Ever since the nature of Lieberman running for both his Senate seat and higher office simultaneously were pointed out I've always felt it is the height of selfishness and a good indicator the person in question deserves neither position!

I think you should look up the definition of satire in a dictionary. Weekend update/political satire are about all that SNL is still good at!

I think that the Volt is interesting technology and I'll continue to watch closely to see where it goes--and am *very* glad it exists. The numbers cited above are absolute BS because they take the development costs and divide them by the current number sold, which is simply wrong. Cadillac will be doing a version based on the second-gen drivetrain (further diluting the dev. costs...) which interests me, and for all it's detractors GM has actually done quite a bit better than Fisker has with the Karma and even Nissan with the Leaf. Yes, the Volt has some problems but they are to be expected in such a revolutionary technology and should be expected by early adopters. It gets better. They beat Toyata to having a plug-in hybrid by years, after all! The current hands-down winner for best electric car is clearly the Tesla S, but they're not yet shipping in numbers and are high-end price wise--but also performance wise. They compare quite nicely to a Porsche Panamera S for price, performance, and features.

Everybody else who really believes the country needs Elizabeth Warren in the senate should join me in donating, even $5!

I hope some museum somewhere is getting one of these 747s to display, with perhaps a replica shuttle on top? Maybe an outdoor display...

When Walking Dead started with a fucking love triangle I just couldn't keep watching--end of the world as we know it so let's spend a lot of time on fucking soap-opera drama and people too stupid to live... I was interested in AHS because I always thought Dylan McDermott was sexy as hell on The Practice... but never saw a single episode. Not otherwise my kind of show, I guess...

Loved the commentary South Park made on her... here's the creators talking about her directly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHMIBR-_v4Q&feature=player_detailpage

I was under the impression it had been declined for the App Store in the past. It's not just Google, Bing also has pretty good maps/turn by turn directions, last I used it... I *really* prefer not needing anybody's permission to run something on *my* phone...

I'm entirely against regulating the content in any way, other than perhaps requiring a huge flashing fucking EDITORIAL Chyron across the screen when the show in question on a "News" channel is not actually fact-based... What I'm suggesting is attacking it from the business side. In the America we all grew up in one senile old coot (a foreign-born one at that) would never be allowed to own a major network, local broadcast stations, many cable networks, (formerly) a chief way of distributing cable (DirectTV), a major film studio, and several newspapers in a single media market... let alone almost all of the markets!

Fingers crossed! I hope at some point The President, or Clinton initiates a massive campaign to encourage people to vote "straight ticket Democrat" to get rid of this horribly obstructionist congress and the state Republicans behind evil shit like the voter ID laws!

Awesome!!! I'm surprised they "went there" with Mormonism (magic underpants and 6 wives), very daring! And here's a quote from The Simpsons I was just reminded of yesterday:
-
For donations to a charitable cause, I'd agree with you. For donations to the fucking Mormon batshit-crazy cult, I wholeheartedly disagree. Money that's used primarily to brainwash others but has also been used to directly and negatively impact all of us, with Proposition 8. And it's of course shockingly transparent that it's just a stunt, of course he'll amend as soon as nobody is looking!

First, hitoall, HOW DARE YOU state I own an Apple product!!! Second, you're poking at exactly the problem. This batch of Republicans want to run the country in an Ayn Rand-based belief that if you give the rich and the corporations everything they want, and don't regulate them, then everything for everybody will be rainbows and puppies. How people are still duped into this point of view after what Wall Street (AKA people exactly like Romney) has done to the economy AGAIN is beyond my understanding. Democrats believe that idealism belongs in government. It should aspire and even work to create a more perfect union, and there is a fair amount of evidence that even the most controversial aspects--income redistribution to narrow the gap between the rich and poor--does create a robust and diverse economy better for EVERYBODY. Liberals, like myself, believe that corporations, especially ones the size of Apple, should also work towards bettering people's lives, at the very least the lives of ALL their workers, but our current Wall-Street centric system actively opposes this ideal.

