Headed out in on Thursday to BKK and excited for the adventures that lay ahead. While there are several of the massage places I intend to hit up, I was wondering if any of you had recommendations of places that actually give Thai massages. All of the places I’ve seen do aroma or coconut milk massages… with that said, I assume the majority of us on here are not going for the massage and I’ve read many posts on here that talk about how the massages are “okay” or “satisfactory” but the happy ending or sex is great. Preparing for our trip to BKK in two weeks, I made reservations at a couple of the spas, one of them being Omen. Hubby and I found our preferred therapists and wanted to make sure they were available for the date and time were available. Booked it via their Line account. Super friendly and accommodating online, but there is a little bit of a language barrier. after booking, they shared that the location is small, and they hope we don’t mind that (to which we said we didn’t). They mentioned there is a bathroom in each room with shower (was hoping the therapist would be assisting in the cleanup phase), they respect privacy, etc. etc. but the one comment that threw me for a loops was when he was describing the location, he said “But I don't care about cleanliness”. Hubby and I are headed to Bangkok in three weeks and found this forum this weekend. Thank you to EVERYONE for everything that you have added. I feel like I have a better sense of the lay of the land (pun intended). I do have a question about tipping at the spas. Assuming I’ve read things correctly, there is the standard room rate for a massage and that there is a minimum tip, depending on the therapist. That tip generally covers the massage and the happy ending, correct? Then if there is oral (from either of us) there is an additional tip. If he “finishes” that’s an increased tip and if it’s a Full Service (I see the therapist listed as top or T&B), then it’s an increased tip on that. Assuming all of this is discussed and agreed upon onece in the room with the therapist. also, tips are given directly to the therapist and the room charge/massage rate is given to the manager after services rendered. do I have this right?
