What I particularly liked about Xone is its efficiency. On my first visit they entered all data from passport into system. My second visit was processed more quickly because they had retained it. Be sure to get queue ticket from dispenser before entering shop. Expect them to take your currency and put it into plastic envelope that then goes to back room. You’ll be asked to step aside while order is filled. When ready (usually only a few minutes) your number will be called again to pick up your cash. When I was there a few days ago all three windows open and six customers being served.

I believe there were about 10 in big cock (strike pole) show. I stayed for full show (10:15 sharp to 11:30). I understand from very good source (veteran member and Vietnam guy aficionado; need Isay more 🙂) that second show is shorter and that you will likely see fewer guys overall because many offs may have occurred by then. But keep in mind waiters also offable.

All war is cruel and this one is particularly so. Myanmar’s civil war appears to have no end in sight. An air strike killed at least 50 people at a concert in Kachin State yesterday, several news outlets reported. The concert had been held to celebrate the anniversary of the Kachin Independence Organisation (KIO). The number of casualties is believed to be the highest in a single air attack ever since Myanmar’s military took power in February 2021. The Kachin Artists Association claimed that 300-500 people were at the concert. Those killed included a singer, a keyboard player, and Kachin officers and soldiers.

from the Thaiger A major decision was made today by Thailand’s Cabinet which will allow foreigners to buy houses and land in Thailand. The foreigner will be eligible to buy houses and land if they invest at least 40 million baht in Thailand and can maintain the investment over three years, according to Bangkok Biz News. The land purchased cannot be bigger than 1 rai (1600sqm) under Section 63 of the Land Act. The new law will come into effect one month after its publication in the Royal Gazette, which will be “soon,” said the Cabinet. The initiative will be effective for five years. The proposal was put forward by the Ministry of Interior earlier this year to pull foreign investment into the kingdom. Wealthy foreigners can buy houses and land up to one rai if they invest in any of the following… Bonds issued by the Thai government, the Bank of Thailand, state enterprises, or the Ministry of Finance. Real estate mutual funds or infrastructure mutual funds, or mutual funds to rehabilitate debts of financial institutions under the Securities and Exchange Act. From The Nation The world’s mega-cruise ships returned to Phuket after two years as the 5,600-berth Spectrum of the Sea docked at Patong Beach Pier on Monday. The Singapore-based cruise ship – one of the world’s largest – was carrying 4,594 tourists from 59 countries, mainly Singapore, Malaysia, India, the Philippines and Indonesia. Governor Narong Woonciew said it was the first large cruise ship to dock in Phuket in two years after Covid-19 crippled the tourism island’s economy. He hailed its arrival as a strong sign that Phuket tourism is starting to pick up, explaining that cruise ship passengers usually have high spending power. “We expect to see more cruise ships visiting Phuket, with about one vessel per week in the coming months,” Narong said.

From Thai PBS World The Disease Control Department has identified Thailand’s 12th monkeypox case, in an Omani male tourist in Phuket, Dr.Tares Krassanairawiwong, the department’s director-general, disclosed today (Monday). He said that the 25-year-old arrived in Thailand from Oman on October 3rd and then travelled to Phuket the following day with three friends. Initial information shows that, while in Phuket, the man visited some entertainment venues and restaurants which serve Middle Eastern food, but did not have sex with anyone. On October 11th, he began to develop a fever, cough and headache, followed by blisters appearing on his body and genitals. He went to a hospital in the Pa Tong area for treatment on October 18th, where medical staff took samples from him to be sent to the medical science centre for analysis.

Bangkok Pat did do a video last year on Patpong. Although it’s steeped in history, it ignores any reference to the emergence of gay nightlife. Most of the content is based on interviews with those who run the Patpong Museum who also tend to overlook this bit of more recent history. You can find links to this and other videos here: https://www.youtube.com/c/BangkokPat/videos

Good luck with however you finally weigh all considerations, but I think you’ll have a difficult time in your search for naked boys. Btw, how many new screen names do you intend to post under?

Maybe best to take safest way and stay home where you can remain free of all risks and disappointments. Thailand a long way to go, especially when you have so many fears and concerns for physical and financial well being. Why subject yourself to this. Maybe consider other destinations with fewer threats.

