  1. Google spent $500,000 to clean up after a hacker attack. How many smaller websites could afford costs like that? http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/12/14/f-b-i-memos-reveal-cost-of-a-hacking-attack/?ref=business

    Made In China

It isn't just that you can't buy anything anymore that isn't made in China, it isn't that we owe them a trillion dollars, it's also that we are dependent on them for at least the next 15 years for valuable minerals that we need!! "The United States is too reliant on China for minerals crucial to new clean energy technologies, making the American economy vulnerable to shortages of materials needed for a range of green products — from compact fluorescent light bulbs to electric cars to giant wind turbines." Feeling Old

When guys who are nowhere near old talk about how old they are, then us real old guys feel even worse. You are not old until you hit 62, that's my opinion. Or until you have picked 4 or more books to read in one year only to discover when reading them that you have already read them. I picked up a book at the library and was reading merrily along when things started seeming familiar. The saving grace is that each book was good enough that I finished them anyway.

  7. I'll put this here as it involves church politics, well, sort of.How does the Catholic Church sort out the various sightings of the Virgin Mary reported each year? Well, very slowly, it seems. 151 years after a Wisconsin woman reported seeing the Virgin, the Church has now declared her sighting "worthy of belief." This is the first sighting in the US to receive this level of approval. http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-virgin-mary-20101215,0,3640315,full.story The woman was so taken with this apparition that she became a nun and devoted her life to following the instructions given to her at the time by the Virgin. The Church acknowledges that many, if not most, Catholics are skeptical of such apparitions, which lose value when someone claims to have seen her on a cheese sandwich, that the bureaucracy runs slowly. This affirmation was moved along when the Pope was a cardinal and had supported the approval. The question is left as to why the Virgin appearances always seem to be in remote situations before rather simple people, not that this is a bad thing. But I'm sure Oprah would be happy to host her on her last show. Could it happen, especially now that Oprah has denied being a lesbian?
  8. So you just click on the escort and then load him? What a great idea!
  9. Gawker today shows photos of Bush Field in Indianapolis, once home to the Indianapolis Indians minor league team, and now a decrepit graveyard for the cars taken in on the cash for clunkers program. Years and years ago, ok, well, I was 15, I was an usher at the park (then named Victory Stadium) for home games. I took fans in the fancy seats to their spots, wiped the seat off for them, and occasionally received a small tip on top of my $2 a night pay. I once even received a $2 tip! So take a look at the stadium as it is now, and get a glimpse of my past, a clunker now: http://jalopnik.com/5713098/the-baseball-stadium-turned-to-clunker-graveyard
  10. No, more like pixel dust!
  11. When I said that the reviewer had reviewed Ben before, I had misread the situation. The review says that jizz has one review, of Ben. I took that to mean he had one review prior to this, but it is not the case. This is his first review of Ben, which would fit into the facts he gives in the review as well. So sorry, but it does keep the thread running!
  12. Looking at the Naked Sword, in the privacy of my own home, it does look like the ticket. Thanks.
  13. Epigonos, please note that the reviewer thinks Ben is HOT HOT HOT, not just hot Hot HOT! (inside joke)
  14. Review #17 comes up, and if that is the new one, (it's dated 12-10) it is by jazzed4jizz, who has reviewed Ben before. He likes him! Here is the essence of the review: Experience: I've been in lust with Benjamin Nicholas for quite a while so I was so excited when I had a trip to San Antonio and I could meet up with him. I emailed him immediately making sure that he was going to be around (he seems to travel a lot), I crossed my fingers. He responded quickly confirming that he would be in town. Yay! In the coming weeks he and I traded a few emails confirming arrangements (and building anticipation). I was hooked. So the night came when we were to meet. I was actually feeling nervous. Right on time there was a knock. When I opened the door there he was. Taller than I thought he would be, gorgeous and hot. He came in and from there it seemed that we'd known each for years. We talked for a while. He's really an amazing conversationalist. In a short time I felt a connection. I really