Tonight there is a big party at Dolce Vita. Toto was there in good spirits. If rumours are to be believed, which is always a bad idea in Jomtien Complex, 4T Bar are planning to close. But that's just street chatter, as of tonight they are open. As far as I am aware, there are 15 odd bars currently "For Sale For The Right Price". BC Bar was for sale for years before they decided to throw the towel in and shut up shop. While some bars might not be doing well, I think it's important to remember that even in low season, some are doing just fine with their regular expats and sprinkling of tourists. It's not all doom and gloom.

It was the twins, Es and Em's birthday at Poseidon. Not Chinese people. They invaded cocka2 bar afterwards, were our group of 10-12 were sat. You are correct that a lot of the complex was dead, and has been since the end of Songkran, but the well run bars are busy as usual. While I love low season, the Complex has lost 2 bars in the last 2 weeks (Lambada and BC Bar). It's likely they won't be the last to shut up shop. There simply isn't enough expats and/or tourists to support 30+ bars in the complex.

Spot on advice. The number of times I have bought a 7 baht bottle of water from 711 with a 1000 baht note? Hundreds of times. The better advice is get a BOLT or a GRAB and not deal with the tuktuk/taxi mafia.
