Which century will that be?

Indeed, the UK does not issue identity cards. However, why do you say a driving licence is easy to forge? The same technology is used for your passport as for your driving licence. The licence has most of the same details. Indeed, once, being a seasoned traveller,(!), I forgot my passport, and when I came into the UK, they let me in. They said that this was irregular, but the officer I saw said that so far as he was concerned, the details were good enough. My driving licence has been accepted many times in the US, in lieu of a passport.

Which escort site? Some are more reliable than others.

Interesting. On reflection it was SSSS that was on my boarding pass.

Disgraceful behavior by Newark employees worsens danger

I don't blame them for being stressed. A really high profile job, and they must be wondering when some 21 year old kid will come in, says he's from DOGE, and fires them! -
That was still happening, at least until recently, at LHR. Several times I had the letters SSS on my boarding pass, and I had to go through another check at the gate. They said it was random.....

Yes, indeed, people like me! I used them in pre Internet days.

Interesting that this is still the case. In what are referred to as 'the old days', it was always cheaper to buy return tickets in the Far East, for travel to Europe. As I was a fairly frequent traveller, this worked for me. I used Chawla travel in Bangkok, whom I think are still going!

Yes, I've done that, for my guests!

Do you "correct" locals' pronunciations of their own cities?
Keithambrose replied to unicorn's topic in The Beer Bar
I know, I have a relative who lived there! Strangely, arguing against myself, as a result, I have always pronounced it as Woodge. -

I like the sanity equipment, reminds me of the Marx brothers film, "That's what they call the sanity clause, You can't fool me, there ain't no Santa Clause.... " -

Indeed, and some Polish names are no easy matter! Wroclaw. Rzeszow, etc. Also I've always found Brits who call Budapest, BudaPEST, somewhat pretentious, they don't say Roma, or Milano. -
Confused, by raw or boiled drinking?

Certainly not the lawyers!

You will also have noted, I imagine, the fact that the Polish population in the UK declined by a quarter after Brexit.

Well, good old Wikipedia. Perhaps you can help my sister in law find a Polish builder? The three Polish firms she has used over the past 15 years, who provided excellent sevice, have gone back to Poland. She has had to sack the English builders she employed. 2 other friends of mine, one of whom had previously used a Polish builder, have sacked their English builders, bad workmanship, bad timekeeping etc. Indian builders are currently getting a better reputation. I pointed out that this was a generalisation. Luckily, my Polish cleaning lady is staying here!