like to fell a connection with someone to make the sex enjoyable. Ben really came through. He excused himself and went to the bathroom. When he came out, the game was on. We started kissing. Boy can this guy kiss. We kept pulling at each other finally getting undressed. We got down to our underwear. Ben was wearing small white briefs that showed the beauty of his amazing ass. I really could not keep my hands off him. That body is a treat. Just being able to run your tongue over those muscles and ending up with a mouthful of his marvelous cock was so hot. And when he took my cock in his mouth, I almost lost it. Thank goodness I didn't because we continued to have a hot oral session then he suited me up and lowered himself onto me. I saw stars as this amazing man moved up and down on my cock. He then got up and turned around and offered me that prized butt. And I gladly dived in. Fantastic! I might have an addiction to Ben's body. I know when I think about him I get this raging hard on in the most embarrassing moments. Obviously I recommend Ben. Not just because he's crazy hot or that he's a great kisser but because I really like him as a person. Though I wouldn't turn down the opportunity of having that amazing body naked next to me again. ty great sex. Quality time with no bullshit quality guys is exactly what you will receive. Just plain and simple…..HOT HOT HOT.
  15. I would like to buy the bf some time at a site such as Naked Sword or similar manhunk site. Are there any that stand out as better than the others? My tastes differ so I am not familiar with these sites. I like Cam4, and if I ever paid, it would be for Bel Ami. But he likes MEN, such as me, of course, so what might the recommendations be?
  16. He's a pretty one.
  17. A graffiti artist, also now known as a "tagger" is being mourned in Los Angeles after he was killed at 4 am yesterday after having successfully "tagged" a freeway median with two other young men. As they fled the scene of their art, one of them, a 20 year old, was hit by a car that had just merged into the lane he was running in. The police detained the other two taggers, but apparently the car driver got away. No mention of a search was made in the news report: (NewsCore) - A 20-year-old graffiti tagger in Los Angeles was killed early Saturday morning when he was hit by two cars, the Los Angeles Times reported. Raul Garcia Jr. and two other men were tagging the center divider of the 710 Freeway near Compton at the time of the incident, according to the California Highway Patrol. About 4:17am, they ran across the freeway with Garcia's two companions making it safely. However, Garcia was hit by a Nissan Maxima and was thrown into the next adjacent lane, where he was hit by a second car, which drove away. Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other two men were detained by police. The incident shut down all four lanes on a stretch of the 710 Freeway for two hours.
  18. Hackers hit websites owned by Gawker media today, shutting them down. The hackers also discovered the names of users at the site who used the word "password" as their password! If kids can shut down Gawker media, can they shut down MER? http://www.nytimes.com/2010/12/13/business/media/13gawker.html?_r=1&hp Gawker responds: Our user databases appear to have been compromised. The passwords were encrypted. But simple ones may be vulnerable to a brute-force attack. You should change your Gawker password and on any other sites on which you've used the same passwords. We're deeply embarrassed by this breach. We should not be in the position of relying on the goodwill of the hackers who identified the weakness in our systems. And, yes, the irony is not lost on us. For tips on creating strong passwords, see this post on Lifehacker. Which is: http://lifehacker.com/184773/geek-to-live--choose-and-remember-great-passwords

  20. If Lucky's Place is not the ideal spot for this announcement, I don't know where else it would go. The dates are finally settled and we expect a good crowd this year. ALL MER POSTERS ARE INVITED.

  23. We are not communicating here. I see the charges as a red herring, or an alternative way to trash this guy for leaking the documents he did. The sex charges would be of no concern to us if he was just another Swede. It's the document leaking that is the issue. Those who think he did something awful in leaking them are using the alleged rapes as a further attempt to dirty him up. I think the leaking is something that stands apart and should be judged separately.
  24. I wondered if anyone would notice. Thanks!
  25. KYTOP and I agree! If people are serious about the deficit then just let the tax rates expire for everyone and go back to what they were 10 years ago. No need for a class warfare to result for it.
