  1. The Baby Ruth candy bar has a very good resemblance to "whatever" and I know what whatever is. I don't eat much candy so I am hoping I have not ruined the appetite of others for it either. Although we don't need "more" candy, do we? Best regards, RA1
  2. I am perfectly willing to let Majel Barrett. nurse Chapel and wife of Gene Roddenbury, be the determiner of whatever. I have heard an interview with her recently but I am afraid that she has passed on recently. Therefore, I think that AS and wayout and I should meet at a likely venue and raise our glasses to her and all the others we have enjoyed on these various programs/movies. Anyone else so inclined is also welcomed. Best regards, RA1
  3. We have to get together for a drink. Best regards, RA1
  4. I find the story line interesting but not necessarily very "deep". No matter that is only necessary for "some" folks. One comment I could not help but notice was the one about a man's hands. Has no one ever seen an Allegheny's flight attendant's hands? All those gals were obviously farm gals who had milked cows before becoming cabin attendants. In fact, many years ago, that was a "standard" comment about them. Lovely gals but also obviously farm gals. Not germane to this movie which sounds intriguing but I could not resist. Best regards, RA1
  5. It is almost summer here in MEM, if not officially, then by temperature. So I don't know where hope goes during. As before what happens is somewhat dependent upon the principals and clients, so to speak. The principles have been stated, now the results are in play. Best regards, RA1
  6. I got a picture of a cute Thai boy when I tried the link. You are under arrest. He looks 18-20 but from previous exposure to Asians I think he may be 25 or so. NP. Still cute. Ask him out? Yes. Propose? Depends upon what the proposition is. Best regards, RA1
  7. Because you are not a Trekkie I wonder what you would have said had you really, really liked this movie or were a Trekkie?. I was a big fan of the original TV series, a mild fan of some of the early movies, did not watch or much enjoy the succeeding TV series and have only seen one movie since. I may go to this one if it doesn't go away before I get around to it. Best regards, RA1
  8. A word to the wise who read and heed should be sufficient. One can only hope. Best regards, RA1
  9. I want to look at this but I am waiting until I have 43 free minutes to do so. I am a fan of the now gone Julia. She was a WWII spy for the US and a very entertaining cook/personality. Best regards, RA1
  10. Well, screwdrivers are made to be drunk, not left around as ornaments. Many of my early "experiments" did not survive either. I was very good at disassembling things but after that I lost interest. I had an intellectual curiosity in how they were made but obviously I was not cut out to be a mechanical engineer. Maybe a train engineer? Best regards, RA1
  11. I have to think that God made Adam and Steve also. I think that story is found in an addendum to the Bible. Best regards, RA1
  12. To state the obvious, Fruit of the Loom? Best regards, RA1
  13. This is amazing and suggests so many comments I hardly know where to start. At the beginning I suppose. "How did I end up naked in a stranger's apartment?" I think many of us have asked that question and knew the answer before the question presented itself. I, like many pilots, am acrophobic and claustrophobic. Perhaps suggesting the why of the wild blue yonder? However, the last place most passengers would want their pilot to be enjoying is a place with no time or purpose, with hallucinogenic effects. However, I am quite willing to try a "pile of tranquilized chinchillas". I suppose I am not destined to be a true believer of Zen or the like. Pity. Best regards, RA1
  14. Interesting. Most everyone seems to understand the "moral" of the grasshopper and the ant but very few do anything about it. There seems to be very little that is "natural" about economics. The theories of economics seem to entirely be man made and therefore whatever interpretation is in vogue at the moment and to some extent followed likely will provide at least some of the desired results. However, man is imperfect, just like his creation, the computer, and therefore sooner or later the theory will fail just as each of us has had a computer crash. Economics seems to be just another form of social justice and generally it will work so long as enough try to make it work. Best regards, RA1
  15. Did the lamp survive? Best regards, RA1
  16. No need to do it pro bono. The government, even in the time of sequester, hands out grants willy nilly. Now if you can just find a suitable subject named Grant or Willy or Nilly. Best regards, RA1
  17. I don't speak French but I do speak tropical paradise. Best regards, RA1
  18. Let's put it this way, if some of the posters on this site were sitting at my momma's dinner table and made various comments as recorded herein, they would be asked to excuse themselves and go to their room. Best regards, RA1
  19. Is that a looking glass or a TV stand? Pedestals are so hard to evaluate these days. Best regards, RA1
  20. I hope I qualify. I would like to see Tahiti even without an escort. I think I know a few of those starving escorts but they seem to do it willingly. Best regards, RA1
  21. Aren't the restrictions a large part of the allure? Best regards, RA1
  22. Day to day here in the New South can be entertaining enough, what with drive by shootings, rampant crime, drugs on every street corner, etc. Wait. I think that very well describes Chicago and several other big cities. I think the New South came and went soon after air-conditioning and then Yankees. Personally I live in the Mid-South. Why does every little corner have to have a name? Best regards, RA1
  23. I like the title, "Imaginary Adventures of Superman". I suppose the other adventures were much closer to real life. I think that comic book must have existed for you to describe the contents as you did. Otherwise I would think you were indulging in some seriously entertaining drugs recently. Best regards, RA1
  24. I wonder why so many are seemingly obsessed with the "other" site? I left there with over 4,000 posts and don't look back. Picking at a sore doesn't make it heal any faster, does it? Best regards, RA1
  25. Every citizen who acquired his or her money legally has the right to spend it in any legal way. Any other citizen has the right to have an opinion about whether that money was spent wisely or not. Best regards, RA1