Passengers in fatal 737 MAX crashes are ‘crime victims,’ US judge says
reader replied to reader's topic in The Beer Bar
Hopefully you’re right. Boeing was one of America’s most trusted and respected corporations. That those at the top ignored their best engineers who warned them of the dangers, and that regulators colluded with them, justifies the judge’s decision. it was clear from the start that what was needed is a new generation narrow body type, with a more robust airframe to support larger engines. Now the ruling has to survive challenges to higher courts that are sure to follow. -
From Pattaya Mail By Barry Kenyon From this month, the Thai embassy in Vientiane in neighboring Laos has announced the latest regulations regarding the issue of 60 days, single tourist visas which, in most cases, can be extended for a further 30 days at Thai immigration. However, the procedure is more complicated than visiting the Cambodian border which issues 45 days visa exempt to most nationalities with the option of extending a further month in Thailand. The Thai embassy in Laos has announced that applicants will need to show a Thai bank book with at least 25,000 baht (around US$650) available for spending in Thailand. Most nationalities can apply for the 60 days tourist visa, but those from 29 countries (including China and Bangladesh) may be subject to significant delays as further identity checks are made. Double or multiple entries to Thailand are awarded only to Laos citizens or to foreigners with long stay residence rights. Entry to Laos may be made by road or air, although immigration officers will likely want to see proof of prior booking of accommodation in or near Vientiane. Appointments at the embassy must be booked in advance, via its website, and walk-ins are no longer allowed. The process usually takes 24 hours involving one night’s stay in the capital. Several Thai tour companies offer visa runs to Laos either by minibus or by air, the former with an inclusive charge of around 15,000 baht and about double that amount by air. Most foreigners wanting a longer holiday in Thailand are opting at the Cambodian border for a new 45 days visa exempt stamp with the option to extend for a further month. However, some nationalities (notably Indians and Chinese) cannot use this route as they are not categorized visa exempt, but rather visa on arrival which is different. Visa on arrival applies to around 20 countries and offers 30 days (plus 15) on payment of a fee of 2,000 baht on arrival in Thailand, unless waived. All foreigners are restricted to two border visa runs in a 12 months period. Another issue with the Cambodian border is that only organized groups with a tour or visa company are permitted to do the run in a single day. Individuals without an escort arriving at Aranyaprathet or Pong Nam Ron immigration border checkpoints are being told that they must remain several days in Cambodia because their ID details were not sent for scrutiny in advance. The best advice right now is to organize a visa run via an agency which does regular runs and knows the ropes. Covid-free documentation is no longer required for entry to Cambodia, Laos or Thailand.

From CNN A US judge in Texas ruled on Friday that people killed in two Boeing (BA) 737 MAX crashes are legally considered “crime victims,” a designation that will determine what remedies should be imposed. In December, some crash victims’ relatives said the US Justice Department violated their legal rights when it struck a January 2021 deferred prosecution agreement with the planemaker over two crashes that killed 346 people. The families argued the government “lied and violated their rights through a secret process” and asked US District Judge Reed O’Connor to rescind Boeing’s immunity from criminal prosecution – which was part of the $2.5 billion agreement – and order the planemaker publicly arraigned on felony charges. O’Connor ruled on Friday that “in sum, but for Boeing’s criminal conspiracy to defraud the (Federal Aviation Administration), 346 people would not have lost their lives in the crashes.” Paul Cassell, a lawyer for the families, said the ruling “is a tremendous victory” and “sets the stage for a pivotal hearing, where we will present proposed remedies that will allow criminal prosecution to hold Boeing fully accountable.” Boeing did not immediately comment.

