Sadly, though farmers in places like Iowa and Arkansas are closer and closer to having to sell their farms to private equity outfits, they still see Trump and the MAGA Republicans as the right choice. Some folks will never connect the dots, even after they've sh!t the bed.

Well, back to Mike Johnson. Can we imagine how the corporate media would illuminate Nancy Pelosi and her friend back home that used to host her on his radio show, a friend that ultimately was arrested for masturbating in his vehicle parked at a playground full of children? Except that never happened to Pelosi. It happened to Mike Johnson's friend, radio host and anti-gay Reverend Grant Storms, back in Louisiana. Never heard of it? Why does corporate media let the GOP slide, again and again. If you search the Internet, you'll find Storms was guilty of the offense several years ago. The ongoing scuttlebutt in DC is there was one gay bar Johnson used to hang out at back home. Not that it matters, except that if true, it does matter when an anti-gay politician that provided legal support to Exodus International is friends with this Reverend that masturbated while near children. Big picture, maybe Madison Cawthorn was correct, that the House is nothing more than a gang of drunks, drug users and sexual perverts. Thus, why pay any attention to one more "immoral derelict?" 😗 I don't want to be judgy, but Johnson does come across as a big queen, right? And now the latest rumor on the Internet is some influencer claims to have information on Mike Johnson's GRINDR profile. Sadly, even if true, one can guess the corporate media would rain on that parade. Don't hold your breath. AND NOW, back to the EPSTEIN FILES

Quite a kerfuffle in the White House over Secretary Ludnick interview today, his comment about the Epstein blackmailing situation. Corporate media is asleep at the wheel on this. I wonder why. 🙄 The White House justice department already claimed no evidence Epstein was blackmailing sex trafficking clients. Welp..maybe Kash Patel should think again!! https://www.axios.com/2025/10/02/lutnick-epstein-greatest-blackmailer-fbi-patel

5 Reasons the Supreme Court Might Change Its Mind on Same-Sex Marriage
Pete1111 replied to stevenkesslar's topic in Politics
Maybe we don't need marriage equality. Maybe you guys are just being too picky about women. Take the lesbian in the above post. She's a little bit hot right? 🔥 Just try to imagine munching on that snatch. I know, right? Look at Mike Johnson or Ted Haggard, for that matter. They took a reality check, and came up with a big YES for pussy. And why not? It's true, Mike Johnson and Ted Haggard have the added guidance from the Bible, tank da lode, to do the right thing. Might we still hold out hope for our Senator Lindsay G.? Let's pray. He did admit a "near-marriage" with a flight attendant: In his memoir My Story. Lindsey tried to get a lady, and you can too! Sure, there is endless evidence that Republicans are pros at sucking cock, but we know they aren't always the best example for us to follow. Food for thought. -
5 Reasons the Supreme Court Might Change Its Mind on Same-Sex Marriage
Pete1111 replied to stevenkesslar's topic in Politics
There are two things I hope the legal team includes in preparing their arguments for the Kim Davis case. First, When Iowa's court ruled FOR marriage equality, the decision was so well written that legal experts predicted it would be difficult for Iowa to ever undo the decision, and that the decision would help serve as guidance for other cases, even outside the US. So one might hope, for Kim Davis, the legal defense will study that Iowa case for any helpful pieces. Iowa legalized same-sex marriage in 2009 following their Court's unanimous 7-0 decision in Varnum v. Brien, which found that the state's ban on same-sex marriage violated the Iowa Constitution's equal protection and due process clauses. If you search, you can find links to the decision and all sorts of other references to it. Back then, I read the entire decision. One thing I recall, when the lawyers raised the historical argument against, that gay marriage goes against long held religious beliefs, the Court spoke on that saying specifically that under Iowa's Constitution, the religious argument was not applicable. They also said that marriage equality does nothing to harm any of the government's functions in Iowa. It's a good read, if you can find it. Second, Kim Davis has been married 4 times and committed adultery. Perhaps some clever legal minds can weave that situation into their arguments why she is not a compelling plaintiff and that her case is not extremely worthy. One would hope her religious beliefs are out of scope for performing her job of county clerk. Yet with the current SCOTUS, I fear she might get an unreasonable amount of sympathy. Hope not. But I agree with @stevenkesslar there is reason to worry. -
Did Trump expect the sheeple to forget all about the Epstein Files while remembering the dear departed C.K.? https://www.facebook.com/reel/722413587520473/?mibextid=9drbnH&s=yWDuG2&fs=e Robert Garcia ranking Dem on the Oversight committee won't forget.

When I visited my MAGA brother back in fly-over country, we stopped at Chic-Fil-A, coming from the airport. Not my choice, but didn't want to be disagreeable. From that one and only visit, I don't understand what people are raving about. I can think of better options for chicken. Popeyes? I now have an additional argument beyond moral grounds not to dine there. Others I avoid include Denny's and Cracker Barrel on historical grounds. I know they claim to have cleaned up their act, but I still won't. I have been boycotting Target since January. I may never to back. I canceled my Washington Post subscription.

