I think must be Norman Lear you are thinking of. I was going to a combination of Norman Rockwell and Timothy Leary. Best regards, RA1

You are certainly correct, lookin, in wondering how modern companies utilizing modern technologies can have such disasterous results and especially those that are long lasting. However, do you have an adequate explanation for Firestone tires and the Ford Explorer with their roll over problems. How about cars that catch on fire? How about brakes that fail? The list can go on and on. Modern technology is a mystery or so it seems at times. Personally I have observed several of these type problems to be the result of "improved" technology which actually is "cost cutting". Boeing is likely on the receiving end of such a problem. Boeing has received a lot of criticism for outsourcing many of its' components and apparently justifyably so. However that horse has left the barn and they have to deal with whatever can be salvaged. I think that is a lot. I would prefer that Boeing and other US manufacturers reserve most of their work for US workers but the world at large is out there for compromise, isn't it? We shall see what develops, shall we not? Best regards, RA1

Sen. Rob Portman is reversing his hardline position against gay marriage.
RA1 replied to TotallyOz's topic in The Beer Bar
One can only hope that every pol and every person does not have to have a personal experience in order to change an opinion. So far, I have not had to crash an airplane to think or know that might not be a good result. Best regards, RA1 -
Anything to go abroad (at another's expense). I have seen this over and over with sports writers, especially at bowl time. Best regards, RA1

I thought I understood and agreed with you. Best regards, RA1

Zip- I certainly agree. I don't know which country started it and to some extent it really does not matter but I abhor the fact that such exists. Canada and the US have very much in common and they should be extolling each other's virtues, not trying to find fault. I have always had fun in Canada and found the citizens to be friendly. I have done my best to offer the same when I have had Canadian customers or just visitors here in my own baliwick. Best regards, RA1

I completely agree. However, who shall provide or prove that anyone is a person of good will? One such example would be when no one was armed, that would certainly include criminals. How has that worked out in England? Or, most other countries that have banned guns? My answer is, not very well at all. Sorry to say. Best regards, RA1

Maybe 16, but, I agree. Best regards, RA1

Even though I have not the experience with the gay life in CYVR that others may have, I have been there several times and can attest to it being a very interesting venue in general. There are many, many places to visit in and around YVR. All seem like fun. However, a few friends and escorts seem to have had a problem with Canadian customs who ask silly questions like, why are you here, etc. Usually the best and correct answer is for a vacation. But, the authorities might, since they have raised the question in the first place, continue on with their investigation and see if you have a "record" past or present in any US state. If so, they may not allow you into the country. I know this has happened to some. This is not intended to denigrate Canada or any such, but merely to serve as a "consideration" for any to whom it might apply. Best regards, RA1

Obits in the last several years have gone from informative and sypathethic to the ridiculous. Yours is a good example. While I am sorry and sympathetic and empathetic to whatever happened I would like to know the cause of death and whatever circumstances the family wishes to provide. Listing the survivors as well as antecedents is fine as well as listing the deceased's favorite charity, etc. Other than that, what, when and where is all that is necessary but it should be in a respectful and correct informational product. Slightly different but associated topic: Obits have become very expensive as has all "advertising" in newspapers. I won't even go into the costs of funerals and it does not matter if one is buried, cremated or shot into outer space; all are expensive. Best regards, RA1

We all choose to sin but I am sure what you mean is we do not choose to be gay and that some equate the two. Of course, they are mistaken, although I think BO "chose" to be Black. However, that is a different subject. Best regards, RA1

I am "always" scared during any portion of a flight if I am not in the cockpit. It sounds like you are praising ANA's in flight service but you do not actually say so. The USA needs to get its' act together so that it can step up from being a third world country which it is becoming day by day. All of the above depends upon one's frame of reference and please do not think I am being negative although I am sure it seems that way. Regardless, thanks for the report and pictures. I enjoyed both. Best regards, RA1

Well, I, for one, am glad it isn't another century we are celebrating. I don't know if I could live through another year of arguing about if the century started on "00" or "01". We all know it starts at "01" right? And, in closing, to quote one of our favorite Tar Heel philosophers Andy Griffith, "Pie are round, cornbread are square". Best regards, RA1

This latter day "review" makes me glad that I have never seen this but then I don't go to movies or watch them anyway. Best regards, RA1 -
So, the Greys have you under their control? Nothing surprises me these days. Best regards, RA1

The cello player you provide might indeed be grey but what does that say about Yo Yo Ma? Are you suggesting that he is a Grey? Please explain. Best regards, RA1

Why call anyone anything, unless asked? Best regards, RA1

I was asking about a cheap haircut. I am not sure what a grey face really is and I may not want to know. Best regards, RA1

I understand but downloading the latest versions or updates can sometimes change how a firewall or other software works. I have automatic downloading on some of them and "make" them "approve" the download on others. Anyway, just a suggestion. Best regards, RA1

Maybe he is a candidate to be a Lear Jet pilot. If I can hold my arm straight out and you can walk under it without touching it, you are a possible Lear pilot. It is a tight little airplane, especially getting into the cockpit of some of them. However, being able to sing and dance is not a prerequisite, on or off key. Being able to grin and shuffle may or may not be part of the Lear requirements. Best regards, RA1

Just one question: Where can I get a $2 haircut? Best regards, RA1
