Why is the Chang Mai forum dead?
Department_Of_Agriculture replied to 12is12's topic in Gay Thailand
The nicest thing about the supposedly overly spread out, overly sedate Chiang Mai scene is how it deters the worst sort of sex pests from visiting and now the worst sort of sexpats from settling. Chiang Mai is charming and the absence of these people is part of its charm. -
When Tawan first opened, which was either at the very end of 1986 or the beginning of 1987, it was located on Surawong Road, opposite the Tawana Hotel, which at that time was still the Tawana Sheraton. It was on the 1st floor, not the ground floor It wasn't a muscle bar in the beginning, That only started a few years later. In the beginning it was just regular guys of the type you found in Bangkok bars in those days, including a few guys who would not meet the current minimum age for working in a bar. It was a couple of years before the bodybuilders first started appearing and, even then, it was a mixed crew of muscle men and regularly guys. It was a gradual shift to becoming a muscle man bar. Tawan only moved to Soi Tarntawan at the beginning of the 90s - it was either in 1990 or 1991 - into that building in your picture , but it was quite a different place then - much smaller. Originally, it only occupied half of that building and it used to be very blue on the inside. It was some years before it expanded to take over the whole building.

Indeed there was - and they would certainly know a thing or two about "invading and occupying other nations and being proud about it." So much so, the oppressed and frustrated natives of Pai are now referring to their town as "Pai-les-tine". https://www.pattayamail.com/thailandnews/pai-les-tine-phenomenon-israeli-influx-causes-concern-in-mae-hong-sons-pai-district-491322 The Bangkok Post also adds that "there could be as many as 30,000 Israelis living in the area — easily outnumbering the town's 21,000 local residents." and that "a number of businesses in the town, including several motorcycle riding schools, are illegally operated by Israeli citizens." What finally got the media's attention was "One incident saw four Israelis break into and vandalise Pai Hospital's emergency room." Pai used to be great fun. So laid-back. It sounds like the Israeli invasion has turned it into a real crap hole, though.

Well, this is an amusing post. Here we have a former Sunee bar owner saying exactly what I said in my 2023 post and yet for actually daring to say it out loud, I was rewarded with 6 red arrows from the Sunee fans. Hilarious. As I said: Sunee Plaza began to die when the police finally began to get serious about cracking down on underaged boys in the bars and those who used to hang around that area, generally. No, not all the bars in Sunee offered underaged boys and not everyone who went there was into that sort of thing but Sunee was a hotbed of that kind of thing. Once the police started cracking down in earnest, the gaps started showing very quickly.

That book was written a long time ago - 2008 according to Amazon - and he stopped doing walking tours a long time ago. Chai Pinit eventually opened the Scorpion beer bar on Soi Twilight in 2011 that was towards the back of the soi, past Ocean Boy. Another beer bar soon opened next door to him but then they merged under the Scorpion name and he was part-owner. He used to sell copies of Bangkok Boy at Scorpion. He sold the Scorpion bar a couple of years later and it was renamed something else that slips my mind. It was more fun with Chai there though. He was still to be seen in Soi Twilight and Patpong for some time after that, but I haven't seen him around for ages. As far as the authenticity of his memoir goes, he said that the English ghost writer added a lot of exaggeration. He didn't make very much from it either. Apparently the contract that he signed with the publisher was not favourable to him - or so he said, anyway.

No surprise that the first "like" on this idiotic post came from some fellow who regularly seems to speak out of his distended rear end. Birds of a feather flock together. Idiots give likes to idiotic comments. 👇👇👇 -
The effects of drugs in gay community's
Department_Of_Agriculture replied to Olddaddy's topic in Gay Thailand
I would really love to see the police do a sting and sweep of everyone on the apps who is openly advertising the sale and/or use of these drugs. Considering that these people are openly advertising their criminal activity, it would be a very easy thing to do. The only reason that they haven't is because it will lead to screams of "homophobia" by the drug users and the "I can shoot a rainbow out of my arse" brigade. The lack of enforcement has allowed this scourge to become embedded in the gay scene, with devastating effect. It is time for a crackdown - a global crackdown. The owners of the apps who are allowing this to flourish on their platforms ought to be arrested and the apps ought to be seized. The dealers ought to be traced, which should be easy enough given the electronic links and conversation records. Time for a crackdown. Those who will screech about this being homophobic are the biggest danger to the well-being of men on the gay scene. -
As a geriatric who can barely swallow the food that he eats but nonetheless still flies 6,000 miles to be sodomised, I should hope that you are heeding your own advice