In case it's not clear. Charlie Kirk's shooter came from a rich, Republican, suburban, Mormon, pro gun family. MAGA wants to claim the shooter was radicalized by leftists. What is more obvious, the shooter was immersed in gun culture and military style weapons by his family. There are plenty of pictures of the shooter and his mother playing with military weapons. Is it sickening? https://www.thedailybeast.com/the-reasons-we-shouldnt-jump-to-conclusions-about-tyler-robinson/

This has happened to me a few times over the years, Amazon orders not delivered. In my case, the Website claimed the order shipped, but later stated my order was delayed and that I could request a refund if not delivered after a number of days.🤷♂️

I am considering whether to drop Amazon Prime. Currently the price is $139/year (US). I have some time to decide. I appreciate the convenience but don't necessarily require it. The Prime Video content is not that great, IMO. Has anyone dropped Amazon Prime? Do you miss it? Or, if you plan to keep your subscription, what do you value about Prime?

Robert Redford: American Movie Legend Dies
Pete1111 replied to PeterRS's topic in Theater, Movies, Art and Literature
I had never seen Butch Cassidy, until a few years ago it screened at one of the old movie palaces at an event in celebration of classic movies. An interesting comment by the event host, in Brokeback Mountain when Ennis and Jack jumped off a cliff into the water, that was an homage to Butch Cassidy. I remember as a boy how breathtakingly handsome Redford was yet it was not talked about in the same way as it would be now. He was a beauty. -
Clever English, showing Trump home movies on the facade of Windsor Castle.

Here's an old question. Can Pete Buttigieg get elected President? He is highly qualified, yet the Dems are good at fucking up elections. That he's gay is still a problem for some. IMO, the best chance for a gay candidate is now, after a GOP President such as 🍊 has fucked up everything. I like the Lovett or Leave It vlog. Here's a comedian take on the question. This is a short clip followed by the long version These young folks and their comedy antics! ❤️ short long

This thread is becoming a bit hyperbolic. You're starting to sound a little bit crazy. He's taking his dirt nap now, mkay? Let's find some common ground with Charlie. I agree with his point that Everyone should be able to get an unredacted copy of the Epstein files. Release the Epstein files!

RIP Charlei Kirk. The Radical Gays know better.
Pete1111 replied to stevenkesslar's topic in Politics
Kirk's non-profit raked in huge money. $80,000,000 annual? His salary was around $350,000. Look it up on Charity Navigator. He was another Sean Hannity, continually stirring the pot to keep his machine going. His next stop was going to be Minnesota just in time to soak up the remaining publicity about the Catholic school shooting. These people like Kirk, Hannity, Ben Shapiro, etc stay(ed) lucrative by hitting the emotional hot buttons. When their highest priority is money and ratings, not values and our welfare, do we need to remind ourselves what kind of people they really are? They are personalities, with twisted goals. The racists and homophobes see Kirk's death as a national tragedy for their reasons. Sadly, the corporate media is playing their tune. And characters like Alex Jones and Ben Shapiro are knashing their teeth and screaming the loudest about it. But that's still all about ratings and money. $80,000,000 is a big chunk. Someone needs to step in and grab those cash donations now that Charlie is tits up. -
The one guy on King Baby's team with smarts (not that he isn't a corrupt liar) continues showing his temper. HIGHLY recommend movie now in movie theaters!
Pete1111 replied to unicorn's topic in Theater, Movies, Art and Literature
I saw the film during Sundance. It is worth seeing in a theater with audience reaction. I saw it twice, and not for the naked scenes. That's how much I liked it. FYI, Those images above were pirated during Sundance. I recommend not reading anything about the film, such as reviews that discuss the plot. Better to go in knowing nothing. IMHO, Dylan O'Brien will win a SAG and Independent Spirit award for his acting. I plan to see it again in one of our local theaters, soon. -
Knowing Ronan Farrow's reporting about Weinstein and his victims should encourage the public now, regarding Epstein's victims. Ronan Farrow and The New Yorker reported on how powerful men, law enforcement and corporate media worked together to protect predators. https://www.npr.org/2019/10/15/770249717/ronan-farrow-catch-and-kill-tactics-protected-both-weinstein-and-trump If you have HBO, I highly recommend streaming the documentary series Catch and Kill. Or you might listen to the podcast and/or read the book. it won a Pulitzer. https://play.hbomax.com/video/watch/9fa062dd-e225-4d6d-bfec-a9a848399b01/01fb7476-66d5-4928-876c-cb6a71f6c7ef https://www.npr.org/2019/10/11/768346770/in-catch-and-kill-ronan-farrow-offers-a-damning-portrait-of-a-conflicted-nbc

There may be 3 other Repubs besides that one, according to tonight's cable news, for whatever that's worth. Mike Johnson will do whatever it takes to create political cover for Trump. Meantime the Epstein victims that testified before the House oversight committee today, will take questions from the Press tomorrow. Today Trump claimed no knowledge of failing health theories, but did claim the stock market is down due to tariffs being judged illegal. 🤷🏻♂️

I sometimes imagine Miss LindseyBelle at home, alone in his closet, sipping on his bottle of bourbon, and contemplating how it's come to this.....that he is one of the relatively poor Republicans in Congress, while back at the White House, some of Trump's wealthiest donors, advisors and cabinet members are out and proud members of.... Kiss kiss, ol' girl.
