Santo Domingo - Manny - Fees
SolaceSoul replied to endlessdream's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
For the more reasonable readers here: Juan Bin Bin also sends working guys to your hotel room or apartment at any additional fee. It does not just act as a house where you meet the guy there and have sex on their premises. Here is a clip of a WhatsApp conversation from just last October. The working guy was 3000 DOP. The procurer Juan Bin Bin charged 1000 DOP to send him to the apartment. The total was 4000 DOP. Facts are a stubborn thing. -

Yes, good advice. My policy on various Facebook groups is to block trolls who are there just to insight and to inflame. So, the Half-Baked troll poster is now going on “block” / ignore. -

You are all over the place with your claims. Maybe you think if you keep throwing anything against the wall, something surely has got to stick. Now, you’re going on about drug addicts! One is far more likely to run into a junkie hustler bugarron randomly cruising El Conde where Paco’s is located and the various streets surrounding it — as well as the flaccidity problem that comes with it that you seem to focus on so much. At first, it seemed you had only a personal issue with Manny. But now, you malign any and all procurers, and say they provide an unnecessary service and that their fee always comes out of what is paid to the service provider. That’s not how it works at Narciso’s house. That’s not how it works at Juan Bin Bin. Some other procurers I and others that I am close to have used over the years would bake their fee into the amount you pay the sex worker — still resulting in a higher fee paid by the client. Others might collect all the money themselves upfront and then they pay the sex worker because they don’t trust them with all of the money. It definitely depends. There isn’t a “one size fits all”. So, I find your claims that “these are the rules and everybody down there knows this” to be a bit odd. But your experiences are yours, and I won’t question that you see the world / the island as you see it. -

This is exactly why I avoid publicizing what I pay to ANY service provider in the sex industry. Because pricing can vary widely depending on who the customer is / the nature of their relationship / what they look like / what they are asking for. And too many clients and posters take it too personally or think all things in life need to be equal. -

Probably because in recent years, the DR has been invaded by many more Americans because a flight there is as almost as cheap as flight to Miami, and it’s a quick weekend trip. Unfortunately, this has also attracted some of the scummiest, low-end travelers. It’s become quite embarrassing seeing the displays some of the worst Americans put on in Zona Colonial. -

To be more specific about your original question, I think Manny might charge a one-time client more than he would charge a regular customer who provided steady income. Which for any business person, should be understandable. As I mentioned (maybe in another thread), all customers aren’t equal, and all haven’t gained the same level of reliability or trust. This is why both he, Juan Bin Bin and even the old school Freddy no longer send out photos unless it’s to a regular, well-trusted client. There have been reported cases of assholes calling him up claiming they were coming to Santo Domingo or in Santo Domingo already and asking for photos of the working guys — even going as far as to give a fake address in SD for the guy to show up — only for the “client” to be a Gringo in the USA, Canada or Europe who was a pic collector. -

You completely missed the point — which I’ll spell out for you. The types of men that Riobard is into aren’t readily available in the DR. They rarely show up at the Conde / Paco’s / Binbin / Narciso’s house. The DR has lots of slim, regular, next door type guys with big, uncut dicks, but not a whole lot of very muscular, physique model type guys. Manny is one who does have access to what you normally don’t see hanging out at the Conde. A casual visitor who doesn’t come to the island as often as you or me doesn’t have the time and the relationships to scour the country for these guys. This is where a procurer’s value comes in. As someone who already knows the ins and outs of the DR, this kind of service no longer has much value to you. But for those who — for whatever reason: safety concerns, age, unfamiliarity, language barriers, social awkwardness — it does, services from procurers (Manny is not the only one) are advisable. You’re obviously not in that category — and that’s okay. But what’s NOT okay is you defaming a guy who provides a valuable service to many and calling him a “scammer” just because you don’t like how he meets and acquires some of his roster. Maybe it’s just your limited vocabulary and poor choice of words. Most folks just want to eat the sausage. They’re not really all that concerned with how sausages are made, and would get really grossed out by the process. . No one is “making” you do anything. But posting identifying information about working guys on the internet without their permission is the hallmark of someone with very compromised ethics. -

I’ll try to translate Riobardese. In plain English, what he was saying is that he only likes a certain kind of guy that isn’t really available much in the regular Dominican spaces for hustlers (Conde, Pacos, BinBin, etc). He likes muscular men, bodybuilders, fitness models, buff gogo boys, semipro athletes, etc. He is willing to pay a premium for these kinds and he told Manny this. He is saying that Manny brought him a guy or two like this — after a few false starts and some clarification on exactly what he liked. -

Wow, you got me, Sherlock. That extra 1000 pesos / $17 USD per referral from this board to Manny finances my globetrotting. Your powers of perception are remarkably uncanny. -

This has not been a problem for me or any of my friends who regularly travel there. Most of Manny’s business are regular, repeat customers — heterosexual and gay. If you have been going there for 10 years, surely you would know this, -

No, you can’t just show up. It’s Narciso’s home — so try to have some respect. He doesn't use WhatsApp or any online services. He has to make preparations (usually at least the day before), and invite local guys over. He lives outside of the town of Haina, and a lot of the guys require transportation to get to his place. Some even require someone like Manny to pick them up and take them there. Narciso is an elderly retired man who’s living his best life. You have a better shot booking a trip through someone who knows him and knows how to get there, and only if you’re going in a group (2 or more clients). -
Marlowe is a bar owner, not a bordello madam. He might keep up people who cause his bar trouble, but he isn’t prone to monitor the activities of adult customers outside of his establishment. If you want that kind of added protection, either make friends with or pay locals who can vouch for the guys you’re meeting. I think it’s wholly unreasonable to expect a person who simultaneously running a bar to do your adulting and homework for you. Especially when he is provided a safer space for your activities. Ever been to a dark room in a cruise bar? It’s dark with a few booths with curtains. It has a few dimly lit areas for seating. There’s a small open-air smoking area before you get to the dark room. It’s not worth going into great detail.

