As I had previously said, I've spent alot of time in Indy over the past several years and still have contacts up there. The info I had previously heard and part of I had posted in this thread earlier, seems to go along with what the representative is saying in the lastest IndyStar story. He did not give up his Blackberry and other items willingly. Too bad he does not want to press charges but I can understand that. He just wants it to get out of the headlines and go away. The latest I hear is that this may not be the first time the "escort" has met a Gay man on CL and then backed out on the deal, taking their money and anything else he can grab. I understand he has bragged about how easy it is to rob "Queers" on Craigslist. He has the guy pick him up, sister knows where they are going or follows, waits downstairs or outside the Hotel making for a fast getaway for the escort robber. They got greedy in this case and then decided to get their 15 minutes of fame and get back at a Gay Pervert (their words that have been quoted) When the Representative wouldn't pay up after they realized who he was. The escort even had the Representatives Captiol ID. I'd say in Indy be very careful if you plan to meet someone from CL. Since the previous info I had heard matches with what the Representative said before it made the newspaper I think maybe the new info about the "escort" preying on Gay men using CL may also be true. I am sure anyone else he may have robbed will never come forward. Of course I am sure the Indy CL escort has been very happy about all the support he has gotten from the Gay Community for outing the Representative by robbing him. (Sarcasm)

Well the lastest I hear is that the Escort and Sister may also be trying to avoid an extortion charge for trying to "shake down the legislator" and there is a question as to whether the items the escort and his sister got from the legislator was given to them willfully. Especially the legislator's Blackberry with all the info and contacts it contained and knowing that any call made to the legislator would be answered by this escort or sister. The legislator's attorney is dealing with how to proceed. The issue maybe at this point is how far the legislator wants to push charges and keep this situation in the public eye longer and any more damage it will do to his family. It is noted that the legislator never denied meeting up with the escort, the issue seems to be a possible shakedown and extortion.

Well the conversation has been rather interesting to follow, as I had hoped it would be when I added my original comment. But I would like to note; the 18 year old novice escort DID NOT say he was held against his will. The legislator (John) had picked the kid up at his house, when the kid got cold feet he said John refused to give the kid a ride back to his house, grabbed the kid's butt and then moved away from the kid and dropped his towel. Mr Novice Escort stated he didn't know what to do, had no way home, "excused" himself to the bathroom and called his sister. Instead he should have walked out of the hotel room. It is obvious this was the kid's first time escorting and he found himself in over his head. Dear sister, thinks the legislator is a "Gay Creep", HER WORDS. I think she is a homophobe (of course that is just my opinion of her). I can see it now, " you creepy gay old man trying to take advantage of my poor innocent young brother. It is intersting that people seem to read what they want to into this situation based upon what THEY want to think. So defend the homophobe sister or defend the "Gay Creep" legislator (again sister's words), or defend the novice Craiglist escort that only charges $80 dollars in the Indianapolis market (actually $80-$100 would be somewhat normal there for CL, I've known strippers from the strip club there to charge $75 - $100) that gets cold feet and helps to out his John at the urging of pissed off sister. How many CL escort's family members would think anyone who hires is a Gay Creep? Alot I would think, and BTW, I had spent alot of time in Indy the last 10-15 years. I've seen some CL escorts charge less and seen people here brag about the great experience they have had from CL for little money so I don't understand why that is an issue here. One thing I do agree with Lucky about, was the Legislator trying to impress the kid by telling him too much about himself. No, I completely understand your and EXPAT's point. I asked "where do you draw the line for privacy in escorting?" You are saying if you are a politician that has voted "against" anything remotely part of a pro-gay agenda then you should be outed by your escort. That's where you would draw the line. But what if your escort decides the line should be drawn somewhere else. Like teacher, clergy, major CEO, Hollywood actor, celebrity, married family man, etc...? I think this would have happened if the John had been anyone considered of "Stature" by the sister. If the guy had said I am a teacher, principal, Priest, Government Cabinet member, etc... , I think they would have had the same outcome with this kid and his sister, even if they had been a Liberal Democrat. It is also my understanding that this poltician's main claim to fame is that he sponsored Indiana's "In God We Trust" optional license plate. His anti-gay agenda mainly involved opposing Gay Marriage (as does our President and the majority of Democrat legislators in Indiana). So what I wonder is... What if this Novice craiglist escort had been your escort and you shared too much info with him? Just adding some facts from the situation and asking a few questions for discussion here. One of my favorite escorts was located in Nashville, Tn. Nashville is known to have many annual Religious and Gospel Singing Meetings/Conventions. Actually part of Obama's problem is he isn't hardly part of the negotiations at all. McConnell is my Senator and there is again another story in our newspaper how McConnell negotiated with VP Joe Biden all weekend with a "few" short phone conversations with the President thrown in. Just like with the Tax reduction extension in December the real White House negotiations were not with Obama but with Biden. McConnell and Biden are the one's that reached a deal late Sunday. Even though McConnell and Biden are old friends that call each other by their first names, Mitch and Joe, Obama still should have shown some leadership. Instead he punts to Biden to negotiate the big issues with Congress. Around here, even my strongly Democratic friends, all compare Obama to Jimmy Carter. Weak and lacking leadership. I think Obama's number 1 concern about the debt ceiling was to just get it past his 2012 re-election campaign. As long as the agreement succeeded in doing that he didn't really give a shit what else was part of the deal.

