eeeee- I am pleased that you are still trying to get the best results possible from your CPAP. Putting the recording pump on a carpeted floor helps in two ways, one, it provides a quieter "platform" for the pump to work from and, two, it is a little further away from you which tends to make it quieter. 10 PSI seems to be a "magical" number for guys. I also think that listening to the radio or any "pleasing" noise is helpful "White" noise seems to be the descriptive term, whether it is "surf", "nature sounds" or "slot machines" putting coins in your pocket. Eventually you will find a mask that works for you and also a combination of "room situation" that works for you or so I think. Just keep trying, please. The recording pump helps the doc evaluate what is going on with you and provides some guidance about what to try or do next. I personally have no objection to limited use of Ambien. I have used it in the past but a few years ago I found that I did not need it any longer. I attribute this to putting my daytime problems aside when I go to bed partly by listening to the radio which will delineate a LOT of problems other folks have "worse" than yours. Otherwise I try to do enough during the day to become tired at bedtime. Best regards, RA1

I like them all. Pro athletes are amazing, at least some of them are. I almost can never tune into a sports program whether baseball, football or basketball without finding "someone" to watch and enjoy. Best regards, RA1 I also do not neglect NCAA sports, usually equally fun to watch.

eeyore- Please keep "struggling". There are at least half a dozen different masks that you can try. I am hoping your "pump" is quiet and a good, recording one? But, if all else fails, please go back to your doc and tell him. There are other alternatives. Listening to the radio or something with a timer on it to "ease" one into sleep can be helpful. Once asleep, the CPAP becomes "almost invisiible" so to speak. Keep reporting. Best regards, RA1

I heard part of this report this morning on the radio and the question that immediately came to mind was, how does one end up face down in a bathtub? It would be all but an impossibility for me to do so unless the tub was gigantic. I have a LOT of problems with drug use which in the US is basically epidemic, both legal and illegal. I, personally, have always thought that if I ever tried cocaine I would "instantly" become addicted. As a member of the public, I am sorry to have lost this voice and I am sorry when anyone passes before their seeming "time"; however, was not this somewhat predictable? Best regards, RA1

I have dreamed about interacting with folks close to me, especially soon after they had died. I also "felt" my puppy of 17 years walking across my feet at night after she died. Best regards, RA1

I f ound the survey interesting. Best regards, RA1

I hope you are seeing a specialist for advice about this condition. He or she can offer a variety of treatments, after a "sleep" evaluation. The CPAP has helped a lot of folks and they offer a variety of masks which you can change periodically to see if one suits you better than another. There WILL be a period of adjustment to get used to the mask. The pump does make a small amount of noise. But, once you get used to it, you will not leave home without it. You likely will be amazed about how rested you are after a very few days of use. Best regards, RA1

Keith Olbermann's show dumped by CurrentTV (Al Gore's channel)

JK- What would persuade you? If I were to provide "scientific" evidence, would you agree? I have to think not but that is no reason for us to argue. We won't live long enough for it to matter or so I think. Best regards, RA1 -
They don't know you and you don't know them. It is all anonymous, so THEY don't like your PUBLIC personna? So what? Everyone would like to be admired for each and everything they said or did but IT AIN"T GOING TO HAPPEN or, at least, not in this lifetime. Just do what you think best and evaluate any response in the same light. (They don't know what they are talking about, either.) Best regards, RA1

Important Question for all Male Escort Review Trekkies!

I agree with you that old TV shows or old movies (sometimes) don't hold up to "modern" standards but the "nostalgia" effect can be enormous. When you can say the lines in sync with the characters and know all the verses of the songs, how bad can it be? Best regards, RA1 -

TY- It was not my intention to start a ruckus. I stopped with that comment in an earlier post but your post kind of goaded me into painfully reflecting upon what I consider Gore's many faults. In effect, what you are saying is ANY SLIMEBALL could and should have done better and differently than Bush. To some extent that might be true but I cannot in good conscience decide for sure what MIGHT have happened. It is obvious what SHOULD have happened, more or less. I don't think any of the posters hereon will live long enough to know if climate change is real or what is causing it, other than a "normal and routine" variation caused by the sun and orbit, etc. of the earth. To be perfectly clear, I am hoping each and every one of us lives to be well over 100 (if they so desire). Best regards, RA1 -

I am glad your crystal ball works better than mine. I am not about to defend Bush, Jr. but from how Gore acted before and how he acts now does not make me warm and fuzzy about what might have happened. Here are some of the things that make him a fraud in my mind. Carbon tax: He lives in a 10,000 square foot mansion while claiming to offset his own carbon use with his own cabon tax company which is making him 100's of millions. Nice work if you can swing it. In the meantime some of the public thinks he is doing things to "help" the environment. While VP he not only made silly claims of "inventing" the internet, he also stated he would solve the problem of aircraft accidents. So long as aircraft are flying, that is not possible. It is a human sponsored activity and humans will make errors. I can reduce aviation accidents to zero. Ground all aircraft. My opinion is that is where he was headed. Except for himself, of course. I have personally seen him get into a biz jet with him as the only passenger. Fine with me but don't claim to be reducing the carbon footprint while "sneaking" around putting carbon into the atmosphere.BTW--the last time I saw him doing that was about 3 months ago. Should we talk about tobacco subsidies to him and his family? I guess not. I suppose we need not go into the staged polar bear scenes. That is no doubt just poetic license. I am not picking on you and you are welcome to your opinion. I hope you will do me the courtesy of the same opportunity. Best regards, RA1 -
I have already (literally) sent it around the world. Thanks. Best regards, RA1

What book from your childhood would you like to see made into a movie?
RA1 replied to TotallyOz's topic in The Beer Bar
I read Tom Swift as a boy but those were really my great uncle's childhood books. They might translate into a good movie. As a slightly "older" boy, I really enjoyed Tai Pan. Was that made into a movie? Best regards, RA1 -
Important Question for all Male Escort Review Trekkies!
RA1 replied to TotallyOz's topic in The Beer Bar
I have to go with the original, James T. Kirk. Very likely I am influenced by the fact that I watched those first run AND my career got so busy I did not have time to look at later versions and have just never "gotten into doing so" since. I believe Nurse Chapel was Gene Roddenberry's wife so that might have influenced that character. Best regards, RA1 -
Usually if I put two socks in, I get two socks out. What I don't understand is no matter which way my clothes are turned when I put them in, they come out inside out. That includes shirts, underwear and sometimes socks. Best regards, RA1

Expat- Most of the places where I use my debit card have self swipe which I think reduces the chances of the info being purloined. However, nothing is completely safe or fool proof and I defer to your insider knowledge. Best regards, RA1

One could observe the picture as "Flying Sprite" if viewed from right to left. Obviously, if viewed from left to right, it is a phallus. Are there political implications hereon? Beauty or whatever is in the eye of the beholder or seems logical and likely to me. Best regards, RA1 Mom Nature is my favorite and one I embrace at every opportunity.
