First timer in Santo Domingo (reports added)

@paborn Apologize? For what!? Speak freely, I love it! Contrary main-stream-politicly-correct-victim-thinking: I don't give a shit; no apology needed buddy. Speak freely! Speak your mind! It provides with a lot of new insights. Love, Snwbrdr015 -
First timer in Santo Domingo (reports added)
snwbrdr015 replied to snwbrdr015's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
Holy shit guys, quite an interesting discussion developed from the initial question: 'Any tips on Santo Domingo?'. And I mean this in a good way! It is helpful to get insights from different angles. One thing I understand from all of you: boys galore in Santo Domingoooooo! Shouldn't be hard to pick up guys; either working guys or 'normal' guys. Some insight: I am white, 41yo and European (Netherlands). I've travelled over 35 countries, and speak basic Spanish too, so I would think I am sort of street wise without being arrogant (I am here to learn too right!?). Now, not to insult the American forum members, but you guys can be quite loud compared to European standards hahaha. Yes I know, we dutchies are quite direct, some consider us rude.....we however, call it honesty! But the Americans I come across abroad are without exception the most open en positive people one can imagine. Loud....but friendly and 100% fun tho hang out with. There are unmistakably huge differences between USA's and Europeans in how to approach different situations abroad. Once again....no insult...only personal observations. Coming from a 'the old continent' with all its cultures, languages and a shitload of small, different countries I think I can adapt to various situations quite easily, where some Americans can be a bit naive sometimes (example: the local currency is called PESO not dollar......the name of my favorite destination is Colombia, with an 'O', not a 'U'...ColUmbia is a city in the US...) Therefore Americans are know to be overpaying for services ('yes my friend...special price for you...USA! USA!...love you!'), or easier led into harmful situations ('This is my brother, he is a taxi drive too. He rides with us. Very very safe') . Responses in this very thread show us all how different everybody is dealing with the whole Santo Domingo situation. I love it! Sure thing: it is not a dull place!!! Having that said I definitely are open to meet different people, damn sure I will scout out Paco's -it is a must see in my view!-, I love to cruise the Malecon and Parques (and Cine Lido.....hmmmm) and maybe I use the service of a middle guy. They're pro's and con's to all those options. I guess I spend my first day people watching and assessing the situation.. Bottom line: boys galore!!! whoop whoop!! yeah!! I'll drop a more specific question and can't wait to read on all of your different experiences: I'm more interested in the next step. How to bring a guy back. My golden rule: I want to see your Cedula. I make a foto of it and email it to 'the building registration' (nope....email it to myself. As a backup). Then I take you home. All valuables (passport, creditcard, excess money) already hidden and locked away of course (tip: use the travelsafe of Pacsafe) only left with my iPhone and amount for the guy in plain sight. In Colombia and Cuba this always worked out. No petty crime there. Never ever had any issues. It is just the horror stories of violent robberies (at knife or gunpoint) about te DR that give me the shivers. How do you guys value this? -

hahaha Thanks for your tips @Kevie770! Even though I move around in a discrete manner, I am very easy going and talkative always. I agree that meeting other travelers is a big bonus: strength in numbers! It's even better to meet a traveler who belongs to 'our family' too hehe. 'Loud black boys at Paco's', hahaha: mental note made! -
Hi forum dwellers, All reservations are made, everything is planned. I'll be heading of to the Dominican Republic for the first time this august 15th - august 30th 2019. I am so exited! A special shout-out to 1tennisace who made my head spin with his fantastic trip reports and some extra tips through PM (thanks buddy). I fly out to Punta Cana, which is a few hundred euros cheaper than flying out to Santo Domingo directly. From Europe this is. After unwinding in Punta Cana I'll have my 10-days-slut-tour in Santo Domingo from august 17th - 27th. I found a newly renovated, private Airbnb one block away from Parque Colon and Parque Duarte. Doesn't get more centrally I guess. If there are any forum members out there who like to share stories over a cup of coffee or a cocktail whilst in Santo Domingo, be sure to PM me! Always fun to meet up with like minded and have a laugh. Reports on this trip will be added to this post. We all like a good sleaze story don't we?! Any suggestions to improve my experience (cruising spots, saftey tips, etc.) are highly appreciated of course.