My dear dimwit, Delaney's is not next door to anything as it is no longer in existence, as I pointed out. It was in the same row as Screw Boy - which is, of course also no longer a name to be found there. Delaney's was a 10 a second walk away - although perhaps considerably longer at the pace at which you hobble along. Should I have said "practically next door" for the benefit of one as challenged as yourself?

There are no longer bars in the Walking Street area with actual straight fuck shows. The main action in that area is at the Windmill bar, if you want to see the guys in the audience doing things with the girls on stage. Unfortunately, most of the guys who go there are rarely the best looking. Hang around long enough though and you may find some horny young bugger getting it on with the birds. Windmill is anything goes...

They offered it to me for 3 million baht - almost 50% below the advertised price. So I can't imagine that it sold for more than that. They were also willing to offload a percentage stake in it, whether a majority or minority. Not only did they want out, but they wanted money fast. The existing S&M bar was owned by the same Jew who owned the Patpong Museum. He is now rotting in jail in Phuket after being convicted for his links to a paedophile ring on that island. All his businesses were shut down - the Patpong Museum, the Bar Bar S&M club, the next door The Strip go go bar, the XXX Lounge go go bar, the Black Pagoda go go bar up on the bridge and the newly-opened Delaney's Irish Pub, next door to Screw Boy. All his businesses were shut down and their names were permanently banned. Yet, shortly thereafter. the S&M club reopened under a new name - having changed from Bar Bar to Octopus - and then The Strip reopened under the new name of Kinky Girls. In both cases, the so-called buyers/new owners were women with no apparent financial capacity of their own. The word was that they were but proxies for the Jew. Now, it seems that he is confident that he will be freed on appeal (and I believe that he had nothing to do with the bad actors down in Phuket and it was guilt by association)and there is talk that the Patpong Museum will reopen if he is freed. The S&M club was actually his biggest money earner. He said that he made millions from it - millions of dollars, not baht - and that it funded most of his other ventures. So the red cage that was in the Patpong Museum sitting alongside other items from the Bar Bar S&M club is no coincidence. Let us see what happens. The reopening of the Jew's venues would be a shot in the arm for Patpong 2 and I would particularly welcome the return of the Patpong Museum.

The three main short time options in that area are the Suriwongse Hotel on Soi Thaniya 2, the Pavillion Place hotel on Patpong 2 and the Strand Inn Hotel, also on Patpong 2, but towards the Silom Road end of PP2. As noted above, the Suriwongse Hotel is 400 bath for 2 hours. The towels and bed sheets are threadbare but clean and the rooms are clean and the bathrooms have a decent shower and hot water. The lighting is white fluorescent, but you can switch that off and leave the bathroom door open if you want a bit of soft lighting... The Pavilion Place Hotel is that hotel that is directly above Screw Boy and is the place of choice for guys from that bar. It is not exclusively a short-time place. Budget travellers stay there too. I have never used it but the pictures don't look too bad. As a matter of trivia, it used to be called the Plaza Hotel when it first opened in the 1950s and it was the first hotel in Thailand to offer a telephone in every room. The Strand Inn Hotel is a good option if you actually want decent rooms. You could actually stay there quite comfortably. Ladies from the Patpong bars usually thought better of you if you were taking there for a short time, as opposed to the other two places. I haven't been there for ages but rooms used to be nice - and looking at more recent pictures online, it still appears to be decent. The have, or at least used to have, a number of cabanas on the rooftop - literal love shacks. I wonder if they still have those? If you want a quickie without feeling too cheap, this is the best option. The hotel is on Patpong 2, near the Silom Road end. A pic of one the Strand's rooms below:

