When I was going to Brazil my 1st time after hearing all these horror stories. But not really anything serious here on the forums. I did a search and found this guy before my 1st trip.

I am not sure if you mean a garato or a tour guide. But I do know of someone who knows Brazil in and out. All the historical areas and touristie spots. He was referred to me by thee one and only @BlkSuperman told me about Manu Perclat. He is based in Rio but knows about the other areas you are looking at @Checkldn. He showed me all the beautiful areas that all tourist who have never been to Brazil in Rio need to see. Thank God @BlkSuperman took pity on me my 1st time in Rio and gave me Manu's number. Cause he helped with etiquette in the clubs translation and showing me the clubs that were in operations and the fun beaches. He also was able to provide help in finding the best spots for Airbnb's on my last trip. Got a driver to pick me up at the airport to take me to my airbnb. I paid him for his help because it was truly needed. I was thinking of going to Salvador Bahia for a while. Manu knowing how the little head out thinks ( sometimes by several moves) over the big head explained that as I am still not familiar enough with the language. He still gave me options on where to stay and some other things. So I said all that to say. Manu can be a great asset. He is a tour guide for a living. He also works for the embassy in Rio as a translator and tour guide for dignitaries and there families.

Manu made sure that I understood that it was always best to make sure the guy video called me so I could see them. I also took that to heart from @Latbear4blk and @floridarob because they have shared once that peoples pictures weren't them or were heavily doctored

Well since I live in Central California ( what I call it ) 15 minutes from Apple HQ. I have been looking for houses since the pandemic and can't find anything. I have been thinking about buying a investment property myself in Rio. Because of it being a destination a lot of people around the world want to go to. But I can't find a website like zillow. That I can look at stuff. Even then Still have to see if I could own one as a non citizen of Brazil. For a place to retire to in my older age. LOL. Unless I hit the lottery then sooner .

I think this is why I am trying to learn Portuguese before going. If you read @Novarunner @BlkSuperman @Latbear4blk stories of past trips they have had. They have met some really hot guys at random stops. Who may not go to the saunas and may not post online. I just point this out that many times a hot and willing guy who is need for some extra cash.