Misterbnb.com: The Gay Equivalent to Airbnb
snwbrdr015 replied to axiom2001's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
Hahaha, this brought a smile on my face. You are absolutely spot on! As I mentioned, I rent out my house via AirBnb, every time I travel abroad (great way to subsidize ones travel budget). I received guests with all kinds of cultures, religions, ages and yes, I had gay couples as well. Couldn't care less. As long a they pay the rent (guaranteed by AirBnb) and leave the place as the found it (fair use; don't wreck the place ;-) ), I am happy as Larry. Now, regarding booking Airbnb, if you plan to have sexual encounters (don't we all!): 1. Get yourself a private apartment, not a private room at someones house. 2. Find out what the policy on visitors is (it is common that owners only mention something on that topic when they specifically don't allow visitors. If they mention noting or mention it is ok, it is ok to have a visitor) 3. If the place has a doorman/reception; simply ask how they handle visitors to be sure One time only (I've rented more than 30 times at Airbnb) I had a problem (point 3.). Afterwards I found out that i didn't read the owners conditions correctly. Luckily I stayed there for 3 nights only. -
Misterbnb.com: The Gay Equivalent to Airbnb
snwbrdr015 replied to axiom2001's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
In my opinion Mrbnb is a useless, overpriced and overrated alternative with limited options for the insecure gay traveler. Like their places cater better to the gay traveler; providing a empty sense of security? Come on! It’s BS. Airbnb has more options, no stupid requests (provide FB and Insta profile?? What the F. is that?), better prices and owners always accept normal people regardless age, sex, religion or sexual orientation (I’m an Airbnb apartment owner myself; I happily agreed to these conditions) as long as your not a nuisance. Sure, if you’re not sure if visitors are allowed, ask the owner or choose another one. Plenty of options. Mrbnb 0 - Airbnb 1 -
There are tons of affordable Airbnbs around. An Airbnb is just as safe and gives you a lot more privacy. Check the ad first regarding remarks on visitors. I'm using exclusively Airbnb over my last 10 trips; honestly I don't understand why people bother to book a hotel. Especially the expensive chain hotels. Is that 'service' really worth it!? I just need a safe, private place to play around with those hot, Colombian studs... For the same amount of money you can have your private apartment in Chapinero or El Retriro. Sometimes I think it is an American thing to blindly book at (US)chain hotels, no offense. But look a bit further, organize yourself and be smart and you have better value for less money. Maybe I'm just a cheap Dutchie...

Yes, I was anticipating that. But I will enjoy it anyway: as you said it is my first time. But will the saunas be open? -
RJ/SP saunas report - March 2019
snwbrdr015 replied to likeohmygod's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
I will visit Rio from April 16 to April 23. Can't wait to get a taste of those hot Brazilian sex gods.....But this is also when Good Friday and Easter is due. Are the sauna's still running then? In other words: are the open 365 days/year? -
Rio Río so good they should name it twice
snwbrdr015 replied to Studulike's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
Alright, alright. Bottem line is: you invite guys back to your place as well, but common sense (and smart safety precautions) is necessary. It reminds me of the ‘security level’ I imply when I play in Havana or Colombia. Keep your wits about, avoid dodgy guys, ask ID as leverage, don’t carry valuables etc. In the sauna I’ll take my time and make clear expectations before taking a guy Thanks for your insights; I’m ready to break the Brazilian ice! My slut tour starts April 16th ;-)- 16 replies

Rio Río so good they should name it twice
snwbrdr015 replied to Studulike's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
Wow! I’ll go to Rio mid April and I can’t wait! It’ll be my first time and I’m pretty exited. I’ve got an Airbnb allocated between Ipanema and Copacabana. Obviously I’m curious about the well praised sauna experience. I’m just worried it is like Barcelona.... There the boys handle you like just another number..:rush rush. Sexy guys, but mediocre sex...Regarding to Rio is read you guys even invite the good ons for extracurricular activities outside the sauna? Interesting. Another thing is I like to cruise or go on Grindr and meet guys. If after meeting them on neutral ground turns out to be positive, I’d like to take them for play. My method in Havana (and sometimes in Colombia) is to ask their ID before take them. Any more thoughts on this issue? Anyway I’m sure I love the big, fit, large cocked Brazilian gorotas!!- 16 replies

Rio: meeting guys safe?
snwbrdr015 replied to snwbrdr015's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
Thank you for all the friendly replies! Sounds a lot like the AYOR level of Bogota. So I'm cool with that. @Badboy81 I think you underestimate me; I'm not that of a greenhorn. But thanks for your reply anyway! -
My plan is to visit Rio de Janeiro for a week this end of september. I have experience in taking guys to my apartment in Colombia and Cuba, but I read mixed reports on this issue here on this forum. So I call in the help and knowledge of my fellow experienced forum members: - Is it only sauna's for play dates or is Grindr active as well? - Do you guys take a guy to your apartment? If yes, what are your precautions (in Cuba I always ask ID, make a photo of it, never had any problems). If no, why not? - yes I do take the necessary precautions (no bling-bling, don't go out alone after dark, use Ubers, hide money and phone), but should I be even more worried about the safety situation? In short: loving to explore Rio, but tip-and-tricks are welcome!