Advice plus anyone want to meet up
Department_Of_Agriculture replied to Mikeisnewtothis's topic in Gay Thailand
S'sense would be a good choice for the type of massage you want. The Prestige Massage is another option if you don't want to go to S'sense. Both are easily accessible from your hotel. The guys at S'sense have a manlier vibe. As far as the best go go show goes, that really depends on what your taste in guys is and what type of a show you want. The days when practically every bar had dancing and fuck shows is over - or at least in temporary suspension. If you want a show that includes fucking and wanking and tonnes of nudity, then go to Atlas. Atlas is the only bar with a fuck show right now. If you want lots of dancing and attempts at being arty, you can go to Dream Boy. If what you want is to see lots of guys with great bodies in briefs in a really well-choreographed show, go to Jupiter. If you want a show that comes fairly close to the sleazier vibes of old Bangkok, go to Good Boys (previously known as Screw Boy). There is no longer any screwing in teh shows there though. As you have two nights there, I would suggest that you to Jupiter on one night and Atlas (and/or Good Boy) on the other. If it's a fuck show you want to see, make sure you ask the manager at Atlas if they are having one on that night, as they may not have one on a particularly slow night. -
Perhaps your friend has a distended anus and/or unrealistic expectations? What he considered inadequate may have been more than enough to satisfy the mamasan. What exactly constitutes big really varies from person to person. One regular poster on this site, for example, has had his gruesome old anus stretched so out of shape that he is left constantly complaining about how he can't find satisfaction in Thailand but needs to go to Brazil or Colombia to get his gruesome old orifice filled (I believe it is on one of the Bali threads that the admitted to the foul state of his anus - I'd really rather not go back and check). Yet most of us on this forum are able to find what we want in Thailand. So, could the issue not be your friend, rather than a dishonest mamasan?

Bangkok 5th report: moonlight and banana
Department_Of_Agriculture replied to 12is12's topic in Gay Thailand
What a silly little comment. My calling him out for a borderline racist attitude has nothing to do with his so-called "miscommunication" with the boy. But we shall not dwell on that. The bigger issue from from this thread is the idiotic behaviour of two individuals with regards to that boy. #10 is a great guy and it is sad to see him, effectively, being denigrated by the comments of the one who approached him with idiotic expectations and one who stuck himself in the middle of something that had nothing to do with him. There is nothing irrational about a boy not being interested in engaging with a client whom he perceives as a cheapskate or a weirdo. Those are probably the best reasons not to engage with a client. A worthwhile reminder, given how some old slobs seem to think that every boy is going to disregard how unappealing they look as long as they can produce money, like a grand 100 baht note, because the boy is desperate third world denizen. Indeed, the whole impression created is that of a cheapskate and weirdo with an exaggerated sense of his own worth and desirability - and disrespect for the boy. This thread, while slightly contentious, is perhaps a good wake-up call for cheap slobs. Something good may yet come out of it. -
Current air quality problem in Bangkok
Department_Of_Agriculture replied to Pantherz's topic in Gay Thailand
The air quality was actually pretty bad when I was there over the last week. One week in Bangkok and I had an almost permanently irritated throat and the pleasure of mild phlegm. Then again, I am rather sensitive. On the other hand, the cooler weather this time of year, particularly at night, is rather pleasant. -

Bangkok 5th report: moonlight and banana
Department_Of_Agriculture replied to 12is12's topic in Gay Thailand
Did you seriously think he was going to let you have his private contact details for 100 miserable baht? Let alone that he was going to contact you? Did you seriously think that he would consider you a customer worth having, given your apparent inability to understand what he is looking to earn? Given your apparent inability to afford a proper tip, maybe the flow of money should be the other way around. Your attitude borders on the racist, and not just in this post. Your attitude and behaviour certainly aren't anything I would call first world. Do you seriously think they think you know how to run a bar better than they do? Do you seriously think that they care about your opinion on the volume of the music? No, they don't; because they couldn't care less whether you, personally, show-up again or not. It's not as if you offed anyone so that they would be inclined to treat you with any seriousness. -
That was not the original venue. Tawan's original venue was on Suriwong Road back in the 1980s
-
The first bar is Tawan, at its previous location. The bar in the second video is Boyz Boyz Boyz (BBB) in Pattaya. They used to have very entertaining shows before it was, unfortunately, taken over by the Mainland Chinese.

