"Impersonation" is a fairly serious civil law violation. Also, saying someone is dead when they are not is covered under all sorts of civil laws as is profiting off of fake stories about real people.
Because it acts like black people had no influence at all over the passage of the anti-slavery amendment and that it was white advisors of Lincoln who pushed it through, when actually it was mostly the work of Frederick Douglas and other black politicians/activists of the era.