It’s been mentioned before that Marlowe’s has a back room where activities fo on. It’s even listed / alluded to at its description on Google Maps (“with back room”). Manny is not a “scammer”. His service isn’t for everyone. On the scale of Dominican service providers, he’s very honest and fair. Is he also a capitalist? Sure. But never a scammer. I’ve known him for 12 years. The guys he procures are not the same as the ones you meet on El Conde, where as a non-regular, you are taking safety and other risks. A few of Manny’s guys might work at Narciso’s house near Haina, but those at Narciso’s house are also local boys from Haina, a town outside of Santo Domingo. (1) Narciso’s guys tend to skew very twinky, due to Narciso’s own personal tastes, and (2) You’re not going to get too many Haina locals to travel to you in Santo Domingo unless they have paid transportation, which Manny does offer. Also, it’s very rare that Narciso will book a solo visit to his house, because it’s his house where he lives, and it requires work and effort to gather a round of local guys to come by just for one curious onlooker to inspect them and not pay. Also, you’re paying Narciso for his place, plus a fee for each session (on top of the fee you pay the guy). And then there’s drinks and transportation — and in most cases, you as a green newbie will have zero control over what guys — or how many or how few — actually show up. If you don’t want to use Manny’s service, that’s your prerogative. But there’s no need to falsely defame him by calling him a scammer. -
Bar Friends has been closed for maybe 7 years at this point, but this new NYC Bar in the same location as that old Bar Friends. Try looking up some old, dated Santo Domingo directories on Google. Marlowe’s is not a very loud bar at all. The background music is normally at typical bar levels — not the decibels heard in discos. Maybe the OP just needs to turn his hearing aid down. If any posters here remember the old hustler bar in SDQ Bar Friends, which also always had music in the background, the level of noise is similar in Marlowe’s — and that never seemed to stop patrons from negotiating anf booking dates with hustlers there. Also, the noise level is nowhere near that of the bar areas in the saunas in Rio and São Paulo. But somehow, every 5 minutes, clients in those saunas manage to hookup with working guys. People even have actual conversations!. Maybe — just maybe — this OP is just really weird and an outlier. Regarding the Marlowe’s back room / dark room, the last time I was there, there were two private booths installed in the darker room. That’s in addition to the seating area. Also, the old hustler bar Bar Friends space has now re-opened as the old NYC Bar. This is now another bar to book pay dates.

Definitely an outdated list. It looks to be from 2017, at the latest. -
Congratulations on your successful first trip and welcome to the charms of Brazil.

Which Rio hotels do you like?
SolaceSoul replied to topjohn5's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
I cannot fully co-sign to this assessment. Sure, in many parts of Copacabana, there are malandros looking for and targeting tourists and gringos (because tourists are known to flock the area), Copa is so big that there are “good” parte tô stay/live/plan in and “bad” parts to avoid. Also, surprisingly, in recent years (pandemic years), Ipanema’s beach areas have overtaken Copacabana’s as the most invaded by locals from other parts of the city — making the crowds there during great beach weather unbearable. Ipanema has been the site of many recent fights (with or without weapons), as well as crimes of opportunity, as of late. Police presence in sone areas helps to quell this, but it’s still been noticeably bad for the local Ipanema residents and long term stayers. Niw, regarding areas above the tunnel like Botafogo, Flamengo, Catete, Glória, et al, you have to define “safe” — because a tourist’s / gringo’s idea of safety is often rooted in feeling versus reality. Sure, in those areas, there are fewer masks Deus out looking fir tourists or gringos — because there are less of them. However, in those areas, there is statistically more crime reported, less police presence, and less likelihood to encounter English-speaking people (or anyone who doesn’t speak Portuguese). Also, because you would be one of the few, you may very well stick out like a sore thumb when they look at you or hear you talk and it’s obvious you aren’t a local — this making you a target of opportunity for malandros. I would advise staying in those areas if you want close to an authentic local Zona Sul Carioca living experience — not for safety reasons. -
You can thank all of the terrible readers at sites like this one, and other bad-faith tourists for this recent change. There have even been some losers claiming they were currently in Santo Domingo and wanted to hire but needed pics first before deciding. Manny would send the guys to a given address, which was fake because the photo requestor wasn’t even on the island. If he already knows you and trusts you, and knows you won’t expose his guys all over the internet, then he will send out pics. If you’re just some rando, then no. That trust has to be earned. BTW, Juan Bin Bin stopped sending out pics for the very same reason.
