There was only one commercial I saw that had me busting out laughing for several minutes. It was a Doritos ad with a Great Dane and his owner. The owner is doing lawn work and looks over as the dog buries a small collar and tags under a tree, then pans to a missing Cat poster on a telephone pole. The Great Dane then gives is owner a bag of Doritos with a note to keep quiet, bribing him. It was hilarious.

This will make my 76 year old mother extremely happy. And me too because maybe I won't have to watch so many Reba reruns on whatever cable channel she constantly seems to find them on when I visit her.

I had voted for the Giants purely due to Eli Manning. I think he and his brother are 2 of the NFL's greatest players. Glad he proved me right beating the Patriots.

I actually thought her Lip Sink of her singing during the halftime show was very obvious and almost annoying at times.

Because the railroads from Chicago freight and auto/truck traffic from Chicago and Midwest travel use to go through Indy to get to the ports in the South and also Florida. Then most trains, freight, autos/trucks heading West from New York and New England travel through Indy going West. The freight crosses North/South - East/West in Indianapolis.

Yes, I have a strong belief in Jesus Christ, though I have multiple problems with most organized religion. It is important to me to try to pray on a daily basis and I have found comfort in that many times throughout my life. Most of my family are Baptist but my father's mother was Mormon. As for religion I just saw some interesting facts about the Mormon religion yesterday. Since Romney is Mormon that religion is more in the news lately. Mormon's have the highest per-capita income of any organized religious group in the USA. They have a very low rate of alcoholism and drug abuse compared to most Americans and have a very low rate of incareration in jails and prisons as a group.

Though not a Hoosier my home as a child and until I was 18, was less than 1/2 mile from the Ohio River and the hills I looked at everyday from my front yard were the knobs of Southern Indiana. As an adult I lived less than 2 miles from the bridge and did alot of my shopping and visited restaurants in Southern Indiana. I also had an office in Indianapolis for about 10 years and was there in a hotel almost on a weekly basis. I always enjoyed Indy and the Unicorn Club there was a weekly hangout for me for years. I also attended a few Colts football games there.

While watching the Republicans does everyone have such short memories that they forgot about the Obama/Hillary bitch fest 4 years ago. The 3am phone call commercial, the fight over Florida delegates that the DNC took away from Hillary. But yet they united for November as I expect the Republicans will as well. And all the debates and mud slinging really just get them more hardened and prepared for whoever fights Obama in November. Sort of like a very good hard practice before the big game. I think the process is actually helping prepare the Republicans for the Big fight.

Like comparing apples and oranges. In this country you are taxed at approximately 35% on a working salary. But you are only taxed at 15% if you make your money from investments, Capital Gains. This is the way our tax laws are written. So if you have a salary you pay 35%,minus deductions on that amount but then would only pay 15% on any interest income, stocks, Bonds, etc... Romney had NO salary income, all his money comes from investments. He followed the tax laws.

I voted for Kerry for President and he was rich and his wealth did not include his wife's money. If you remember they file taxes seperately and she refused to release her returns, she is heir to the Heinz ketchup fortune from her previous late husband. If you added Kerry's income to his wife's then their household income far exceeds Romney from what I understand. Yet Slate did not have a Kerry online calculator. Hypocrisy much I think. Most Americans want to be rich, that is why so many play the lottery every week. As for Romney's money, I say good for him. Having money doesn't mean anything to me when deciding who to vote for.

I cannot count the times I have driven that portion of I-75 on numerous road trips to Florida over the years. Just last May I traveled that road and there were numerous field fires and smoke on the highway then. Thankfully I traveled it during the day and without Fog mixed with the fire smoke. It is such a Florida gateway for tourist traveling from the North the victims are probably from numerous states.

I think the real firestorm is because she states she "chose" to be Gay. This is something that Gay people have been fighting forever it seems. Her comments just add ammo to all those that say being Gay is a life style and that it is a choice. Especially the religious arguements made by so many and other anti-gay advocates. She mentioned not labeling herself as Bi because many gay people's negatives related to the term but instead says she chooses to be Gay. I think that many Gays have negatives about Bisexuals because of that very reason. Being Bi means you can choose to be with the opposite sex and be content therefore blowing the "I was born Gay" arguement up in many Gay people's eyes.

There is a very good story on Tyler Clementi's Suicide from New Yorker magazine. It is very detailed and I think a balanced story of what appears to have happened to the gay Rutgers student and the webcam spying by his dorm mate. It is quite long but something I'd recommend you read: http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2012/02/06/120206fa_fact_parker?currentPage=all

Great story, thanks for sharing it. Glad you were able to help the guy out. I'm sure it will come back to you in some form one day. I think alot of guys seem to not do too well on F4F, saw one break down and cry once. He disappeared from the site shortly thereafter.

