  1. It's fairly well known in the online marketing industry that if you buy enough ads companies will remove bad reviews. This is even the case with the Better Business Bureau which will remove bad reports to their site and improve the company's rating for a fee (this has been reported on extensively.) Also common are paid reviews. In general a company will pay a guy $2 per positive review he posts. It takes just a couple minutes to post a positive review, so if you have multiple email addresses you can use for Amazon reviewing you can make really good money posting positive reviews. The same is true for testimonials on most websites - though people are usually paid roughly $50 per fake testimonial ($100 if they can find a photo of a "real" person to go with it.)
  2. He would make a welcome addition here.
  3. Oz, why did you pull those domains?
  4. So, my debit card was getting old and the strip was wearing out - to the point where it would only work about half the time and even then shopkeepers would have to swipe it a bunch of time. I called my bank on Tuesday and asked them if they could send me a new card and that it would take five to 10 days to get here. I asked them if my current card would still work until then and they assured me they wouldn't cancel my existing card until I activated my new card. Today I went to an ATM to take out the rent - and the ATM ate my card because it was cancelled! I called up Wells Fargo and explained that I don't have credit cards and my debit card is my only way of doing anything and asked if they could FedEx a new card. Nope, they said, I just have to wait until the new card they sent on Tuesday eventually gets here. Luckily I can borrow money from my business partner until the card shows up - but what if I didn't have that option? I'd be fucking left to starve. Banks suck.
  5. Is he slutty or demure?
  6. Oh.... what's he like on a circuit?
  7. Very, very true. If LBJ had gone to China they would have called him a commie.
  8. Well said.
  9. Nobody ever said Nixon was a fool - and he was actually a better president than people give him credit for.
  10. I have to say I miss Adam Smith too! Welcome back!
  11. Personally I'm shocked the Tea Party people haven't tried to claim Obama is gay.
  12. I think JFK stuck it in any willing orifice.
  13. You can use it as a base to travel to other cool places. It's a lot cheaper and easier to say take three trips to spain from France than it is from the US.
  14. How did this go from a couple nice videos into escort intrigue?
  15. I'm picturing Kissenger playing with his tricky dick.
  16. Some of us were born to be on our knees.
  17. George W. Bush?
  18. Good luck on them solving the eurozone problem. The only effective solution is to devalue the euro, but the bureaucrats think that would tank them politically.
  19. Well it would be nice to think we had at least one gay president.
  20. It depends on where you go. If you go to a European city that has a large expat population and live where the expats live you won't face most of those problems. In the neighborhood I live in 80 percent of the population are native English speakers and all of the bars/restaurants/grocery stores/doctors and the local hospital are primarily English speaking.
  21. New book claims Nixon was gay. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2078822/Did-Nixon-gay-affair-Mafia-fixer-Forget-Watergate-A-new-book-claims-Americas-corrupt-President-hid-far-personal-scandal-.html
  22. I live to serve.
  23. Happy holidays to him! Perhaps he'd like to join us?
  24. When they first tried to bring in warning signs on cigarettes in France they let the cigarette companies design their own warnings. The people who make Gauloises came up with billboards that featured a picture of the worst nursing home in the world and a warning that read (I'm about to translate from French) "Cigarettes will take years off your life, but consider which years."
  25. The euro is quickly tumbling against the dollar.
