Could I ask a favor for someone to repost the facebook pic, I don't have a facebook account

I'm in my mid-30s and into twinks so usually it's not easy to get the guys on Grindr where I am in Australia. The hot Australian bottom twinks are difficult to get because there is an overabundance of attractive tops in their 20s that I'm competing with. The top to bottom ratio makes it a bottoms-market where I am, the apps are filled with guys wasting time for attention, catfishing, or have the kind of personalities you want nothing to do with no matter how hot they are. This year has been pretty remarkable though, I have been with the two hottest guys I've ever been with in my home city. One of them I dated for a month before it all fell apart and the other was just a horny onlyfans twink I messaged on Grindr that wanted to be used for a night. I've had a few paid regulars over the years, but they are usually pretty disappointing compared to the guys I meet overseas. The international students doing freelance massage here have been the best options, but there are not many of them. There is a gay sauna or two but I've never been to a sauna, I would probably be more willing to try a sauna overseas than at home because I don't want to run into anyone I know.

I've not been yet, but most of the info I have read is that HCMC and the southern cities are the best for finding boys. We've got the same travel list for 2023, well unless things kick off in Taiwan before I can make it there. I've met a lot of guys in Aus from Taiwan and they say around Pride is the best time to go, lots of visitors from around Asia.

there's none in Pattaya, it's dead. you should definitely stay away.

I spent a bunch of nights at Sunee in April and August this year and I never once had an issue with motorbikes. There are some groups of Arab guys playing pool at their bars and some at the Arab restaurants behind Tukom. Who cares what they do with their holidays, they don't start fights or cause issues with us, so why should we care? If you're so worried about these "hundreds of crazy Muslims high on drugs" with motorbikes that you seem to believe exist, take a bolt taxi, or better yet stay in Bangkok where there are no issues with road safety 😅 Incidentally, the only time I've ever been close to being hit by a scooter in Pattaya was a white guy that sped around a blind corner. It's the same with discrimination, never had an issue with a Muslim or Hindu, can't say the same with my fellow westerners. I'd take a bet on what this is really about, but I'll just avoid the drama and ignore it.

Where do you all live & are you planning on living in Asia ?
vaughn replied to Olddaddy's topic in Gay Thailand
Australia, but I'm in my 30s so retirement is just a distant dream, I do plan to work in Asia when the timing is right and if I find a good fit for me. My working abroad plan was Hong Kong a few years ago, but that's not a good option anymore so possibly Singapore or Bangkok. I am in a very specialised field of work and I have the option to work anywhere in the world, but I haven't got the courage to pull the pin and risk my very comfortable life for whatever might be on the other side yet. -
my 2023 bucket list now just reads "Go to Taiwan"

Somewhat, Phuket has the Paradise complex in Patong with some guys. I posted a summary at the end of this thread of what I found in April Keep in mind April was when Thailand Pass was still a requirement and things were only just starting to open up, it might be busier now.

Fair point, from our perspective. I was thinking that some particularly enterprising boys from Pattaya might see that tourists in Samui pay a lot for their hotels and they might be able to make some quick money with less competition from big spenders by going back and forth. That might be my business brain thinking, and it depends on what the ferry ticket costs are going to be I guess.

With the addition of a new ferry cruise between Pattaya and Samui maybe the sex scene will pick up in Samui in the future? https://thepattayanews.com/2022/09/11/the-blue-dolphin-ferry-successfully-launches-its-first-route-of-pattaya-samui-on-saturday/

It's up to the guy, some will ask for 1500, 2000, 3000+ (plus off fee to the bar).. It's luck of the draw and what they are happy with. One thing to remember is that it can be good to avoid paying multiple days in advance or agreeing to multiple days in advance, just pay him LT daily. Ask if he will stay with you for the day tomorrow, then ask again the following afternoon. If you decide it's not working out on day 2, you will have fewer issues saying not tomorrow rather than trying to change the arrangement.

I used to speak to a cute guy that worked in a hotel at Samui, he occasionally posted photos from some bar with his gay friends. Unfortunately, I don't know the names of the bars they frequented so I'm not really much help, but gay guys do exist on the island working at hotels so you might be able to find a gay local and ask where he goes drinking.

The Agate walkway to Thappraya and the walkway opposite Thai Blind Massage that takes you into the bar soi really are helpful shortcuts. I use them a lot to avoid unwanted attention and grabby hands haha.

