From Bangkok Post The air quality in all provinces of Thailand was declared "safe" on Monday morning, with the capital, Bangkok, registering the lowest level of ultrafine dust, according to the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (Gistda). Gistda reported at 10am that levels of particulate matter 2.5 micrometres and less in diameter (PM2.5) ranged from 18.4 to 30.2 microgrammes per cubic metre of air nationwide over the past 24 hours. The government-set safe threshold is 37.5µg/m³. Thirty-two provinces had good air quality, with "green" levels of PM2.5 ranging from 18.4 to 25µg/m³. The lowest level was recorded in Bangkok, followed by the adjacent provinces of Nonthaburi (19.9), Samut Prakan (20.3), Pathum Thani (21.3) and Samut Sakhon (22.2). Other provinces with good air quality included Ayutthaya, Chon Buri, Nakhon Pathom, Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Phangnga, Phuket, Satun and Trang. https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/general/2957926/safe-air-nationwide-cleanest-in-bangkok

From Patttaya News This week, Thailand celebrates Makha Bucha Day, a Buddhist holiday observed on the full moon day of the third lunar month. This year, it falls on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. Makha Bucha commemorates the day when 1,250 of Buddha’s disciples spontaneously gathered to hear his teachings, which included the core principles of Buddhism: Cease from evil, do good, and cleanse the mind. On this day, people visit Buddhist temples to participate in rites, offer food to monks, meditate, and join in a candlelight procession. It’s also common for people to abstain from alcohol and other vices as a sign of respect and reflection. Due to Thai law, alcohol sales are BANNED on religious holidays and as a result bars will be shut and even sales at convenience stores prohibited from legally midnight to midnight on Wednesday, a full 24 hours.

Bag snatchers, gold thieves, crazy drivers. And now a lion. The family friendly town by the sea. =============== From Patttaya Mail In the Pratamnak area of Pattaya, residents were left shaken and unable to sleep after the continuous roaring of a 2-year-old male lion echoed throughout the night. The roar, which could be heard intermittently, came from a house located between Soi 5 and Soi 6, directly across from the Art Condo Hill. Concerned citizens living nearby contacted the Pattaya City Police Station after the disturbing sounds caused widespread fear among both local residents and tourists. Upon receiving the complaint, Pattaya police officers responded by visiting the scene. The residents confirmed that the noise was not from a loud party or speakers, but from the lion, which had been kept at the property. The lion’s roars reverberated throughout the area, unsettling everyone in the vicinity. The police tried reaching out to the homeowners or tenants of the house, but they were unable to make contact. This house, which had previously made headlines, was known for an incident where a foreign man had been seen driving a lion in a convertible sports car around Pattaya, a situation that attracted significant attention. The property had already been inspected by police and park authorities in the past. In response to the disturbance, the police have planned to report the issue to higher authorities and coordinate with relevant agencies to find a solution. Authorities aim to ensure the safety and well-being of both the residents and the animals, as well as to prevent further disruptions. The unusual situation has raised concerns about the legality of keeping such exotic animals in residential areas. https://www.pattayamail.com/news/pattaya-residents-alarmed-by-roaring-lion-disturbing-night-in-pratamnak-area-a-repeated-headlined-incident-489994

You can’t be near both. But Bally Suite Silom (from 896 bht) is steps from DJ station and Salsdeang BTS that takes you to Heaven in three stops.

I was with Jason at FB and can confirm his description that they have no problem in finding new blood that fit seamlessly into the mix of about 40 guys on stage. I was happy to find a twink I first met at the since closed SOL bar (now Atlas) in the rotation. What surprised me was when he stepped on stage for the big cock show. He may have been smallest guy in all aspects except one that counts 🙂. Also appeared in a dance routine. There are fair number of twunks in the mix that represent greater ASEAN. And unlike Jupiter, they’re the first to beam a smile your way. And if they sit with you, they are very interactive from the get go. I enjoyed more massage from a handful of guys than I get in some shops! The seven in the BC show circulate among the crowd naked for tips. Love watching them approach the female guests, most of whom are young women tourists in groups. For some I’m sure it’s their first handful. The show itself moves along quickly. There are only two lip-syncing performances but both well done. Remainder of show is guys in erotic routines.

The shop house is indeed being fitted out for movie to be filmed on Monday, according to reliable source (bartender).

The off couldn’t have been too disappointed as this was probably the fastest 1,000 baht he ever made. 🙂

May have something to do with the vacant shop that appeared under renovation directly opposite French Kiss restaurant which is directly below barbershop. There were people hanging around outside that location last night. Could be a set for film. That block was used before when the old Bangkok Massage shop was fitted out as a convenience store.

Just as unpleasant as the screen name we better know him by.

