Is it part of the Darwinain "process" that the cute ones we want to have sex with will not ordinarily have children? That seems anti-selective to me. Best regards, RA1

They offer a walking tour across the top of the coathanger bridge in Sydney but it is with safety harnesses, etc. Still not for me. Just watching the guys paint it gave me near heart failure and that is a never ending job. As soon as they finish at one end they go back and start over. I realize the real name is the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Best regards, RA1

I, for one, am not insulted. What is, is. If I had any solution to the technical, business or political problems Boeing is facing (along with the whole world in a sense) I would not hide them under a bushel basket, so to speak. The bottom line is it is tiresome for the MSM and other nay sayers to try to exploit things of which they know little. Best regards, RA1

lookin- I think I missed the thrust of your first post. I was thinking of how to solve the technical problems and you were suggesting political problems. In my personal experience, the manufacturers and the FAA take turns being embarrassed about their decisions and results. Therefore, if "outsiders" meaning various politicians keep their interference to a minimum, the solution will be forthcoming sooner rather than later. It is "expected" that the NTSB will horn in with their two cents worth but that may not be as much of a hindrance as some others might be. As is often the case, the MSM is overplaying this whole issue. So, add them to the list of hinderers. Best regards, RA1

The 49er's are good but the Ravens are real scrappers and certainly beat NE at Foxboro. I have to take the points. Best regards, RA1

I bet you are taller than Tom Cruise also. Best regards, RA1

AS- Your suggestions are great. I accept. However, perhaps one should be careful about plying an 18 yo with wine. Sex may be legal but drinking may not be. Same old story about our boys in war; old enough to die for our country but not old enough to drink or vote, at one time. However, the premise of most anything to "slow him down" whether food or a game or whatever might cool his jets a little. Best regards, RA1

AS can no doubt explain how and why engineers rely upon computerized solutions better than I can but the pictures above do not exclude the "protection circuits" from "frying" that battery. Perhaps you will notice that the battery box, a safety device, did contain the battery, which is what it was designed to do. I am not an apologist for Boeing or anyone else but I realize in this modern world there are plenty of problems that are sometimes not immediately explainable. I also believe that our system, while not perfect by any means, will surmount these problems. I think you are inclined to wait and see, also. Best regards, RA1

Obviously these guys are not pilots. Most pilots have "edge syndrome" which is akin to acrophobia but is not a fear of heights but a fear of being near the edge (of a building). Strange but true. Best regards, RA1

I hate flaming out but then that is a different description for someone who flies turbine aircraft. Best regards, RA1 -
I still have periodic problems posting in a thread. I write a post and then try to "enter" it and I see the green left to right "flags" marching but they never end and I end up having to go to another part of the site and select something such as "forums" to stop it. Then I have to re-enter the post. I have somewhat ameliorated this by "saving" early on and then "editing" the post but, even that does not always work. A very real nuisance. Best regards, RA1

FEDEX cancelled its' order of A-380s but that was because the delivery date was so far advanced. Not because of the later engine problems, wing problems, etc. FEDEX will likely be the only airline to make money with the A-380 because it can stuff it full of freight while the others cannot fill it full of pax. In the meantime, the charging circuit protection seems to be under investigation as opposed to the batteries in the 787. I realize this is a silly question but why are we not willing to wait for "official" and scientific answers to whatever problems confront Boeing and the 787? In the meantime the media and those who shout "fire" in a crowded theater are running amok. Best regards, RA1

Be still, my heart. Best regards, RA1 -
We are going to hit 74 tomorrow according to the forecast and then snow on Thursday. So, one must like "variable" weather in order to enjoy living in MEM. We have our share of volitile poltitics also, so, apparently, no one is immune. Thanks for the reply. Best regards, RA1

Exit Departure tracking part of new Immigration Bill

Haven't all legal non-citizen visitors to the US always had to exit via immigration when leaving the country? In other words, validate their parking permit with the authorities when leaving. Best regards, RA1 -

Unfortunately, this is similar to several fires at nightclubs here in the US. The CopaCabana comes to mind and several others. There is no excuse, other than greed, to pack in customers in any space, never mind one that does not have adequate exit points. Best regards, RA1

One can never be too tolerant towards others, can one? I thought the thread was going to be or should have been "What would Emily Post post?" Best regards, RA1

The Boy Scouts aren't so much irrelevent as are the policies of their national so called leadership. They had a chance, years ago, to "ease" into a reasonable transition and resisted doing so. Of course, a lot of so called leaders cannot or do not see the handwriting on the wall even though "others" do. I try to be tolerant of churches and I wish they would try to be tolerant of me (and some do). Best regards, RA1