Escort Website in Colombian Cities
snwbrdr015 replied to axiom2001's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
Mentioned website doesn't provide the best samples around in my opinion. And they are way overpriced. Try https://co.mileroticos.com/escorts-gay/bogota/ instead. Or rely on good old Grindr. -
ah ok, get what you mean. However, I walked to and from Prado station, along Calle 57. I wouldn't wonder further west though, to the other side of the metro line. Those barrio's are indeed sketchy. It's hard to imagine for non-Colombians that one block can be OK and the next is AYOR or even worse. I had a guy over who asked me for an Uber in Bogota to cross Av. Caracas (cr. 14): my apartment was on one side, his was on the other, one block further. As I asked him if the Uber was really necessary for those 80(!) metres he looked at me: "Duh! Yes! Nobody wants to cross Caracas after eight!". Hmmm ok......I did the night before.....lol.

@tassojunior: I didn't feel too uncomfortably during daytime on the west side of Av. Oriental. There were quite some people walking the streets minding their own business. I walked to La Casa Inclinada and Mes Video club; around 16.00. Felt fine. Was I naive in your view?
-
@Tommy3103:La Candelaria (and Prado) are definitely not safer than Poblado; in fact the city centre is fine by day (pick pockets allert) but sketchy after 18.30. That's when the centre drains from the workers going home and it gets deserted. Not recommended. Poblado is een good option if you are a first timer. Very safe, also at night. Most tourists and expats live here. Its more upscale so to say. This doesn't make for a top notch Colombian experience, but hey, you don't need worrying on safety concerns if you want to get laid right? Another good option is Lauraless/Estadio. More Colombian, stil higher end of the spectrum as a neighborhood. The 'Cathedral' is Catedral Basílica Metropolitana de Medellín (Cra. 56 #48-26, Medellín, Antioquia, Colombia). Once again: by day be vigilant ( a la Barcelona...pick pocket wise), after 18.30/19.00: avoid. On the west side -this is west of Av. Oriental) there are some gay hotspots. After dark use taxi's. On the east side is better. Stil use taxi's after dark in La Candelaria. Places I liked (not for the faint hearted...): Men's video club at Cra. 43 #56-25 La Casa Inclinada at Cra. 44 #46-38 Grindrrrrrrrr! Medellin boys are fucking models! Oh, the CB guy will be easy to meet. It's business for him, no worrie
-
Haha, good to see you are enjoying yourself! Unfortunately I wasn't able to make it to medellin my latest trip; but I see many big, very big reason to go there again next time September. Could you give some more info on the cream? Foto maby, and where to get it? My ass need a university degree in flexibility to take monsters like that. But I'm a dedicated student, although a cream could help :-)

Colombia- new adventures plus samples
snwbrdr015 replied to snwbrdr015's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
@KevinC Yes, I read the story on the knive that was pulled. It was a warning to me too. I don't underestimate the risks, however my little head urges me not to live like a monk too! Second best advice: get informed on your destination, the do's and don'ts and the experiences of others. Best advice: use common sense. The bulk of the guys I fuck or get fucked by, I agree to meet outside and then go to a motel (not a Hotel; Motels are sex palaces). Common practice in Colombia. The guys seem to have a hard-on all the time and just want to get their rocks off. At least in a motel you come together (no pun intended) and, very important, you leave together. This is safe. You both now that you've still got your wallet and phone. Yes, both. It's safer for the guys to. Sometimes, when I've met a guy a few times and the voice in my had gives an 'all clear', I'll take a guy to my apartment. All my valuables are stowed away; I carry ample cash. Yes, I still could take a risk, but so would you back home. At least give yourself some time to observe the guy before hand. I too had a bad experience and was robbed once. But I made mistakes I wouldn't make now. My latest trip was flawless! Fucked my brains out. Met the hottest, sweetest and fuck craziest guys again. Got myself more at ease with the use of former mentioned motels. Even went to one with a guy that was hitting on me in the street ;-). I can give some directions in that direction too if anyone is interested. Finally, to stay on topic: 1,2,3: ripped 26yo hunk who wanted just to make some extra cash. Not a full time escort (less than half of the regular fee). Fucked, came, got hard and fucked again because he enjoyed it so much . So macho 4,5,6,7: For the tops out there: twinky 20yo medical student. Free. Total bottom slut with an unreal appetite for cock. -

Nope. First thing: get a local SIM card with internet. Than use google translate. (I believe they even have a offline version) Not much to talk about with a piece of Latino meat down your throat. Off to see mr. Bubble butt again. This time he will be used by the dark hunk as shown in the fotos. I booked them both -

To me the libido of Latinos is still amazing. Especially the gay ones. One look, one wink, one smile ... and they are hard as rock; ready to rumba. 1,2 & 3: 26yo hung like a horse Paisa from Medellín 4, 5, & 8 two 19yo boys -living next door to each other- do a little action work on the side. Great attitude. Friendly and safe. Great bubble butt and forceful top. Good to watch them work it too! 6 & 7: one of the sons of Colombia that make you drool. Delivers a nice protein shake after his workout.
