Huffington Post is having some fun showing unintentionally homoerotic ads of yesteryear. Try it, it's fun!: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/08/13/the-most-homoerotic-vinta_n_663796.html

The WSJ today has an article on new designs in shirts that change color when the temperature changes. Some actually show slogans when you sweat. Cool, huh? There is even underwear that features plastic dots that are meant to improve the wearer's posture. Scientists are are working on developing fabrics with sensors that can track changes in blood pressure, pulse rates, and other signs of stress, as well as signs that a wearer is falling down. What will they think of next? Underwear that cleans up semen spots or even skid marks? Read the whole article: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704164904575421600825787966.html?mod=WSJ_LifeStyle_Lifestyle_5

Who said it couldn't get worse? The economy is tanking world wide and governments are cutting spending. Mortgage rate are as low as they have ever been, but sales aren't anything to brag about. Foreclosures and short sales are the main way houses get sold these days. Predictions for the housing market are that prices will drop another 10% as banks sit on a trove of foreclosures they are afraid to flood the market with. Unemployment? Where would we get new jobs in this economy? There are several posters who know more about economics than I do, so what do you guys think? Any hope out there? http://www.nytimes.com/2010/08/12/business/12markets.html?hp

Google says that if you are going to commit an evil crime, your anonymity on the internet should not be inviolable. But what determines an evil crime? Some would say that hiring escorts is such. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/08/10/eric-schmidt-privacy-stan_n_677224.html

I didn't know Charlie could sing! It's odd to click on "Lucky's Place." But I appreciate the support registered here. Now the Challenge continues, to post and make the forum a big success.

He's apparently hunkier than ever judging by the shirtless pic taken this weekend, and here is one girl's story of sex with him: http://dlisted.com/node/38373

Well, I was really surprised this morning when a very cute escort came to my door, stripped naked, and announced that I had 3 choices. I could get fucked by him, I could fuck him, or I could have the Pub renamed for me. Well, of course I quickly sent him on his way. As Oz points out, this is a temporary honor. The forum is indeed a collective effort and we all need each other to make it a pleasant place to be. I am glad that matrix saw fit to post, we need him too. Soon the forum will carry someone else's name, and I will be happy to support that person as well.

I found this at kennethinthe212.com. It's a scene from the movie Gimmee an F, showing a hot stud doing a shower room dance in his undies...and less:

Mexico's Supreme Court ruled on Thursday that that Mexico City's gay marriage law was constitutional, a ruling called evil by the local cardinal. From AP: Cardinal Norberto Rivera sharply criticized Mexico's Supreme Court on Sunday for upholding a law allowing homosexuals to marry in the capital, calling the ruling ''aberrant'' and ''immoral.'' The Roman Catholic archbishop said it was wrong to go against Christian doctrine that recognizes only marriages between a man and a woman. ''The church cannot fail to call evil evil,'' Rivera said in a statement. On Thursday, the Supreme Court on an 8-2 vote upheld the constitutionality of gay marriages in Mexico City under a law passed by the state legislature. The federal government had sought to nullify the law. The Federal District is the only part of Mexico that allows gay marriages. The city government said last week that since 320 same-sex couples had married since March, 173 of them male and 147 female. Rivera said homosexuals have suffered abuses from the broader society, but argued that allowing same-sex marriages is not the way to try to atone for such injustices. He called same-sex unions ''inherently immoral,'' saying they ''distort the nature of marriage raised by Christ to the dignity of a sacrament.''

Good Thing Hotels Don't Charge For Left-Behind Chargers

I found this out by actually forgetting a charger. The lost and found showed me the box and said "help yourself!" -
The book Stiff was Mary Roach's fine effort to tell you everything you ever wanted to know, and many things you didn't,about cadavers. She followed that with Bonk, giving details of sex that were fascinating if not always titillating. Now she comes out with Packing For Mars, with details of space travel the average person has probably given little thought to. How do you control body odor on a long flight into space? Vomiting into a space helmet? Astronaut Jim Lovell told the author that the Gemini 7 mission was like spending two weeks in a latrine. But it's not all body and smell, there's off-planet mating, the denial of an astronaut's request for a blow-up doll- not for moral reasons but because they would have had to plan time for its use. Roach tells us what happens to the human body as it breaks apart at high speeds, and the effects of radiation on the astronaut. If my little summary has whetted your interest, then go to today's NY Times for the book review, which is where I got my information. Then, like me, you can decide if you can handle the whole book: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/08/08/books/review/Lord-t.html?_r=1&ref=books Need more? Here's a pretty fascinating excerpt from the book: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/08/09/books/excerpt-packing-for-mars.html?pagewanted=2&ref=review

I have never gone to a Best Buy and walked out satisfied. The staff seem to go out of their way to ignore me, and when I do grab one of them, they can't get away fast enough. Of course, I probably shouldn't be grabbing them by their balls, but, hey, I want their attention! My current problem is the nice printer I bought. It had a paper jam, and in clearing it I dislodged a wire. I can't see where the wire connects as it does so underneath something. Best Buy doesn't fix printers, and the shop I called wanted $68 just to look at it. A straight nephew is coming over this afternoon and I intend to challenge his masculinity by daring him to fix it. (Just kidding on the latter part.)

Interesting/strange comedy at the Taper in LA
Lucky replied to TownsendPLocke's topic in The Beer Bar
Summer is always a slow time for theater, unless "summer theater" in an old barn is your idea of fun. I saw an amateur production of Love, Valour, and Compassion that made me cringe at times, but the cast tried hard. Later this month I will see Robin and the Seven Hoods at the Old Globe in San Diego. It's supposed to be Broadway bound. And, incidentally, the Old Globe is doing Broadway Bound and Brighton Beach Memoirs in repertoire this fall, and I have tickets for that as I really liked these shows years ago. The Palm Canyon Theatre in Palm Springs starts their fall season next month with (sigh) Cats. I did discover a website that looks pretty good, listing southern California theater events: www.performingartslive.com
