I am looking for a new phone.Nothing really wrong with my old one except that it is seriously behind the times and the web function is glacially slow. Si at Tmobile they have two soon to be three new phones that I am considering. All of them run on Android platform. All of them are around $200,all of them would run my around $80 a month all in for a plan which would support the new tech. I am NOT interested in an Iphone. It has to be an Android or Blackberry. The first phone I got was free after rebate and the plan was around $45 and I never came close to using all of my minutes,I guess I have become spoiled and those simple times just do not look appealing at all now.

I watched RED Hereafter and For Colored Girls....... Yesterday Herafter was a total snoozefest IMO the stories were all great on their own and each could be developed into a good film=as long as Eastwood was not allowed to direct any of them Red was great-what a great cast and a total suprise considering the genre.A well done take on a far fetched stoyline. "Colored Girls..... was phenomenal. Some of the finest screen acting I have seen in years. It is a VERY serious movie and should probably be seen at a midweek daytime screening when there will not be a bunch of kids in the house. Phylicia Rashād's performance will win her an Oscar. This was one of the best movies I have seen in years.

Would it be possible to install an ignore button? If a thread is started by an annoying PIA I do not open it.However said PIA is inserting his snot filled puss into every thread lately and it has gotten to the point that I just do not want to participate in any threads anymore. Thanks in advance.

For those of you that like the younger types Twinkapolooza will be held in St. Louis(actually Illinois but I am guessing on the border?I have never been to St. Louis)at Boxers and Briefs. Looks like fun! http://www.twinkapalooza.com/

I have had a LOT of fun in that place. It is what it is. I find it to be pretty nice for a booth store

Actually your presence as well as Oz's on these boards is a major plus. One of the (many) faults of the other site is that the two principles post so little (none for the most part) real world timely experience in matters about which their IBB is based. Rather like a recovering alcoholic maintaining a IBB about current wine vintages. They can recall what wine taste like-but cannot contribute relevant information to their own board. If anything I would like to here more about your (and Totally Oz's) current adventures.

Don't worry TY you are not the only mod' here to post while in a "mood" and then regret it. The problem with this is that once posted the snarky/unwelcoming/negative/stupid post can be seen by folks who might have been thinking of joining in the conversation but then thought"why bother if this is the sort of treatment i will receive" and thus not join us. While I can hear the snarks saying"Well if he cannot take a ribbing/criticism he does not belong here in the first place"as that is one of the many defense tactics snarks/cyberbullies/mean girls use to justify their actions.Right or wrong this attitude will keep folks who might otherwise be welcome contributers to a IBB/blog/Social Network away. Just one of the many reasons I see for this community not growing and attracting new posters

As TO knows this is a subject near and dear to my heart. I have seen the suits over at Marriott destroy what had been my favorite FG(Frequent Guest) program bit by bit over the past 6 years. It is know a ghost of its former self and I have gone from 60 nights a year with them to 10-and thr only reason I still give them any business at all is because they have lodgings in places I visit that the competition does not(I"do"SPG and Hyatt and a wee bit of IHG as well as Marriott)as of now. My Main program now is SPG.I have been plat. with them for 5 years now(after I saw the writing on the wall at Marriott)and was a general member before that. They treat me really well for the most part and have a good mix of lodgings in most of the cities I visit. This year I started up seriously with Hyatt. The customer service at Hyatt remind me of how customer service at Marriot used to be.Hyatt has a really Good FG program amd has just introduced a pretty good branded Credit Card via Chase.I am aectually typing this from a room at a Hyatt. OZ mentions his bennies at IGH. He has reached a level called Royal Ambassedor with IHG this is still one of the best of the top tier FG programs-but comes at a cost that many travellers will not see worth the bother/expense. It is an invitation only level. One gets invited by giving enough nights per year and spends enough $$$$ to get noticed.Hyatt has a similar program. Marriott pretends too with Platinum Premier but it falls way short of the mark. Hyatt will happily match your status with SPG and Marriott-give them a call

I for one DO have a problem with girls in gay bars. Last winter in San Francisco I was with a large group of friends and we visited several bars in the Castro.I got fed up with the screaming/yelling/stupid behavior of the girls present that I finally had to excuse myself and head to the stud by myself to be in the company of men. I have witnessed girls in bars with dancers many times-all I can say is NO THANK YOU! They all think it is a damned bachlorette party. And of course they do not tip anywhere near what guys do-but they demand a LOT more attention from the dancers. Not to say there should not be a place for gay boys and girls to socialize-but it does it have to be at every single venue? Of course if a straight guy tried this sort of behavior at a lesbian bar he would quickly be shown the door.

For most books I go through a shopping portal(Frequent flyer mall or cash back depending who is offering the best deal)and shop at ABEBOOKS.COM you would be suprised to find out how much you save=and you are still supporting small busineses in many cases.

Still waiting for a great price on a Toshiba 13 inch for traveling. I am getting such grief for not getting into the Fruit on the Front cult. -

Hee Hee- I actually bought the HP 17.3 from Staples! Only difference was mine does not have bluetooth and 320 instead of 500 memory. Mine was $500 after a price match. -
GREAT Italian film out now-I Am Love with wonderful food scenes http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1226236/

I have often seen good deal on computers at "non computer stores"such as office supply places. Well the other day I had to take my desktop in to have a virus removed(thanks Norton ) and I decided to try Staples since I am boycotting Best Buy. While there I looked at the laptops they had on display and the tech guy I had just dealt with came over to talk with me.He said he was very impressed with this lappie and the price they had was excellent. I went online and checked out the lappie and it turned out the price was far below what I could find online and I decided to buy it. The next day I found an ad for a big thec store which had the same lappie at a lower price and decided to see if they would price match. Not only did they give me the lower price they threw in a lot of stuff for free/heavy discounts. I also have made a good friend with the young Tech guy who was honest, bright and most importantly non condescending-a rare bird amongst IT folks. So if you are looking for a computer or for tech stuff you might want to look outside of the regular places.

Being the "Confirmed Bachelor Uncle"at a wedding
TownsendPLocke replied to TownsendPLocke's topic in The Beer Bar
Yes it does.I think it will get better with each passing year as more "everyday"Gays are put on TV. Of course this makes those who hate/fear even more nervous and thus the reaction from the nutjobs will be more intense also -
Attended an evening of Grand-Guignol theatre at the Taper tonight with thier presentation of The Lieutenant of Inishmore http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/culturemonster/2010/07/theater-review-the-lieutenant-of-inishmore-at-the-mark-taper-forum.html It was some sort of"Gay Hollywood"night as there were an awful lot of "those types" in the crowd Chris Pine did a great job BTW

Has it really been 10 years since the first Hooville dinner?
TownsendPLocke replied to TownsendPLocke's topic in The Beer Bar
Turns out it was a senior moment and a typo! He is just 26 today. So we are not as old as we thought we were -
I paid him $150 back in the mid 80's. I don't know how much real estate you could buy with that!

Help out an old man who has senior moments please A working boy friend of mine has his 28th birthday today. He was at the first Hooville dinner at Numbers and he was 18 then.So either my numbers are wrong,my math fuzzy,or has it really been 10 years? I do miss those dinners.I made some great friends from them and loved getting to know many of the working fellas on a social basis.Unfortunately the economy/lack of suitible venues/and a general melt down of IBB's(due to the explosion of social networking sites such as FaceBook IMO)it has become next to impossible to wrangle enough folks together for a dinner like the one's we used to have in the good old days.
