Sao Paulo: Gay Brazil at its best
Lucky replied to TotallyOz's topic in Latin America Men and Destinations
I, too, like Sao Paolo and would love to have a guide to show me more. My wallet would have to agree with that too. I did use Danilo once, but he flaked out the next time. -
Wassamatter? Can't see him on you weekly September trips?

Frank Rich has a masterful column this Sunday on the subject: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/08/22/opinion/22rich.html?hp

Lurker, I asked Oz a similar question a few days ago, and if I remember, he said he could not draw the statistics for that kind of time frame. but we all know 2 things: 1. That posting is up over previous times, and 2. We're having a lot of fun here. Summer is a slow time for message boards, I submit, as people want to get outside and do other things, so, if we keep the momentum going, then only good things remain to be found in the fall. Why not add a new twist to the Challenge: See if each of us can bring one new poster into the mix by the end of August. I thought whipped guy was going to be posting here, but he hasn't so far. So let's look to see who else we can find to join us now that things are moving along so well. So, if you get someone new to post here, be sure to have them say that you were their sponsor...or motivator...or financial backer!

Another interesting email from Frat Boy Tricks: http://fratboytricks.com

I wrote to Jherrod Lopez and wanted to hire him when I was in San Diego. He never replied, which is my loss, I think. I was going to post a pic to explain my point, but I see that the pix in his review have been removed. He is/was quite hot. -
There is no doubt that, in my case, the doctor got the shot in the right place. I could feel my sciatic nerve react as it went in. Now I am seeing the chiropractor and doing the back exercises that will keep me in shape. At least, that is the goal. this article does not discuss the number of injections needed, but does give a good overview of how epidurals can be helpful in cases like mine: http://www.spine-health.com/treatment/injections/lumbar-epidural-steroid-injections-low-back-pain-and-sciatica

Now that I am fine again, I can share this pick of me doing my morning exercise;

Well what are you saying, Oz? That I lied? I wrote of my experience in Pattaya, and I have been there 13 times. On the last visit, the boys were the youngest I had seen in any of those visits. You might have just said that your experience has been different than mine rather than say I am totally incorrect. I also have the suspicion that what I define as young you do not so define.

What happens if I wear a red shirt to the bars?

Oz, to each his own. I know others who like lady boys, but they are not for me. I want a man, not a boy, not a shemale, but a guy who walks, talks, and thinks like a man. Of course, he has to fuck like a man, or take it like a man...
-
Oz, i am seeing a guy here that I like. he told me that with epidurals it is necessary to have more than one if i want long-lasting relief, so I will at least get the second one. But thanks to all for the advice and information.

Now bed bugs have been found in the Empire State Building, which once survived King Kong, so they won't be too worried about this. I hope that when you read my thread, you also read the linked article in the NY Times on how people with bedbugs are being stigmatized. From the Daily news: BEDBUGS BY THE NUMBERS New Yorkers who've had an infestation in their home: 11% New Yorkers with a close friend or relative who had bedbugs: 28% New Yorkers who've had an infestation at work: 9% New Yorkers who’ve seen bedbugs at a store: 9% Average home cleanup cost: $1,310 New Yorkers who think the city is doing too little to deal with bedbugs: 46% Bedbug problems by age: Under 45: 15% 45 or older: 8% Bedbug problems by race: White: 6% African-American: 12% Latino: 10% Results from a Daily News-Marist poll of 809 adults. Margin of error plus or minus 3.5%. Photo by AP. Read more: http://www.nydailynews.com/ny_local/2010/08/21/2010-08-21_empire_bedbug_building_parasites_found_in_one_small_area.html#ixzz0xFKY8cQD

Bedbugs. Tons of them. All over New York, infesting even the hoity-toity places. The Abercrombie boys, standing haughtily in their latest fashion, with Fitch boldly written on their itchy sweaters cannot get naked for fear of showing what they have- bites, and lots of them. Grinder and Manhunt are virtually shut down as New Yorkers refuse to visit apartments that might not be safe. Even church pews, long a place of refuge, can now harbor New York's latest scourge. Dare to go to confession these days? Do it over the phone, as Father doesn't want you bringing your bugs into his confessional. A towel offered at the gym? I don't think so. So, is it even safe to visit New York? After all, besides terrorism you would have to mingle with the afflicted. Could you hug your host in comfort? Could that fancy hotel be just waiting to give you some souvenirs to take home? Why chance it? Come to Palm Springs and bask in 112 degree heat- so hot that even the bedbugs won't come here. "I picked up the pillow and smothered him until he was dead".

restless, I am sorry for posting something that upset you. LOL, no I am not, I stand by it! -
A couple of years ago I went to physical therapy after many chiropractor visits. The guy was great. his objective was to teach me how to avoid the problem, not to keep me coming in to see him. So he gave me some simple exercise to do when the back started acting up. It worked well for the two years- not a single chiro visit. But, almost ten hours in a compact car did my back in to the point that I had to have some relief. Besides the shot, I am doing chiro again. I think the spacing of the shots is up to me, with two weeks being the minimum time.

What about Lyndon B. Johnson- the last effectual president the US had, and the one who led the great civil rights reform?
-
On July 3d I put my back out, and it made me miserable for weeks. Finally, last week I went for an epidural, which is essentially a cortisone shot into the afflicted area near the spine. It was my sciatic nerve that was being pinched, and boy that shot hit it just right. Now I feel re-born, almost young again as I can bend over on command. (Boy, was the bf frustrated when I couldn't!) So, have you had this procedure? How long will it last? They say I need two more, spaced two weeks apart. But I feel fine now...can't you see how much cheerier I am?

So, now that we can't buy just about anything not mad in China, what recourse do we have? I bought a TV this week. All the models were made in China. Wanna buy dog food, it's mostly made in China with God knows what. MS- I feel for your nephew having too spend time in Ho Chi. I was there 2 years ago and the place is pure chaos. Lots of young people, all on miniscooters that take over the roads and allow no pedestrians, at all. Going to Chinatown we couldn't look at any shops because of the bikes riding up on the sidewalks in every direction!

Another movie I watched (for the second time) on Netflix was Trick. Boy, that's a good one.

I remember waiting in line to see the Blue Lagoon at the Cinerama Dome in Los Angeles. All the gay guys were quite excited, including me.

Remember Ray Gosling, the BBC guy who went public with killing his suffering lover many years ago? "I picked up the pillow and smothered him until he was dead". He repeated the claims in a later interview, and now, it turns out it was all a lie. Investigation shows he couldn't have done it, so police are considering charging him with "wasting police time." http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2010/aug/20/ray-gosling-charged-partner-aids From towleroad.com: Said Gosling regarding the charges: "I'm sorry if the police think they wasted their time. It was a small item on a regional TV programme, Inside Out, to my people, with whom I have had an intimate relationship. It got out of hand that winter evening. I had had a week or two talking to people who had told me of the pacts they had had – some fulfilled with wives, lovers, husbands, who were dying in pain and some told me of pacts unfulfilled. I did not expect it to cause this fuss, I'm not joining any cause. I know what some people say, that I said what I did for publicity to promote a book I'm writing. That is absolutely not true, I haven't finished the book yet. Some people say I did it to revive a dying career. I didn't. I said it out of my heart, out of my feeling for people who had told me their intimate private stories and it got out of hand and I'm sorry."

Other gay films I have enjoyed from Netflix are: The Single Man Eating Out: All You Can Eat Eating Out: Sloppy Seconds Camp Boy Culture Shelter There were others, but these I rated highly.
