Thanks for the heads up. Looks like I might need to add NYC to my 2009 travel schedule.
-
How about those international male catalogs with the underwear and swimsuits. Also, in the Sunday papers, the department store underwear ads.
-
San Francisco, Chicago, Boston & Northern California Coast. Trying to stay on budget this year.

Taco Cabana & Whataburger in the South.

CitiBank thanks the American worker/taxpayer for the loan

I hope he has a hard time getting a new job. All those year end bonus's he authorized when they were in a free fall was negligent to the extreme. -
They seem like good choices, although I haven't seen Milk or The Reader or John Adams yet. I plan to see all 3. John Adams wasn't on my to see list until noting this award. Thanks, as always, Expat.

"The Other Site"seems to be having some trouble

"Daddy's and the other site, but he does complain endlessly." I agree with much that has been written here except that Daddy deserves a break. OZ you are much too generous. The histrionics are silly. Deej is a poor representative and moderator. His cynical and snarky posts are not worthy of the old Hooboys site. -
I love it too. If you were not familiar with Hugh Laurie before, then watch the English produced series of Jeeves & Wooster stories. Laurie and Stephen Fry are brilliant in the title roles. I'm also in lust with the blond actor. He's been getting less screen time lately. Hope that changes.

Let me know whether you like it. Revolutionary road is definitely a substantial movie, but I wouldn't place The Wrestler or Slumdog Millionaire in the schmaltz category.
-
Revolutionary Road was ripped off on Academy Award Nominations. Terrific performances by Kate Winslet & Leonard DiCaprio. It was an awesome study of the descent into madness. I won't say any more about that because I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it. Also a great period piece of 1950's suburban America and the male dominated corporate working environment like seen on Mad Men. I also saw The Wrestler & Slumdog Millionaire and enjoyed both movies, but think they may have suffered slightly from over hype.

Saw Revolutionary Road, Slumdog Millionaire & Revolutionary Road. I enjoyed them all but thought Revolutionary Road was the real standout and it only received a handful of Oscar nominations.

I hope you join us on a regular basis Tomcal. I always enjoyed your posts over there and you were always trying to be very helpful. In fact, I had thought that you had moved to Brazil for 1/2 the year. Maybe that's what your 4 trips add up too. Anyway...Welcome. -
Haggard is such a hypocrite. I think he's despicable.
-
I just got a Raddison Hotel in San Francisco for $44 per night on Priceline...Do check it out. Good Luck.
-
I used to love reading Big Daddy's stories. I hope you sold him on starting to post over here.
-
Most of these should see wider and new releases since they're nominated. I'm going to see a couple this weekend.

Wow, Great job Oz. Articles like the one you just shared will be very useful to newbies on the site.

Dave's really sad...he's losing one of his most popular bits.

IMHO...There's no need to stay in a seedy place (0f course accidents can happen) when you can bid on 3* or better hotels on priceline.com. Use biddingfortravel.com to get an idea of locations & rates. Good luck on your future travels.

Brandon's a sweetheart. I knew about the places in LV & LA. Where is his other pad? NYC or Lousiana?
-
Are you the Kurt reviewed yesterday. You have hot pics. Welcome to the board.

I loved Eastwood in this movie he directed. It's a weird movie though. I couldn't really get into the scenes where Clint was talking to himself. But overall a really good movie that doesn't use the usual Hollywood ending.

Unfortunately...all too true. I used to be a big fan.
