  1. Might have been better for Trump to walk out on Holder. https://twitter.com/alexjholder/status/1540034384014807043
  2. C.R. played the Mr. Darcy role well.
  3. Netflix has a new documentary, The Martha Mitchell Effect. It's an easy watch and pretty straightforward and also prophetic. She would shake her head at today's politicians.
  4. I liked Bowen Yang in this. He was pretty good.
  5. I can imagine those times and the effect he had on women, and some men as well. I recently saw an Elvis documentary on PBS about a benefit concert he did in Hawaii for the USS Arizona Memorial. Very well done film. Gives an idea of the man and his fans. If you are a PBS member, perhaps you can view the film. I'm glad I got this taste of Elvis. That said, I am excited about Austin Butler and Tom Hanks cast together. I hope I am not disappointed by the new Elvis film.
  6. I just watched Edge of Seventeen. Streaming on Netflix. One of those films I was never inclined to watch, but finally gave it a try. Better than I thought it would be. I liked the lead character. His experience is similar to what many of us remember, dipping our toe into the gay pool. Holds up pretty good for 20+ years old gay film.
  7. Another good Indian film (mostly in English) is LOEV. It left Netflix, but worth looking for.
  8. You seem to be enthralled by Kremlin disinformation.
  9. YouTube Pride Central channel has several gay films. I watched Heartstone, from Iceland. Nordic language with English subtitles. Pretty good film. Teens grappling with sexuality and so forth. Quite poignant if you like that sort of film.
  10. How many Americans remember the GOP dropped their objection to Russia invading Crimea when Trump won the nomination? Probably most. How many Americans forgot how Trump held up sending arms to Ukraine? Sadly, probably most.
  11. Putin,Tucker Carlson, and Tasso Jr. all say it is so.
  12. Perhaps a reality TV show could somehow be crafted around Jussie and other celebs with careers that ran into the ditch. In the near term, he might try Celebrity Big Brother. He might ultimately repent and go on a book tour. I'd have no interest in any of that. But one can never underestimate the public's taste.
  13. I am binge watching Reacher on Prime. Lee Child is listed as executive producer. Reacher and his side chick are right out of the books. Nicely done. A lot of violence.
  14. I just finished binge watching S4 Part 1. One of the best shows on Netflix.
  15. Pulkinen is 1/2 Thai, and 1/2 French/Finish mix.
  16. Also loved Camden Pulkinen. A future champion? He's a looker. https://www.nbcsports.com/video/2022-us-figure-skating-championships-pulkinen-powers-fifth-free
  17. I loved Chen's skating costume today. He's in a class by himself.
  18. Men's free skate tomorrow 11am Pacific Time. Nathan Chen wowed the NBC crew. He's in 1st. Vincent Zhou skated to Vincent. So moving! He's in 2nd place. A 17 year old kid is in third. He was amazing.
  19. My feed just showed Nathan Chen. NBC did break for a replay of last nights women's winner. There are several asian stud muffins. So pretty. 💘
  20. US Men Championship on NBC today. Stunning performances and lot of beautiful men. Short program in progress. From Camden Pulkinen's Website.
  21. I just posted about The Last Picture Show. Sad to hear his passing. Such a good movie. Never you mind honey, never you mind.
  22. The Last Picture Show has been streaming on Showtime. I did a little research and found the film was released 50 years ago. So perhaps that is why it's streaming now, to remember the 50 year anniversary. I learned it is based on a novel of the same name by Larry McMurtry, who we may know from Brokeback Mountain fame. I was awestruck. For cinephiles I assume The Last Picture Show is considered a masterpiece, especially the cinematography and direction. The term bromance probably didn't exist back then, in 1951 rural Texas. To me the film embodies what a bromance might have been between two straight guys in those times, in the most subtle ways, ways that are lost on modern Hollywood. The story involves more than just those two of course. The cast was amazing. Truly a one-of-a-kind film.
  23. I admit not subscribing to the NYTimes. (Washington Post, yes) and since I don't subscribe, not sure what NYT means by "greatest book" These books I recall as being impactful to me The Color Purple At Swim, Two Boys The King Must Die A Boys Own Story Narcissus and Goldman Watership Down Giovanni's Room
  24. Died: December 28, 2021 Born: December 2, 1939 I'm hearing so many accolades about Reid I was not aware of, and that he was also a street fighter and quite brusque at times. He was Mormon. He is credited with Obama running for President and ensuring the ACA passed. He was a strong LGBTQ ally. Years after calling President Bush a loser, he admitted regretting saying that, that Bush was a patriot, that Reid missed him, how he was the Babe Ruth of presidents compared to Trump, who wouldn't even make the team. R.I.P.
