I feel bad for Stu in that he didn't appreciate this thread but it seems to keep on churning. Don't worry about Daddy, btw, he has a great sense of humor and can give a big bellylaugh when his chain is being pulled. I'll make this my last post on this thread so we can move on. I do have boxes of pix of guys, many Asian, but I have never scanned them into the computer. If I can ever get away from posting long enough, maybe I will do that...

God knows I ignore him. Damn fool thinks that some lighthearted stuff can have a go over here. Doesn't he know that this is the serious board? By God, next thing he'll be posting pix of twinks, for chrissakes.

The New York Times featured several articles for gay pride week, one of which will please the Asian lovers here: http://travel.nytimes.com/2009/06/28/travel/28heads.html

Stu (the real one) suggests above that I am miffed at him. I am not. I thought he would get a kick out of my taking his enjoinment seriously but light-heartedly. Since he didn't, I hope he is not miffed at me. It was all meant to be in good fun. We have to remind ourselves not to take these boards too seriously. It's just a group of guys trying to have some good times. We tease, we prod, we provoke, and everybody gets their say. In the end, some nice camaraderie develops. I think...

Is Stu in a stew? Well, he can lay the blame at his own feet. Here's what he said: "I enjoin anybody who has in mind a frivolous topic for a thread to activate it." So I did. A thread by "a" Stu Cotts, not this one, seemed pretty frivolous to me. Read it in tandem with the other frivolous thread about "a" totallyoz on twitter. Nothing mean about it when I just took up his own suggestion. How was I to know he had no sense of humor?
-
Geez, grumpy, you want frivolous, I give you frivolous, and you are still not happy.

I haven't tried Twitter, and I doubt that I will, but you can follow (a) totally oz and see what he says moment to moment: Profile_bird Hey there! TotallyOz is using Twitter. Twitter is a free service that lets you keep in touch with people through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing? Stu Cotts wanted less bleak topics discussed here, so what better to do than find one by a Stu Cotts? Posted by: Stu Cotts | Aug 23, 2006 5:16:47 PM Being a former TSA Officer I challenge everyone to step into the shoes of a TSA Officer and view those images. I'll bet eveen the best of you WILL FAIL!!! The TIPS images are a training tool developed to assist the officer in identifiying images to make them more proficient not to be perfect. The media is so quick to put blame on someboby, why don't you try praising the TSA Officers for a change. If it is so easy why don't YOU apply and see how easy it really is! I started with the agency from the begining and I will tell you this, not even the Federal Security Directors, the senior leadership of TSA nor the contractors who developed the system can get all the images, matter of fact they fail more than not. The one those TSA Officers do not need is the media always ragging them on the job they are doing. Why don't you, the media, pick on someone like let's say the oil companies for price gouging!

"I'm off this subject. It's just too bleak for a group called gay. I enjoin anybody who has in mind a frivolous topic for a thread to activate it." Well, gosh, just who started this bleak topic? And since when did we shy away from difficult subjects? Maybe I'll start a thread on train overpasses- that'll get this site hopping!

When I was young, I was pretty much the same way. When a 45 year old Asian hunk wanted to have sex with me, I was appalled. He was so old! I used to wonder where the men over 40 went because they certainly didn't go to the bars I went to. Now I know that their ears couldn't take the music, much as mine can't now. Plus I can't stay up that late. Isn't it to be expected that each generation has to learn for itself? Would we really want today's youth to be carbon copy's of us? On a similar subject, here's a look at what could be OUR future- gay men in nursing homes, with liberation being just a memory: http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/c...0,3287548.story

You guys can wax poetic about the rain, but summer is at hand. It's not a poem I like, but I do like this Sinatra song: The summer wind came blowin' in From across the sea It lingered there to touch your hair And walk with me All summer long we sang a song And then we strolled that golden sand Two sweethearts and the summer wind Like painted kites, those days and nights They went flying by The world was new beneath the blue Umbrella sky Then softer than a piper man One day, it called to you I lost you I lost you to The summer wind The autumn wind And the winter winds They have come and gone And still those days Those lonely days They go on and on And guess who’s sigh`s His lullabies through nights that never end My fickled friend, The summer wind The summer wind warm summer wind Mmm the summer wind

The title turned me off as well. I did see The Proposal and found it delightful. Friends forced me to the Year One movie, but we all agreed after 15 minutes that we couldn't stomach anymore of its unbelievably stupid humor.

It took about three weeks for the fourth film to arrive. Once again, the guys on the box are not the ones in the movie. The actual guys are not too hot. No more $19.95 movies for me!

