Hotel chili in SP is a very popular gay sauna on Friday nights. Rudimentary Portuguese will greatly improve your experience.

Thanks for the kind words and point taken. In a feeble attempt to make up for my posting indiscretion I will share my activities from yesterday which was a Sunday in São Paulo. Two laps around Ibirapuera Park in the afternoon. Dinner at Simbalae Bar & Burger on Rua Guaiçuí. Simbalae is overpriced for what it is but I’ve been eating there occasionally for years now and I like the bartender and it’s what I happened to be in the mood for last night. There are numerous other restaurants to eat at on this small street and the whole place always has a festive atmosphere. Even if I can’t whole heartedly recommend Simbalae to all, I would recommend visiting this street when in São Paulo. Arrived at Lagoa around 6:30 and met Rian from Minas Gerais. He has a gorgeous pau with a lean toned body and is versatile. If he wasn’t a smoker, he would be perfect. Still, I left happy around 9:00 with plans to see him again possibly today. The going rate at Lagoa these days seems to be 200. @Xclay are you an expatriate of some sort? De onde?

I don’t do much cooking and I almost never bake but last week I had cause to buy chocolate chips for someone else that does do that sort of thing. The bag of chocolate chips was almost $15 USD. I’m not actually sure how much chocolate chips are supposed to cost but that certainly feels like too much. Yes, I’ve planted a cocoa [probably a tree but I’m not really sure] on my rooftop deck while I’m waiting for the widget and cog factory down the street to be built so that I can get a job there but it doesn’t seem to being doing so well. My life in fake-America was good but it is time for a change.

My research indicates that I can invest R$1,000,000 which is less than $200,000 (or at least it is for the time being until the current administration finds a new and improved way to drive the economy off a cliff) in Brazil and obtain permanent residency. Could I buy an Airbnb as an investment in Ipanema, hire someone to manage it in the near-term while I sort out what exactly the terms of my divorce with Merica are going to be and then, um, drink caipirinhas and stare at the ocean and exchange bodily fluids with nominally 28 year olds that have a toned swimmer’s body and a mocha complexion until the sun explodes or I die, whichever comes first? If you are curious, I am in my early 40’s but have skills that can be employed remotely. I am also very comfortable owning real estate as an investment. Has anybody out there done this? It seems almost too easy.

So, I went to HotelChilli Saturday night. It was decent but I think Friday nights are better possibly because of a lower entrance fee as someone else mentioned. The clientele was still ages 18 to 80 but skewed more toward those that are middle aged rather than 30-something’s like the last time I was there. The complexion of the clientele was also much lighter than what I recall.

Has anyone had a recent experience with Summer? Asking for a friend…

Is this a gay sauna (non-GP) like Hotel Chilli in SP? I’ll be in Brazil for the two weeks in late-October.

It happened to me once before a few years ago too....

If this is a turn on for you, I strongly suggest you visit Brazil. Brazil has what you are looking for in spades.

I enjoy writing on here and answering the occasional question but I don’t usually post trip reports. The reason being that when I go to Rio, my trips mainly consist of going on long runs, drinking caipirinhas while staring at the ocean, doing only work that I want to do, meeting up with the same core group of two or three garotos, attempting to improve my feeble Portuguese, playing on Grindr and making a trip or two to the saunas. Since only the last item on that list is really appropriate for a trip report, I don’t post all that often. There is also the issue that when I first started traveling to Brazil about four years ago, I did document my experiences pretty well on here and acquired a stalker in return that I had to block from my social media accounts. At about that same time, someone (almost certainly my stalker) spent the time to search through the ~40,000 followers on Instagram of one of the garotos I had written about all so that he could contact my friend’s mother and tell her basically that her son fucks male tourists in exchange for Reis. The joke was on him though because none of this was news to her; she was following her son on Instagram after all and presumably looking at the pictures he posts, also it’s hard to explain but, well, Brazil. My activities here in Bangkok are probably suitable for a trip report though so I shall do my best. The massage yesterday at 15M Massage was amazing. I highly recommend the place. The massage was excellent and the messeur was a gorgeous 26 years old from Myanmar that I hit it off with so I asked him if he wanted to meet up for drinks after he got off work last night. He said he doesn’t drink but definitely was interested seeing me out side the shop so we exchanged Line and met up later that day for an alcohol-free dinner. After dinner we went back to my hotel and as our clothes started to come off he asked me if I took PrEP and then made a joke about how if I got him pregnant I would have to marry him which I chuckled at and said was fine because the risk/reward scale in my head had tipped in that favor as well. As we were having incredible sex though - the kind that is like a drug that causes you to forget the rest of the world - he kept mentioning marriage which quickly became much less funny and caused the incredible sex we were having to become average sex and then, eventually, degrade to the point were I wasn’t even really hard anymore. He sensed something was wrong and I tried to explain that I wasn’t looking for a husband but by then it was too late which is a shame because he has a gorgeous uncut cock, washboard abs, a beautiful smooth ass and could hold up his end of the conversation in decent English. I also spent a couple hours at Kaikan Onsen yesterday. The facility is excellent but the clientele was mainly Thai looking to connect with other Thais. I might try and go back later at night to see if the vibe is different. I was there late on Sunday afternoon. Today’s plan is gym, a few hours of work and to connect with a guy that I met pre-COVID that is apparently still doing massage. The recent pictures he sent me look almost unchanged from those that I have of him that are now almost ten years old. Hopefully, he really is blessed with excellent genes and the pictures are accurate.

Thanks (and I very much enjoy your trip reports) but this will never be home. Aside from the fact that learning to speak even the most basic Thai is beyond me, the true deal breaker is the time difference. Watching - and attempting to force myself not to read - emails roll in as the eastern seaboard comes online while things are winding down here in the evening is hard. Rio de Janeiro on the other hand is only an hour ahead. I also seem to be more apt to form relationships with guys I meet in Brazil which I like because I prefer to see the same guys multiple times (or the ones I connect with at least) rather than an endless carousel of random dick. The plan for today is gym, 15M Massage, delicious Thai street food and Kaikan Onsen.

Life is strange. I was planning to spend ~10 days this month in Rio but complications at work forced me to put off actually booking the trip multiple times and, well, when I finally did go to book the trip, airfare and hotel in Brazil were absurdly expensive so I investigated other options… Greetings from the lobby of the Le Meridien. I’m told my room will be ready shortly. Would any other members happen to be in Bangkok this week?

Massage isn’t really a thing in Latin America. Rio is amazing though. I love Ipanema beach.

I got a visa in March of 2024 that says it is good until March of 2034. Is that still good or do I now need something else? Thailand, Singapore and Vietnam in January was amazing but I need to get back to Brazil. Also, I may have the opportunity to become a remote worker in about a year. If there is anybody out there - ideally American (disclosing my nationality and cringing is a new feeling for me that I really dislike) - that is not so much retired but living and working in Brazil, I would really, really, really like to chat with you. I have a bunch of questions about taxes and owning or renting property in Brazil.