Since retiring my daily regiment usually involves reading several newspapers or news websites. Sometimes this takes a few hours of my day but as least I feel well informed. Here is my main list: First is The Courier Journal (Local paper) Then usually I go to: Chicago Tribune Atlanta Journal Constitution Miami Herald LA Times San Francisco Chronicle Montreal Gazette (Canada) CBC News (Canada) BBC News (Europe but lots of world news coverage) The Guardian (UK) Colombia Reports (Colombia) Bangkok Post (Thailand) Indianapolis Star New Orleans Times Picayune CNN Fox News... I know many dislike Fox but I find some interesting stories there you don't find elsewhere and links to stories around the country due to their local Fox stations news coverage. New York Post (For my daily gossip fix) Bloomberg Business News So what newspapers and/or news websites do you read daily online?

It is true that the Drug lords have been muted, they were over 5 years ago. But as the new mayor of Medellin states Security is the number one challenge: http://colombiareports.com/colombia-news/news/21313-securit-biggest-challenge-faced-by-medellinas-new-mayor.html Even without the drug lords gangs have taken over and violence is still a huge problem: http://colombiareports.com/opinion/the-colombiamerican/9189-what-is-happening-in-medellin.html Murders in Medellin did drop to 1528 for the 11 months Jan -Nov but people being forced out of their homes due to violence has increased: http://colombiareports.com/colombia-news/news/21105-medellin-murders-fall-displacement-rises.html I read the Colombia News almost daily and all is not well with crime there. My F4F friend, about a year or 2 ago had to move due to his apartment, in a secured building, being stripped while he was at a party (even stole his Hugo Boss underwear I had bought him) None of the multiple neighbors saw anything when multiple trips would have to of been made to rob him of almost everything. I love Colombia and I love the city of Medellin, but one must not have a false sense of security.

But you sure seem to pay attention to Tebow. Interesting isn't it?

I couldn't agree with you more.

The Advocate has chosen Salt Lake City as the gayest city in the USA based on multiple criteria they used. Guess all those Morman boy fantasies by so many might not be wasted after all. Here's link to story: http://news.advocate.com/post/15571734525/gayest-cities-in-america-2012

I have been watching many of the GOP debates because I am sincerely searching for an alternative to Pres Obama. With him, HOPE is now disappointment and frustration. I too find some, if not most of the questions asked to be so stupid and just trying to stir some headline shit from something that does not exist. The ECONOMY is the people's number one concern and the debate moderators seem to almost ignore that issue and fail to push the candidates on any real plans to correct the problem. Saying your going to help create jobs is one thing but they need to push them, in detail, as to how they can do that. The George S question was just so out there it was stupid.

Is that what you said for all of the 11 seconds in overtime?

I will admit to being a Tebow fan. What is wrong with a guy being religious? I think something is seriously wrong when we priase and make quarterbacks heros like Michael Vick (who goes to prison for running a dog fighting ring), Big Ben Rothenberger (who gets suspended for allegedly sexually assaulting a girl in a bar restroom), Brady is known to have a parade of models flowing thru his Hotel rooms every night, A Chicago Bears player gets arrested a few weeks ago for drug dealing with Mexican connections, this list could go on and on. Let's not forget Kobe Bryant and a few other NBA players getting fined for Gay slurs last year, Kobe's directed at a ref. But yet we demonize a guy that seems to be a good fellow just because he is religious. What happened to freedom of religion in this country? He isn't forcing religion on anyone he just thanks God for everything in his life. If he has a true belief in God he should thank him for the priviledge to play and be successful in the NFL. Instead people hate Tebow and hope he fails. I think something is seriously wrong in this country with the Hate Tebow gets for trying to be a good guy. As a NFL quarterback he will win some and lose some, either way I wish him well. Pro Sports needs a few good role models. If you believe in God maybe Sunday's game was his way of taking care of Big Ben for that alleged sexual assualt and if you don't maybe it was as one may say "Karma can be a Bitch".

I actually thought the game was not that good, LSU sucked for being hyped so much. Glad 'Bama won though.

Well I do not visit or contribute as much as I use to, mainly due to general daily life issues, but count me in and I'll try to do better. I'm at 783 posts. -
As I have mentioned in another thread some time ago, I had met a Colombian F4F guy about 5 years ago. We got to know each other fairly well online outside of the F4F site (MSN messenger). I visited him in Medellin several times over a 2-3 year span and even took him, and a friend of his,to Rio for a week. When I was forced to retire a few years ago,he stopped contacting me, I guess figuring the sugar daddy days were over. I hear from him maybe twice a year now. I'm not complaining, had a great time, memories, and fell in love with Colombia. There are some safety issues there but with having my Colombian guy and his friends with me it never was a real problem. I had a great few years and made several trips there. If it works out be sure to have your Colombian friend, if he is in Medellin, take you to Lleras Park to eat at one of the restaurants at night and to hang out people watching. But beware, my Colombian guy told me of 2 stories were guys had gone to meet a few F4F guys and these guys basicly had things taken from them by the F4F guys they visited and left the visitor high and dry in a strange country. I'd strongly suggest getting to know the guy online, outside of the F4F site for sometime, before planning a visit.