From Pattaya Mail By Barry Kenyon Following warnings from VFS Global about growing numbers of Thais and non-Thais being cheated by unscrupulous visa agents in major cities in Thailand, there are many pointers you are at risk. VFS Global is the world’s largest visa outsourcing and technology services provider formally representing the embassies of many countries. Their responsibilities can be checked at www.vfsglobal.com The following are the more frequent clues that you are being scammed by agents who will grab your cash and not deliver your visa: ▪ You are offered a “guarantee” that the visa will definitely be issued. ▪ There is reluctance to meet you in the company’s office address. ▪ Not to worry if you lack documentation such as verified bank statements. ▪ The fees are much higher than the information published by the embassy. ▪ No problem if you are late and need a visa urgently. ▪ You are asked to pay cash without a formal written contract. ▪ Your destination country allows you to work as a tourist. ▪ No need to provide details of your work history. ▪ You are given a first name and a phone number to deal with. ▪ No need for a refund policy as the success rate is 100 percent. https://www.pattayamail.com/latestnews/news/red-flags-you-are-being-conned-in-your-visa-application-489738

Made eighth visit to Phoenix yesterday. It’s only shop where I’ve been that many times and have yet to experience a miss. There were at least 10 guys on premises on arrival.

“They” offered….” There was only one seller. No believes they offered you the time of day.

You’re not only antisemitic, you’re bad at geography. Delaney’s isn’t next door to Good Boy. Pink Panther is on one side and entrance to Pavilion Place is on the other. This is the second time you’ve trotted out your penchant for calling someone a Jew.

Referring to the bargaining that tourists engage in with vendors on PP 1. As for the drinks at the boy bars, really don’t consider them overpriced when you consider your drink is admission to the show. They’re about the equivalent to movie theater admission at home. As for boy tip of 2500 baht ($74 at current exchange rate) for going with total stranger to have sex doesn’t sound outrageous. You’d spend that on a steak and few drinks.

A fairly recent discussion about key money ensued after it became known that Circus bar on Silom Soi 4 was on the market. The following excerpt describes how it’s understood in Korea. From CNBC Two factors that contribute to the high amount of debt among households in South Korea is a heavy usage of credit cards, and the unique system of housing in South Korea. Prospective homeowners can of course, buy their own homes outright, but for those who cannot, they need to rent. But unlike most rental systems around the world, South Korean renters pay a deposit known as “jeonse” or “key money,” instead of a monthly rent, according to Samuel Rhee, co-founder, chairman and group chief investment officer for wealth platform Endowus. The jeonse is a deposit about 50%-80% of the market value of the property. At the end of their lease, the deposit is returned to the renter. For the landlord, the jeonse is an interest-free loan, which they are free to invest. However, renters will usually take out a loan to fund the jeonse deposit, which Rhee said causes “a lot of burden and excess debt in the system for housing.” https://www.cnbc.com/2025/02/03/south-korea-has-a-big-household-debt-problem-the-countrys-unique-rental-system-may-be-to-blame.html

I understand that sale price was substantially below asking price. Transaction did, after all, take place in Patpong.

I only have phone number of one guy. All the rest are on LINE. As far as I know, @macaroni21 is correct; you need ID or QR code to add an individual. I believe you can join an “official” (commercial) account if it populates on your phone by just using chat feature. But I’m no expert on LINE either. Some official accounts can be located by using name in search feature if name happens to appear in ID. if you’re sketchy on how to add new friend, just hand your phone to him and his message will be popping on your screen in five seconds. 🙂 -
Dropped by Midnight bar (formerly Hot Male beer bar) about 11:30 tonight. Hotmale show bar and HM upstairs bar have been sold. The buyers were reportedly former manager of HM and two other locals. They purchased it from same individual who owns Moonlight. Bartenders and waiters now wearing more casual attire. Bar staff was asked whether they wanted to remain downstairs or go up stairs with new owners. It seems that just about all opted to remain below. Other than that, you won’t notice any difference.

From The Thaiger The family of a missing British man paid tribute after he was found dead in Thailand. Essex-born James Sangwine has died after going missing in Thailand for days. Thai police have yet to release details around the circumstances of the Londoner’s death. The father of one’s family has launched a fundraiser to help bring the 33 year old man’s body home. Sangwine travelled to Bangkok for a holiday on January 18 and soon after his family lost contact. Sangwine vanished during what was supposed to be a fun holiday in Bangkok. His partner, 38 year old Katie Maybin told EssexLive that he was travelling to Thailand to spend time with a friend living there but then all contact stopped after a night out on January 20. Sangwine was last seen making his way to the Abandoned Mansion Bar & Restaurant in Bangkok. A local couple who encountered the British man there messaged his partner Maybin, mentioning that he had been out with friends that evening. https://thethaiger.com/news/national/missing-british-man-found-dead-in-bangkok