Oh yeah, I didn't seen anything objectionable in that account. The media holding somebody accountable and pointing out inconsistencies in their claims is journalism, and it's been sorely missed! And it's about fucking time seniors realize they're the majority of Romney's 47% of tax scoffing deadbeats and Ryan especially has Social Security and Medicare targeted for destruction!

My problem is that we don't have a free and unfettered mainstream press anymore, we have an entirely corporate dominated one. Favorite description of Fox "News" I've ever seen: "Fox News: Billionaires paying millionaires to tell the middle class to blame the poor." So I think we desperately need to re-introduce media ownership, media market domination, and "equal time" types of regulations RFN! In the internet age I don't believe complete censorship can ever be a problem again. Wikileaks makes the Pentagon Papers look like nothing! At the same time we have bullshit like Infowars getting gullible people riled up about inconsequential stuff, instead of the things that affect them which they could actually influence... How'd we get on this topic though?

I think you fundamentally do not understand Willard 'Mitt' Romney, to say such a thing. A human being would have empathy for those whose lives he's negatively affected, as CEO of Bain or that story of the woman, denied hospital access to her wife, meeting with then Governor, for example. Friend? He's the quintessential 1%-er born with a silver spoon in his mouth, thinking of the rest of--if at all--as nothing more that servants! American?! An American Patriot DOES NOT make millions upon millions of dollars by shipping American jobs overseas AND THEN put all his loot in the FUCKING CAYMAN ISLANDS to avoid paying taxes on it! While lecturing **all of us** on how we don't pay any taxes and we feel entitled to government services, no less!! Kind of like protesting FOR the DRAFT during Vietnam yet RUNNING AWAY so he can't get drafted himself. --And I thought Bush II and Cheney were assholes!

No, but that's second-rate compared to a native app that could be set to respond to address clicks or give verbal turn-by-turn guidance.

The thing that's really getting me with the maps thing is that iPhone is the only platform that doesn't offer you the choice of which maps/directions you'd like to use. They actively prevent Google or others from offering alternatives--FREE ALTERNATIVES. Pretty much sums up my problems with Apple right there!
-
I'd guess this was made in spite of their ever-continuing troubles. Less obviously money-making properties they own haven't been so lucky. I don't understand how they can be in such bad straits for years and years running--with popular properties and income from their back catalog... have they been through bankruptcy yet? One of these days I really have to read up on what's going on over there.

Ahem, did Expat quote him too? ;o)

No, I don't think so. Republicans have an entire network that would gladly spend 24 hours a day even on manufactured untrue BS against Democrats / the President. Remember the asshat with the hidden camera at Acorn? The Republicans and say-anything Romney deserve every fucking minute of this, my only regret in the matter is that Dems may get overconfident and get blindsided by a long-planned dirty trick or that the feeling Obama's already won combined with evil voter suppression efforts actually endanger the outcome. Not to mention, the Republicans have made it clear they will not allow the president to get a god damned thing done as long as they control the house of even a "superminority" of senators. So a massive route is the only path to the change Americans are finally starting to demand!

Pics have come out of Kate topless. - - The queen is said to be beside herself!

People familiar with the edits, discrepancies, and contradictions in the bible, who see it as, at best, "inspired by god" and filled with parables are not the problem, not who we are arguing with. But when those people go along with the moo-ing herd of uneducated idiots who believe (though they've never spent time thinking about it for themselves) that it is the literal word of god and want it taught as such (and selectively enforced on our private/social lives)--especially when it's allowed to reach it's tendrils of idiocy into our public schools... THAT'S WHEN WE HAVE A PROBLEM! - -

The President's definition is *families* making up to that amount. While I hate to admit it, that may have also been what Romney was trying to say... But that he so consistently faceplants on things like this... who exactly thinks he should be the one speaking for the country? I guess it's a good thing Romney would let people like Netanyahu decide and articulate our foreign policy then...
