I think its about authenticity. When you are a regular contributor on a site, you kinda develop a kinship with the others there. Kinda like a sisterhood. But when one of the sisters is continually putting you down and calling you a "basic bitch" compared to them, it is IRRITATING. Its his choice to have and keep the site, so HE alone should fund it IMHO. But for those who appreciate whatever it is that they get from it, it is their perrogative to give him a boost. But if how you are treated on the site is based on your charitable contribution, that's a site I have NO use for.
