I agree that MIA is a circus and FLL is superior in many ways. However, I find it interesting that various among us either prefer or are willing to believe that carriers other than US carriers are OK or even superior. Price is NOT that determinate. Regardless I welcome their comments about various aspects of the flights and carriers they use. I certainly agree that no carrier is perfect. Here I mean safety. But, I have been scared more than once while riding on foreign carriers and that includes SwissAir, Air Caledonia and a few others. Did I mention Ansett? I have eaten in a lot of WH's as I have traveled around the SE. Generally they are predictable in the fare they offer to include a welcome when you come in the door and plenty of "background" noise with clattering plates, calling of orders, etc. while you are present. Nothing great but OK for what you expect and pay. However, there is one WH I attended because it was convenient for both me and a friend of mine to meet there once a month when he was in town. We mutually decided to abandon this WH because the food was always cold. I wrote to company headquarters and got a most unsatisfactory reply. Basically the reply said, contact the local franchisee with my complaint. If the company itself cannot suggest a remedy or control their franchisees then why is either in business in their current form? Obviously, the corporate world is out of control (just like the rest of the world). Best regards, RA1

Are they part of us or them? I don't wish to kill anyone or see them hurt but, if they are going to fight regardless, why should we continue to stick our nose in? I agree there is no hope even with a score card. But, these are amateurs fighting against amateurs. If the big bad wolf happened along (or the Soviet bear or the US eagle) they would run like rats deserting a sinking ship. Don't misunderstand.