I generally think you shouldn't smoke indoors anywhere (cigarettes or weed) and I say this as a smoker. I think those 5* hotels are right to not want people smoking at their properties, especially where they don't have rooms with private balconies. Weed smoke can be pretty strong and it lingers a lot, even common areas that allow smoking and outdoor seating at bars aren't a good place for it. As Gaybuttom mentions, the fines can be pretty steep for smoking it in public if someone gets offended and calls the boys in brown. If I plan to partake, I would just book a hotel with a private balcony and do it there, avoid any issues.

It was in April when I stayed there

The area around VC and Beverly caters mostly to Indian and Arabic tourists. The area closer to Sunee moreso Arabic and the area closer to the western (pier) end of Walking St is more focused on Indian tourists. If you're looking for somewhere close to Sunee, I liked Mosaik serviced apartments behind Tukcom. I suspect the hotels in Boystown might be a better fit if you plan to spend more time there.

There would be a riot, wigs thrown and the whole place burnt to the ground 😂 Part of me wants to find a lucky guy on my next trip to give it to just so I can nonchalantly add it to my report and see the hysterics

As Boy69 mentioned most hotels in the area have no problem with guests, it comes down to your budget and requirements. I like Le Meridien and SO Sofitel (SO lifts can be annoying though). At Le Meridien you just walk straight to the lifts with your guest, the reception will just say hello. Prices are always a hot topic, generally short time visitors in Bangkok will want minimum 2000 baht. I don't do overnight much so I would just be guessing long time, but it's a discussion you should have with your guest for the night before you agree to take them back. Read some trip reports, they're your best source for info on where the type of guys you want will be, and how much some BMs have been asked or offer to pay.

If you have time on the weekend, Chatuchak Weekend Market is a good place to find all kinds of souvenirs. The toy stalls would be full of tacky crap, but you might find some good scores for yourself. The Amulet Market over by Thammasat University could have something, this might not be tacky enough and more buddha and cultural things. I don't know how tacky you need them, the shopping in the terminals at Swampy on your departure will have a bunch of random crap like tuk-tuk models, but it is overpriced. But If I was hunting for the tackiest possible souvenir I would look around markets close to the touristy temples, the floating market, or maybe some elephant pants from Khaosan Rd. In normal times I'd suggest just following the flag on a pole (if you know, you know) 😅

Sometimes you can find the same apartment or other apartments in the building with the same floorplan to see more photos on https://www.hipflat.com/ which is a property sale/rental site. Ashton Chula seems to have plenty of info available https://www.hipflat.com/projects/ashton-chula-silom-rqmwim

From my experience traveling a lot for work, if it's a single itinerary the second flight will wait up to 30 or 45 minutes after the scheduled departure unless the flight was already overbooked. This is especially the case if there are multiple passengers on that connection. You might have to do the walk of shame boarding last while everyone else has been waiting, but I wouldn't worry too much, gate staff will point you or get the little speedy golf carts out to get you where you need to be. If it's multiple independently booked flights, you're generally on your own and need to hope they're delayed as well or if they've already left then go see the transfer desk for the airline to work something out. Good luck!

Just a wild guess, but I think he may have been offended when you asked to go with him for free and he agreed then you declined by saying it was a joke. I doubt he is actually upset, but nuances in English can be easily misinterpreted so 'just joking' could come across as laughing at him or something out of context like that? I have had some conversations do complete 180s with some Thai boys because my Australianism expressions don't translate.

I am almost certain I saw that Avani have a joiners fee, I was looking at that hotel a couple of years ago and reading reviews. I would e-mail and ask before you book to be sure though.