Some olive branch- it doesn't include full health benefits. Even two federal judges have stated that their gay employees are entitled to health benefits for their partners, but Obama won't do it. So what are the actual benefits being extended? See http://www.nytimes.com/2009/06/17/us/politics/17gays.html?hp

No-flush niacin is minimally effective, but i hated it. Now I take prescription fish oil capsules. The brand name is Lovaza and the oil is pharmaceutical quality. There is none of the fish reflux as with the cheap over the counter brands, and my cholesterol and triglycerides went down dramatically.

Few things in life remain static. People who join message centers often stay for awhile and move on. Sometimes we know the reason, sometimes, and most often, we don't. It's a mystery how some guys just seem to disappear. they are gone before you know they are gone! I've known guys who stopped posting because of illness, lost interest in the site, or they have stopped hiring escorts. We see it here at MER where sometimes the conversation moves nicely only to be followed by some real dry spells. I can't tell you why that is, but one guess is that people have other things to do and they drop in when they can. Hooville is seeing many new posters, and management has never been as laid back as it is now, so, I guess for me it is a process of getting to know the new guys and I'll probably find out that they are much the same as the old guys.

I'm still having no trouble getting on to Daddy's site, and no one else has posted a problem, so let's hope that lurkerspeaks will find it an easy task when he tries again Someone sent me a message about my comment above, and I realized that it could be taken to infer that I didn't find cameraderie at the Hooville site. That isn't what I meant. These sites see a constantly changing flow of people, and sometimes I miss those who have moved on to other things, especially when I had developed a rapport with them.
-
I had no trouble getting on the site, so I hope that lurkerspeaks met just a temporary glitch. As it turns out, I like having the two sites, as each has its own personality. This site often has some pleasant conversations on topics that interest me, and you can count on things staying civil. Daddy's site has lost some of the cameraderie of previous years. I miss that.

At least I can contribute something to this thread: http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/2009/may/2...iew-god-society (Incidentally, the solution was to Google the author's name in quotes, then add the word Guardian.)

More proof that you can never predict the direction a thread will take, even when you are the OP!

Three of us, all with different viewpoints, saw this show last night and we all liked it. Hustler lovers will enjoy the performance of the actor playing the Latino hustler in Times Square, circa 1994. (I left my playbill in LA, so don't have the actors' names) The show involves a virgin lawyer who is very nervous about having sex with a guy, much to the frustration of the hustler, but they do eventually fall in bed together. We expected that it would be the lawyer who fell for the hustler, but it was the other way around. The poor hustler also suffered the attachments of a young teen runaway, who wanted to be called "baby" and only needed to take care of his hustler friend. The love was unrequited, as was the hustler's love for the lawyer. If all that seems a bit odd, well, it is. The show has many flaws, but it was never boring, and the actors all performed well, with great sincerity. Only 2 of the 3 showed their dicks, but that was okay as none of us wanted to see baby's. The show runs for one more week.

TJ is taken, at least if one considers the posts at Hooville by rentingdad.

In his signature line, Adam Smith say "timor mortis conturbat me." Even with 5 years of Latin, I had to look that one up, not that I didn't get the gist of it. What I learned is that it is a phrase part of a bigger prayer, one which explains to me, at least, what might lead one to utter the words. Here is the longer version: Peccantem me quotidie, et non poenitentem, timor mortis conturbat me. Quia in inferno nulla est redemptio, miserere mei, Deus, et salva me. These words could easily apply to many who post in these forums, but no one would doubt that Adam has a claim to them. After all, the translation is: "Sinning daily, and not repenting, the fear of death disturbs me. Because there is no redemption in hell, have mercy on me, O God, and save me." Well, by these terms, at least there will be plenty of companions in hell with him, probably not the least being his favorite escort. That is, of course, if one accepts that fucking daily is a sin, and not a gift from God!

As for xtube, I don't like it anymore. It seems that now it is all commercial clips. Where are all the guys next door showing off their junk? Also, the categories are still there for photos, but not for videos, so it is harder to find the kind of stuff that I want to watch.

The third of four tapes (DVD) arrived a week after the first shipment. No word on the final DVD. All three DVDs have hit the trashcan. This is not the fault of the company I ordered them from, as they did their part of the job by sending them, however tardy. I just need to buy better DVDs, and I guess to get them I have to spend more than $19.95. Two of the Discs are white guys fucking Asian guys, something you would never have known from the cover, which shows no white guys at all. They are kind of ugly as well. I didn't like the way the movie was done, with the white guys being rather brutal towards the Asian guys.
