have pulled off a successful Olympics ( which I seriously doubted they could) which is and will continue to be the biggest event in the World every 4 years. Hopefully the corrupt IOC will never return to a 3rd world country. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/news/starring-now-in-brazils-theater-of-the-absurd-ryan-lochtes-one-act-play-of-stupidity-034033651.html
  21. Nothing defensive about it. You throw out a bunch of BS hoping nobody notices it is BS. I would say the same thing if you throw out BS about Thailand but when you try to throw out BS about a country you have never been in , then it is just BS. It's like a friend telling me about how dangerous Thailand is to visit because of the coups, riots . They are ignorant and you are ignorant about Brazil and things like tickets for the Olympics etc.
  22. You just don't know what you are talking about. I have been to 2 Olympics. You have to buy ticket packages which means you pay for events that have no broad interest and which I did not attend and so those type of events you will see lots of empty seats. There are no empty seats at BB, Swimming, Gymnastics, Soccer etc. The seats in front of most of those venues or for Officials.special guests etc and when their country is not competing the seats are empty. Bottom line you just don't know what you are talking about. I love Thailand but they would be hard pressed to put on a Major Tennis Tournament. And the government such as it is = Military Generals who can't even agree when to allow the citizens to vote.
  23. Interesting how you never reply when you make ridiculous assertions and someone calls you on them. Throw in a sentence about impeaching the President and don't reply to the fact that Thailand does not impeach, they just send the military to take over the GOVT. Which do you think is better? If any Govt should not be able to criticize another government , Thailand would be near the top of the list. I was in Thailand during 2 of the coups and it was not a pretty place.
  24. Old BS. The athlete village is fine . Netherlands had a problem on arrival and went to a `Hotel and 2 days later moved back into the Village where most of the competitors stay. Trying to make things worse then they have been is just ridiculous . And as far the President being impeached better then the country you are living in where the military has to take over the country over and over again because of complete corruption. Yes in many ways it is a 3rd world country who should never have been given the Olympics but they are on their way to pulling it off without any serious incidents. Just imagine if it was Thailand trying to put on that kind of event.