Min's tidbits about my Thailand and Vietnam experiences
reader replied to Min's topic in Gay Thailand
A few comments on Min’s excellent post: I estimate the number of guys on stage at one time or another at Freshboys Saturday night at about 18 (give or take a few). I understand a few had been offed prior to show. The ever-smiling Lao guy from HM can now be found working Red Dragon bar below Freshboys. Soi 6 continues to consolidate its reputation at massage central of all male shops. And now comes a rumor that 9-teen massage (that currently has shop on Silom near 6) will open another location on Soi 6 itself. This. Would bring to seven the total number of male only outlets in that space before dogleg turn toward Prime Massage. -
From the Thaiger Thai Airways International’s revised business reorganisation plan was approved by the Central Bankruptcy Court. The plan was submitted last month and the airline will now start on a course of financial restructuring. Does this mean everyone waiting for a refund from the Covid-19 pandemic and before Thailand’s flagship airline declared bankruptcy will finally get their money back? It is reported that part of the deal reached on Thursday with the bankruptcy court was to begin refunding customers who bought tickets before Thai Airways moved in May of this year to file bankruptcy. But don’t start your shopping spree yet, the refunds are expected to be finished by the end of January 2024. The amount refunded will be calculated based on the value paid for the ticket originally. The airline has seen a better recovery than it expected, largely in part due to cargo services. Since Covid restrictions eased and borders reopen, passenger and cargo traffic has steadily increased, supporting improved financial and operational performance. Thai Airways now has a cash flow of around 20 billion baht. In January the airline was carrying just 2,092 passengers per day. But today they’re averaging 17,554. The Ministry of Finance and other creditors for the airline have approved the restructuring plan that the bankruptcy court just gave the green light to. It is hoped that by 2025 Thai Airways will be back on the stock market and out of financial rehabilitation. They will hire a financial advisor to nail down a debt-to-equity conversion recapitalisation over the next two years of about 25 billion baht, about half of the previous goal. Great video. The narrator really does his home work. The cinema he mentions where gay cruising goes on is only a few minutes walk from the BTS stop (side of road opposite Big C). When you leave station, walk back in direction of downtown and you’ll come to a Soi that has a few male massage shops. Continue further and you come to huge cinema on left. If you continue to the end you arrive at 39 Underground Sauna, a long established local gathering spot where farang are few but nevertheless welcome. As for the cinema, it had to be about 2003 that I first discovered it. In the days before smart phones and social media, this place was showing mostly western porn to large audiences of guys of all ages, most of whom were there for a blow job or two. On weekends it attracted huge number of university students, military types and working guys, and of course those who held them in high regard. In fewer places was democracy more on display. Last time I checked it out was precovid and it was shadow of itself, showing reruns of former western and Asian adventure films. MBs we’re always available as we’re some LBs. the price of admission remains 60 bht. It is rumored to be owned by an influential individual who still finds a way to make a go of it. Overall, I highly agree with narrator that Saphan Kwai is a fascinating place worth exploring.

Attended 10:15 performance tonight and enjoyed the show. Perhaps the best segment is the opening act, a high-energy and very well choreographed group of guys who know how to dance. It was a pleasure to watch them. I hadn’t seen the show since February of 2020 and many of the boys I remembered have moved one, although one grabbed me on way out to show me a photo he took with me on an old off. There’s very good lip-sync ladyboy who is a veteran of Twilight days. She appears several times in different costumes and numbers and is a real entertainer. Rest of show features standard fare like the big cock, ring the pole which proved a big hit with the 10 or so female customers (when the performers circulated among the crowd for tips, many took the opportunity to exams the goods). Freshboys remains twink central but I thought there were more bigger guys in the cast this time. I believe ASEAN is well represented which, for me, improves the final product. The waiters are as easy on the eyes as ever and, of course, offable. The place was about half full when the show got under but many trickled in during the performance which ended at 11:30. Drinks 400 (boy drink same).

I find if I give equal weight to seeing that my partner has a good time, my chances of same go up, also.

The Ministry of Public Health Ministry is expected to cancel face mask-wearing regulations and related fines in two or three weeks, the Bangkok Post is reporting today. https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/general/2419873/face-mask-rules-to-be-cancelled-soon

I agree that there are many attractive Taiwanese but I’m wholly addicted to the diversity of young men you find in Thailand from all over SE Asia. To me, every day here is a pride celebration of sorts. You can find it anywhere an everywhere from barstool in Silom to massage shop or beer garden further out. I’m in the thrall of these guys. The possibilities can present themselves anywhere. I do love the adventure of it all.

From the Diplomat On October 16, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) opened its 20th National Party Congress to one, announce a major leadership shuffle and two, review China’s achievements over the last five years, thereby charting a course for the coming five years. Much of the international discussion has seemed to focus on President Xi Jinping’s tightening grip on authority, which marks a shift from China’s old-school leadership transition (post-Deng Xiaoping era) and could ultimately put Xi on par with Chairman Mao Zedong. While this development certainly deserves attention, the CCP’s work report is what truly matters in the eyes of observers in Thailand.
