Taxi in BKK is still very cheap in comparison to the west, never take taxi drivers whom waiting near the bars they will rip you off better to stop one at the road .

I stayed 4 years ago at the Glitz they just finished complete renovation of the property and my stay there was fine there is in room safe . sometimes the hot water at bathroom was gone and the noise from the street can be an issue .I understood since than they don't maintain the property well and their service rolled down so I don't think I will return, However the location is superb at the centre of everything you need. My next trip will stay probably at the Le Siam or at Furama.

I suppose accommodation in BT is over for me ,In past trips I always stayed at Copa, In my next trip I will move to Jomtien area.

Yes I did what you are describing but it not always works it's really depands on the boy behaviour and the chemistry between us .some boys were great others terrible.

Yes this are the main 2 problems with LT : the boys trying to gain the upper hand on you the purpose of that is to extract as more money as they can and the second one is taking you for granted and then they can be very selfish, arrogant and rude especially with the star boys whom have a big demand . Sometimes LT can be very fun and enjoyable others it's a nightmare it really depands on the boy character and the quality of chemistry between you two.

Long term can be a very difficult situation : the boy like to sleep till noon but you get up early, you like the beach but the boy is into indoor activities,You like to go to see movies but he prefers to watch on TV Thai channels only , You into Western food but he eats only Thai dishes and so on... It's not as easy as many thinks to be with the same boy all day every day.

It wasn't officially called a gay beach but you would find exclusively gay men there ,Thai boys seeking for clients or just enjoying themselves and male massuers .families and heteros didn't sit here .there was also a small gay beach at Patong Phuket as well and it was easy and fun to interact with the boys there and ended at your room with one of them after a nice sunny day in the beach...

If the boy perfectly fulfill your needs and desires It's absolutely normal to have him for LT with you. Yes it seems the boy is desperate to go out from the bar scene and find steady boyfriend so you have to be very careful with him not to hurt his feelings but at the other hand not to make any promises to avoid false expectations at boy side.

Usually you can't really communicate beyound the most trivial of topics not only because language barrier but also culture difference and lack of proper aducation of the boys.

Of course it's not legal but the bars have no choice because less Thai boys are willing to do this job .

Yes this is an option too it happened to me couple of times before only one time I sent money to the boy and it was a big mistake further endless requests came afterwards so I ceased responding to his correspondence at this point too. in OP case I think the best solution is as advised to pay the boy the total daily fees at the end of the trip and tell him politely that he's doing so to help his future but that's it no promises and no further payments if the boy requests latter on.
