Skip Thailand, CDC Advises
Due to a rise in COVID cases, the Center for Disease Control is advising Americans to avoid travel to Thailand, New Zealand, and Hong Kong. On Tuesday, New Zealand reported nearly 24,000 new cases, while Thailand reported nearly 19,000, according to the Bangkok Post. Under a new self-reporting system, Hong Kong had 43,000 new cases Tuesday, Reuters said. https://www.washingtonpost.com/travel/2022/03/08/cdc-travel-warning-new-zealand-thailand-hong-kong/ https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/general/2275643/18-943-new-covid-cases-69-more-deaths

Oz, I did that and signed in okay. But the problem does not come up each time I sign in so it may change.

Using Lifemiles
We once had a great trip on Eva Airlines to Asia in Business Class using Lifemiles. Never again could I find a Business Class trip that didn't require an outrageous amount of Lifemiles. Until today. R/T to Rio from LAX on Avianca for 135000 miles each. That works for me...except for a new twist. The trip takes 27 hours and stops in San Jose CR and Bogota with long layovers. If they made it easy to do stopovers I might consider that as I would avoid the layovers. But it's always been hard to do a stopover on a free Lifemiles trip, at least in my experience. Any advice?

The History Of Bottoming
My impression of the scholars writing about bottoming have never actually had the experience. I wonder why they assume that "power bottoming" is a modern thing.

The problem continues. Some days I don't have any problem, then the same log-in that worked yesterday doesn't work the next day.

Bangkok Most Popular Tourist Destination
I also looked for the poll, but didn't want to go deep into the site. A flaw in the Costco link is that they did not give a date for the survey...or actually any other info. Take it with a grain of salt, but I'll bet that the Bangkok Chamber of Commerce is adding more than salt!

Bangkok Most Popular Tourist Destination
Nice people, the knowledge that I have gone somewhere different, the history, the art, the ambiance. These are my main reasons to go.

Bangkok Most Popular Tourist Destination
Is that your only criterion for a desirable destination?

Bangkok Most Popular Tourist Destination
The February Costco Connection magazine reports that a survey by TravelMedium.com gives Bangkok the award as the most popular tourist destination in the world! Now, I am a big fan of Bangkok, but I would think that Paris might top it. There definitely is a lot of competition. Of course, most people haven't gone anywhere lately!

No Bars In New York Says Gayguides
So I went to gayguides.com to find a list of gay bars in New York City. Much to my surprise, there are none. At least that was the result of my search. I entered "bars" and "New York City." Shouldn't that have come up with a list?
