It was great to see so many Mermen show up for this. Brandon arrived solo-he was still recovering from Mardi Gras-and getting set to move to Las Vegas tommorow. But it was grand to chat with him-and we stayed late into the night after dinner. Now I am wondering if I am going to make a(yet another) monthly trip to Las Vegas each month should he decide that he wants to hold rentboy.com monthly dinners there-I wonder if there are any restaurants that would put up with us!

For Adam Smith-and any others interested,Anna Russell's Farewell concert has been saved on DVD available via amazon(I bought 3 copies for friends who have only heard her on recordings) for $23 and it has the 18 minute Ring cycle and the Gilbert and Sullivan monologue also. I am betting these are on Youtube also-I just cannot find it right now. I am seriously debating on abandoning my tix for Die Walkurie next month.I cannot convince any of my friends to go with me

Great-I will see you all there then!

Last night I went to see the LA Opera.s new production of Das Rheingold. Not only was it torturously bad it was also just under three hours with no breaks I guess that was nothing new-that is how it is written. The music was glorious and the singing was pretty good-but the new staging by Achim Freyer was so incredibly juvenile(while trying to pass as German expresisoinsm)that the audience laughed at several non funny parts.I was embarrased for the performers And trust me-if there had been an intermission they would have lost half of the house $200 to be tortured-and I did not even get off http://theguide.latimes.com/music/la-opera...rheingold-event

I cannot belive how cheap the prices are for REALLLLLLLY nice hotels in Phoenix are for these dates! The economy has really KO'd the resort business it would seem. And the airfares are pretty cheap also-only problem is most of the non-stops are on a carrier I choose not to fly But I plan on getting there one way or another. Lurker Speaks-are there any areas that are more "fun"than others? Are there any we should avoid?

I am going to go off into "tin foil hat"territory here I believe circumcission from the very start has been a way for authority figures and women to subjigate men. I also believe that some men are so traumatized by the torture inflicted upon them by this cruel and unnatural act that it leaves a permanant mental scar. So I am always happy to see articles like the above. Thanks for the link StuCotts.

There was that Australian fella that used to hawk Shark sweepers-(I think?) but unless I am out and about I rarely stay awake long enough to watch late night TV-am I missing anything?

Great Advice TomCal, and this is still happening.Just got an email from a friend visiting Rio.Meets two guys on the beach in Copa-they chat him up,invite him out to LeBoy later on-sure enough one buys him a drink. Now It could have been nothing at all going on here-but fortunatelyI had warned my friend of this and he did not drink that drink. The two guys left shortly after this.

Snuggie cult goes mainstream! Snuggie Pub crawl in Chicago! http://consumerist.com/5157241/snuggie-pub...turday-april-18 Of course I have an even better Idea=A marching Kazoo Band in matching Snuggies and Turbans made of ShamWows! PS=I know this is twisted but I think Vince, the guy who hawks the ShamWow,is really hot!I just know he would be a dirty bit of business

Beyond The Bedroom: A Male Escort Review Primer
TownsendPLocke replied to TotallyOz's topic in The Beer Bar
Does putting him in a taxi count ? Honestly-I rarely have any desire to socialize with most of the boys I play with.Hell I rarely remember/know their names hence the lack of reviews. There have been some, and we remain friendly, that have come to be special to me. My friend Hussy loves to find special hot guys for a day long BF experience-but it has to be a mutually enjoyable thing that is off the clock. He does pay them well for play time, but the shopping(he likes to buy them clothes)dining amd shows has to be something that the fella appriciates of itself-and not part of a financial arrangement. -

Da Pope says"We are losing the notion of sin," he said. "If people do not confess regularly, they risk slowing their spiritual rhythm." So the churchie biz is kind of slow now too Funny that they lump Anger into the female camp.Very few wars are started by women and that is an(the ultimate?)expression of anger.

Who is on your new hire for 2009 list?
TownsendPLocke replied to TownsendPLocke's topic in The Beer Bar
I am betting that Jason Carter would make the one hour flight from Dallas(or you fly to him)If you wanted to play with one of the best fellas in Texas. -
Thanks for posting the proper link ACE. hope to see you in NYC

I had a real treat last night!Saw Pippin at the Mark Taper-what a fantastic show. http://www.centertheatregroup.org/ti...l.aspx?id=7702 This production is done in collabreration with Deaf Theatre West. They handled it so great! Two Pippins-one voiced and one not. Some of the actors are not voiced either and have"seconds"in the cast who speak for them. The MC is played by Ty Taylor who does a fantastic job as do the two fellas who play Pippin Tyrone Giordano and Michael Arde-in fact there was not a weak link in the cast. Jeff Callhoun has done an outstanding job directing. I saw this show 20 or so years ago as a huge stage production(With Ben Vereen and Doug Henning)-this production was pretty trim compared to that=but it works so well. It honestly was one of the best nights at the theatre I have ever had.

Unfortunately so many of my favorites are now either dead or well into middle age and not performing any more. One of my all time favorites-and one I did get to play with-is mentioned above Travis Wade. I remember so many of the William Higgins fellas fondly. One of my biggest crushes was the boy who played a skateborder whose arm was in a sling in the film The Boys of San Francisco=Tim Nolty. He only did that one film unfortunately.Long blond hair, hunky body, aggressive pressence and a very juicy uncut dick. Jason Crew and Andrew Justice are on my current lust list.

A weekend roadtrip.Pornboys,Escorts, and me at the wheel
TownsendPLocke replied to TownsendPLocke's topic in The Beer Bar
Wellllll I usually am able to fly RT lax/sfo for around $125.The drive is lonnnnnng in a van-since you cannot safely go more than 70-and usually a lot slower.Going up via the GrapeVine was 7 hours-there was an accident-as is often the case.Coming back via the 101 took 8 hours and change. So we had 8 people in the van-with a few added in SF so yes-it was cheaper to drive if you don't have any thing to do during that time. Also some of the boys were watching their pennies-so they would not have goone if it was not free/low cost. The Van Rental was the real expense-as well as the gas this monster Ford 350 used. -

Huge Dicked Twink Alert!!!! Almost forgot to mention-a friend of Brandons joined us for Brunch on Sunday.Sweet sweet boy=with a suprise! http://www.rentboy.com/listing.aspx?lid=17...sp=2&pos=31 I will have to remember that -
I had the pleasure of driving Brandon Baker and friends to San Francisco this weekend-in a 12 passenger van This was a lot of fun-mostly fun with only a touch of the drama that is associated with young folks. Went to a cool party at a converted church in the Upper Castro-while our host was as friendly and nice as could be-some of the "proper Gays"needed to take a chill pill or two. We then went out to The Heartbreakers Ball at the Stud.It has been over 20 years since the last time I was at the Stud in SF-and I had a great time(see my post in the Hot Spots forum of this site)and wiish I could have stayed longer-but I was playing chauffer the next day and wanted to be wide awake for that long ass drive(Now I know why I fly so much )since the threat of the closure of the GrapeVine meant we would have to take the long way(Highway 101)back to LA. It was a long drive-but I never felt tired since some of the boys put on a little show towards the last 90 minutes of the drive (had to force myself to keep my eyes on the road) and were pretty vocal about it all!We also made frequent stops for snacks and bathroom breaks-including a stop at the Madonna Inn which a few of the boys had never been to before. Fun weekend-but It will be a long time till I choose to drive that route again. Also makes me appriciate the serinity that ofton comes with age.