Since the US changed their currency some years ago, the $5 bill and up have the denomination in LARGE BOLD print in one corner on the back side of the bill. When tipping a larger denomination I will fold the bill long ways with the bold amount showing up toward the dancer as he bends down to get the tip. The dancer will almost always then come to say hi after they leave the stage. Also sometimes I will give the dancer 2-$5 dollar bills instead of a ten, or 4-$5 bills instead of a Twenty. Placing each bill seperately, and getting more of his time on stage and attention. It worked again very well at Swinging Richards/ Atlanta when I was there in May.

While watching one of the cable news network's coverage of Bin Laden's death today I heard one of the best quotes on this. While asking New Yorker's on the street for their reaction on his death one guy said this: "I am very Happy that today Bin Laden found out that there was NOT 40 Virgins waiting for him." Great response!!!!

Such good News and further great news that none of our US Special Forces troops were hurt or killed even though one of the Helicopters used in the mission crashed. Now we all must brace ourselves for a possible retaliation. Unbelievable that Bin Laden was hiding in a mansion compound close to the Pakistan Capital.

Yes I pray and have a strong and firm belief in God. What I do not have a faith or strong belief in is religion. I think religion has given God a bad name. Too many people, I think especially many Gays, have a hard time seperating religion from God. Religion can be judgemental, hurtful, and sadly sometimes hateful but "God is Love." I was also raised in the church and as such had many issues with that until I was able to seperate religion from God. So yes I pray, Daily.

I commend you for taking a stand for something you believe in. With that said our country cannot continue to keep spending non-stop. Hard choices will have to be made and we elect people to make those hard choices. If they make the wrong choices we always have an opportunity in the USA to replace them, some is as few as 2 years. Most countries do not have that luxury. Now let me make a comment about the WIC program you mentioned. Just because there are cuts to the program does not mean the program is being eliminated. Now about WIC from a personal perspective. A few years ago while in the grocery line there was a young woman in front of me with several gallons of milk, large amounts of cereal, and other food itmes. She gave the cashier a WIC voucher to pay for the items. I noted that instead of the grocery brand milk (I was buying) she was getting name brand milk that cost 75 cents or a dollar more. I understand our state, that administers the Federal WIC program here, now requires the cheaper store brand to be bought saving Federal dollars. BUT, they still allow name brand cereal and other items instead of requiring the store brands. I recently visited my elderly mother and she asked me if I ate Cheerio cereal. I said not very often, Why? She said my niece, who has 2 pre-school age children on WIC, gives her cereal and Milk each month because they get more than they can use in a month. My mother now has several boxes of name brand cereal and was wanting to try to get rid of some it by giving it to me. So my mother, who the WIC program is not intended for, receives it's benefits because they give my neice too much each month. I don't blame my niece, especially since the Milk would spoil if she did not give it away. But the WIC program has also become a subsidy to the Dairy producers and companies like General Mills who benefits from people not being required to buy a cheaper store brand with their vouchers and getting more Milk than they can use. So IF the WIC program would make a small reduction in the amount of milk and cereal they are giving, which would not effect my niece's family at all, and require the purchase of the cheaper store brand cereals then the WIC program can be cut without creating masses of starving children. What is a shame is that there is probably waste in every Federal program like this and someone has to say enough and change things. As for people constantly saying "the amount is only a drop in the bucket in the whole budget". When I was in business for 30 plus years we always had a saying... pennies make dollars. I am not aware of all the details of HR 1 nor am I schooled on the details of every Government program it affects. But as for WIC, cuts can be made if you force the necessary changes and no child will be forced to starve because of it. I am sure the same can be said for thousands of other out of control Governmant programs.