Ok, now after the amazing night and long sleep I finally dragged myself from the comfort of the bed and down to meet my ride to Pattaya. As usual, I booked Nam's taxi the day before and my driver was waiting for me just before our scheduled time. 1200 baht and a 2-hour drive from my Bangkok hotel to East Suites. Pattaya I had already arranged my first rendezvous from Bangkok on Grindr, so when I arrived I had a quick shower and was deep in warm embrace within my first hour of being in Pattaya, off to a very good start! After a while of relaxing as night was falling, I decided to go for a walk around Jomtien Complex. Wow! it is very busy compared to April, I wouldn't say as busy as Songkran customer-wise, but definitely more guys/staff. It looks a lot less dreary with all of the lights on, and some new bars have popped up around the sois. I decided to step into a Bu Bu bar, I didn't remember being there next to Dick's Cafe in April, but they had menus out the front and some nice welcoming staff. So I'll stop in for food and a drink, it turned out the menus were from the small restaurants across the soi. I went for the Thai menu made by Sofia's Thai, oh boy it was delicious! This Chicken Cashew was hands down the best I've had. I went back another night and tried some more dishes, it was consistently great food. I found Bu Bu was a good place to sit and order from, giving a good view of the edge of Soda Massage and the comings and goings of the guys headed to work in the bars. As for the massage shops in the complex. There's the small shop (I can't recall the name) on the Thappraya side of Dick's Cafe, only 2-4 staff, but they looked more muscular and suspect better at actual massage. Soda Massage has a bright new sign above it, hard to count numbers but I think around 15+ staff, a mix of twinks and twunks. Then the massage around the corner toward Agate (again, can't remember the name), around 10-15 guys mixed twinks, twunks, hunks. Some very hot guys here as well. The Jomtien Complex bars between them had a LOOOOT of guys, I won't try to give estimates but I'd say something for everyone can be found there. Closing time is around 1-2am, then just as during April the party moves down to the beach where groups will sit around with drinks and food until the early hours. Well, I'm back in Pattaya and I know there's a little gogo bar over in Sunee screaming my name, so at around 9pm I head over to Winner. 60baht and 5 minutes by motosai I'm headed down the darkened Sunee plaza with the shining lights and usual squeals of the boys from Winner filling the air. My happy place. Now I won't sugar coat it too much, Winner has been struggling through covid. I often sat and talked with the owner at length in April and this trip about life and the bar, he's an absolute gem in my eyes, he cares for the staff and they care for him. However, there's a problem.. he is in a bit of a catch-22 situation, trying to keep enough staff to meet the customer demand without bleeding salary money in the quiet months after such a long time of having to keep the doors open with savings. Current guys in the bar is around 6-8, and they are all fantastic friendly cute guys (in white little speedos), but if it's a busy night and guys are being off'd it can be slim pickings. Get there early at 8-9 pm if you want to have the best shot at seeing all of them there. They don't tend to stand around on the podiums too long, they will mingle with the customers and run around the soi half naked to the food carts, so if you pop your head in and see an empty stage don't fret. I spent most nights at Winner this trip, drinking and joking around with the guys, they're just good fun. The drink prices are cheap and no one is ever pushy, so I was content. I did have 3-4 of the guys in my sights, but I only ended up with 2 and repeating the second for a couple of nights. I didn't make it to Boyztown at night, but when I did pass through on one early afternoon it looked a lot better. Ambiance is open again by the look of it, and all of the bars were setting up chairs out the front. Next trip I will dive back into BT and see what I can find in Toy Boys and the rest of this area. Time just wasn't on my side this trip. I had daily massages at Soda Massage and the occasional Grindr meetup, performance was good on all accounts, not a single dud this time in Pattaya. I'm reluctant to discuss this much, but I'll mention it. With the new laws regarding the decriminalization of the green flower, I decided to have a look at the offerings. I found the best shop was a dispensary one soi over from Sunee toward Tuckom called World Wide Weed (WWW), big selection and a friendly owner. I read some bad reviews about the shop(s) on walking street, maybe be cautious with them. If you do partake there are some rules to remember, they can't sell prerolled but they have papers and anything else you need. You cannot smoke in public or in bars, it is a 25k baht fine if you smoke it on the beach, but your hotel balcony is ok or the dispensary has a dedicated space to sample your purchase. 750baht/g for most of the selection, allegedly the quality is very good. I'm slowly trying every hotel in the Jomtien Complex, this time it was East Suites turn. The master room was very spacious, the price was really good, but no elevator, there was some noise pollution from the bars until 1 or 2 am, and I had to chase around a cockroach one night. Agate is still winning in my current standings, but Zing Resort is possibly next on my list to try. TT money exchange down Thappraya towards the beach still has the best exchange rates in the area, comparable to the airport basement. I think that's about all, I took Nam's taxi back to Swampy and check-in was fine but my flights were packed full again. A successful week that felt a lot longer., thanks for reading.
