  1. Thank you jimmie50 IMHO you have hit the nail on the head. From my maybe limited understanding, and having brought this up with a couple of the barboys, I imagine that most of the takings remain in management's pockets. Of course there could be an advantage to giving a sob story to a client in order to try to obtain a few more hundred baht, but I am sure that without being offed, you will not be getting a satisfactory financial reward.
  2. If you can handle the heat, Quarter Saladaeng is certainly within walking distance of the bars. I have had very good rates there too when booking through Agoda. Quarter Silom has the advantage of being just a hop, skip and a jump away from my preferred bars, but I find the restaurant and pool areas quite sterile there and I much prefer the layout at Quarter Saladaeng. I have found their restaurant staff to be very friendly too.
  3. I have stayed at Quarter Saladaeng a few times and have been upgraded twice. The first time I had a separate bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen and a lounge area. It was a bit of an anticlimax to be in a regular room on the next visit. I enjoy their breakfasts, even though some of the board members here are not quite as enthusiastic. I like the ambience of QS too. It's nice to be able to take your breakfast outside and sit by the swimming pool if you want to.
  4. A great description of your adventures in Pattaya, sudoxi. Thanks very much. You certainly made the most of your time. May I please ask what app you used to translate from Russian? I'm after a good app to use in Thailand. Cheers.
  5. Thanks very much for the post, Shax. It's bittersweet to get the report about Tawan and Atlas. I had high hopes for Atlas, as the lineups were good when I visited, so it's disappointing that they seem to not be living up to the hype. However, it's good to know that Tawan has been invigorated. I have intermittent contact with someone who has ditched Atlas to return to Tawan. He said that the manager at Atlas is "crazy". Shax, are you able please to name the bodybuilder you offed from Tawan. I offed 2 bodybuilders from Atlas and I am wondering if either of them are now at Tawan.
  6. I don't know about clubs, but there are a couple of bars you might like to consider Tawan was THE bar to go to for muscle boys back in the day, but it has lost some of its appeal recently. I would try Atlas in the first instance, but it's only my personal opinion and I wouldn't cross Tawan off altogether.
  7. I have made it a habit to book Quarter Saladaeng for my first few nights in Bangkok. I have been upgraded twice to the one bedroom accommodation, which I appreciated so much. Yes, the basic rooms are quite small, but adequate. It's usually much better priced than Quarter Silom too, but further away from the action.
  8. Last year when I was departing for the airport, I approached a taxi driver and asked how much the fare would be to the airport. He told me that it would be 3000 baht. If I had been a first time visitor to Thailand, I could have easily been sucked in.This year I ordered a Bolt taxi, which arrived within a couple of minutes and the fare was very reasonable.
  9. I work with several Indians, many of whom are from Kerala. They eat traditional Indian diets and I have never noticed body odour from any of them. When you have BO, you tend to be unaware of it. I remember the old jingle:"Don't wait to be told, you need Palmolive Gold." In my early days of bodybuilding I would often eat up to 3 cans of tuna a day - until I was told one day that I stank of fish. Needless to say that I have completely avoided fish ever since.
  10. That's good news. So maybe Tawan will be back on my agenda when I next return to Bangkok.
  11. I'm sure that Dee is the one with keloids on his chest. I had never heard of keloids either.
  12. Really, Olddaddy, I have flown from Sydney to Bangkok. It takes 9 1/2 hours - roughly 6 hours longer than to Alice Springs.
  13. I mostly go downstairs to the taxi rank, as I don't know how to travel light and it's a hassle to lug luggage around You get a number which gives you an allocation for the taxi. The cost should be about 600 baht. I have used the train twice, without luggage, to go to meet people at the airport. It's very straightforward. From the airport you travel to Makkasan, then follow the crowds to walk a fairly short distance to Phayathai station. Get the train which goes to National Stadium and change at Siam station and get the train from there to Saladaeng on the Silom line, which goes to Bang Wa. Someone please simplify it if I have made it a bit complicated. If you are reasonably fit and can handle the heat, it's a walkable distance to Ibis Styles from Saladaeng station. The good thing going from the airport is that you should be able to get a seat. Going to the airport can be a lot more difficult because people are usually packed in like sardines. The SIM cards are useful if you want to order a Bolt or Grab taxi or use Google maps, etc, otherwise just use the hotel WiFi. Vinapu, can you please tell me how much you pay for your SIM card? I have a separate Thai phone, keep the SIM card in there and top it up when I arrive. It would probably be easier just to use one phone which can take both cards.
  14. I am seriously thinking of visiting Arena before I go home. Please could you inform me whether it is cash only or whether some parlours will accept cards?
  15. And then seeing how he is. Does he kiss well? How hot is he? What things can we do together? Is there some kind of connection? Kissing is the number one erotic activity for me. Knowing that you also are interested in the Atlas boys, may I add that the ones I have offed have been keen to oblige.
