It is not about avoiding controversies. I think we would all agree that I do like controversies and I am not afraid of personal attacks. It is about not being self centered. Instead of posting to vomit whatever reaction something causes to you, post with a constructive attitude. I do not think we are teenagers in the self-affirmation stage. For instance, when someone starts a thread to celebrate men with tattoos, or blond twinks, or older men, or any other preference, there is always a group of posters that run to express their disgust and show off instead their own preferences. I am for their right to do so, but I am equally for my right to call them assholes because that is what they are.

I did say I am upset, and shared the news. It is my first ban and it is important to me. But I do not keep trying to guess his motives. I am not the one keeping this thread alive, I am just responding to your comments.

I do not have enough information to make an assessment of his intentions, but indeed it is an authoritarian decision taken without following the procedures. And an overreaction. Perhaps he felt he needed an act of authority, and made an example of me? I do not know. And as I said before, I do not really care. Of course I don't like it but it is not a big deal. I will be back when the ban is lifted and will continue being the same. In he meantime, I can still get information when need it.

I agree. I cannot wait to contribute more to this forum. On June 19th I am departing to Argentina. The beginning of my trip will be in an inner country, conservative province (state) capital, and I do not expect much interesting in the first weeks. But on July 13th I am arriving to Buenos Aires and planning to have fun. I hope to add to the common knowledge with a few informative posts.

More logging in weird issues. I know you are working on it, I just want to report the details in case it is useful at all. When I log in to the forums, I am taken to an error screen asking me to contact the admins. However, I can see my user name in the upper right corner as logged in. I click on "Browse" to check the folders, and the screen tells me I am logged out. In the Forums Home Page my user name does not show up in the upper right corner, as when I am not logged in. However, I click on any forum or thread (as I did to write this message) and I am logged in.

This is a pearl I found in the Argentinian forum: You can start with the first episode there and keep going if you like it. You have English subtitles if you need them. I just finished the first 4 episodes, the first three are excellent, the fourth is very good but the philosophical conversations disrupt a little the flow of the action. The plot is simple and not very original. A group of 4 gay friends (30 years old average) get together as they usually do, to learn that the host hired an escort to be his companion in a family reunion, and the escort is coming any time to have his interview, as the contract would be for a whole week end. It is a great sample of the high quality creative talent we have in Buenos Aires. Acting, writing, directing, everything is at outstanding level. It is entertaining if you just want to watch a comedy. It is engaging if you are into gay politics and he post-gay/old gays vs new gays controversies. It is interesting if you want to learn the Buenos Aires slang and Spanish dialectal version. It is insightful if you are looking for a picture of the Buenos Aires middle/upper middle class gay culture.