Actually, I would find that a rather pleasant change from yet another, "I got fucked in massage parlour X, then I got fucked in massage parlour Y, and then I got fucked in massage parlour Z and then I went home and found a boy on Grindr who came over and fucked me in the shower and then I found a boy on Hornet who fucked me on the dressing table and then I went on Blued and found a boy who promised to fuck me on the window ledge (but never showed-up) and then I went out to get fucked again and I got fucked...again." No, that isn't directed at any poster in particular. My point is simply that if some posters are only posting those parts of their reports that involve them getting rammed and jammed because they think no one would actually be interested in reading about their other activities in a trip report, I think they will be pleasantly surprised. Many readers would probably be interested in reading a fuller trip report. Considering how much Bangkok, and Thailand, have to offer, it would be difficult not tell an interesting story when posting a fuller trip report. While the mention of "church attendance" above was obviously an attempt at being witty, I actually think that a description of midnight mass in Bangkok would be an interesting read if anyone ever did post something like that - or of anything in particular that struck the poster during "aimless wandering through Chinatown steets just for fun of it." Sex is certainly a big part of many people's holidays in Thailand, but surely there is more to it than that for most? On the other hand, if someone's "trip" does actually consist of little more than being fucked in the arse repeatedly, then I suppose that is what they are going to be posting - and there is obviously a market for that sort of highbrow material here too.

That's not correct. There have been gay bars on Patpong 2 since the 80s. Earlier bars that come to mind include Tiffany, Narcissus and The Mask. Screw Boy only opened in the mid-90s. 🤢🤢🤢🤢 🤢🤮🤮 The last thing that I want to hear is that the Chinese are returning in numbers now. Literally the last thing. One of the best things about visiting Thailand in 2022 was the almost complete absence of the Chinese. On those few occasions when one had the misfortune of encountering them, it was almost always unpleasant, such as the shitty toilet episode described on another thread. The Chinese tour groups are now even back on Walking Street apparently and it will only get worse. Bangkok, and Thailand, are a lot more fun without them. One can only hope that Chinese "influencers" calling Thailand unsafe and that silly Chinese film "No More Bets" will have the reported effect of deterring them from visiting Thailand. The end of an era. They were part of the original decor.

He is a Jew and does not want to be wished Marry Christmas on the birthday of the Prince of Peace. Fair enough. His choice, but also his loss, because I can think of few things more idiotic than barking at someone for wishing you for a holiday. So, it's just as well that you won't be sending him greetings. Still, I assume that he is happy to get 50% of most items during the Christmas season. Probably stocks-up on a year's supply of loo paper at Christmas time. Merry Christmas Everyone!

Saphan Kwai Phahon Theatre Bangkok
Department_Of_Agriculture replied to jeremy's topic in Gay Thailand
Yes, the scene at Phahoon started to die once the bloated, pasty, wrinkled, hairy old farang started showing-up. It is very much a Thai for Thai scene there and the bloated old hairballs were the last thing the Thais wanted. Many of them simply stopped coming ( please avoid the urge to attempt a tired pun ). Conversely, the reported decline of the Phahon scene has dissuaded the pasty old hairballs from trekking "all the way" there, which has encouraged the Thais to return. I wonder if your post will lead to a second decline for it... -
Sunee Plaza began to die when the police finally began to get serious about cracking down on underaged boys in the bars and those who used to hang around that area, generally. No, not all the bars in Sunee offered underaged boys and not everyone who went there was into that sort of thing but Sunee was a hotbed of that kind of thing. Once the police started cracking down in earnest, the gaps started showing very quickly. As the lights went out for good in some bars and as many "Sunee fans" stopped coming, the place lost momentum. Good riddance. Sunee was a shit hole and far cry from what Boyztown or Soi Twilight were. It is sad that on another forum, which now largely consists of the owner speaking to himself, that period is still described as the good old days, with a little nudge and wink.
