I'm inclined to think this is a recent reincarnation of one of the many massage shops on Sutthian Winitchair Rd. (Saphan Kwai area). I recognize a number of masseurs in the huge photo display as having worked--or now working--at K Man, KK and other shops in vicinity. These guys are all free agents who make themselves available on an "on-call" basis so better to call ahead.

Expats, tourists can get Covid boosters at two locations

Be assured I take the site seriously. If its members didn't, it wouldn't be the premier gay site about Thailand and beyond. I'm heartened that you've taken up the spirit of participation. And for someone who hasn't been in town for 18 years, you've wasted no time in finding another promising massage venue in Ladprao. In any case, welcome aboard.

If it's indeed the classic anti-nuclear war film starring Gregory Peck, I'd agree that it's not well suited for this entertainment setting. But they claim that the movies to be screened are about Pattaya ("....movies will be played each day in multiple languages, with films focusing on things in Pattaya.") so I'm hoping that Pattaya Movie on the Beach is just the name of the festival and not necessarily that of the film.

Jeremy, on April 19 you made your first opening post (Looking for advice on massage spas for - not for massage!). About a dozen different members chimed in with comments. You never acknowledged any and were never heard from again. Now you're back, looking for members to do more of your bidding. I think I understand more clearly why the administrator places the blue palm out warning next to your avatar.

Yes, by all means trust the man who couldn't even say AIDS during the years when it was devastating the gay community. Again, Gaybutton, I've never said that. You're the one who keeps repeating as if it's some sort of obsession. This may come as a revelation, but it's actually possible to have relationships that don't involve giving another person access to your valuables. But I know when you're not busy quoting Dutch you're actually a hopeless romantic at heart. đ

This article raises awareness on how unprepared even some expats are for unanticipated medical emergencies. From Pattaya Mail By Barry Kenyon A long time expat and active businessman in Phuket, who suffered serious leg injuries and concussion in a hit-and-run accident, has made an urgent appeal for cash to complete his cycle of operations at the government-sector Vachira Phuket Hospital. According to notes on the Bangkok-based fundraising platform Weeboon and a report in the Phuket News, he was hit on his motorbike by an unknown SUV driver on March 31. Initially, the requests for assistance were blood donors for his rare blood group, but the updates now speak only of the need to raise 260,000 baht or GBP 6,000. So far, around 5 percent has been donated. According to Linkedin Corporation, Richard is general manager of a cigar, whisky and wine lounge in the island resort, as well as being involved in miscellaneous business and charitable activities. On Weeboon, Richard speaks of the need to raise cash as his own resources and his limited insurance cover are both exhausted. He also anticipates he will need lots of rehabilitative treatment and physical therapy to try and resume a normal life. Potential contributors can check pay-in details on Richardâs Facebook page or the report in the Phuket News. Richard now becomes the ninth Brit to be in the cash-nexus tragedy in as many months following an accident following a motorbike accident. All of the previous cases (mostly promoted on GoFundMe) never raised the cash amounts requested, but were sometimes useful in part-contributing to airfares back to the UK. This case is unusual as Richard intends to remain in Thailand which may explain why a Thai-based crowdfunder has been preferred. An insurance claims assessor, based in Pattaya, told Pattaya Mail that he would advise Richard or his sponsors to provide more details and updates, for example the reasons why the insurance ran out and whether blood donations were still required. âIf there is a key to maximizing charity fundraising, itâs being frank and anticipating the sort of questions which will be going through peopleâs minds. Sad to say, Brits needing cash in Thailand for operations is not news anymore.â

If you follow the link Fedssocr posted earlier in this thread I think you find a nice balance between types of guys on stage at New Screw Boy. Based on my last trip six months ago, I didn't have a problem finding twinks in any of the Bangkok bars. And if I didn't see them on stage, they could almost always be found among the staff. Sometimes they may even find you first.

The function of a round bed seems to be to keep the partners in closer proximity throughout the night. That can't be a bad thing if you're springing for LT. đ

From The Nation The opposition Pheu Thai Party has a 22-point lead over its nearest rival in a recent nationwide survey of more than 160,000 eligible voters by Suan Dusit Poll. Pheu Thai had the support of 41.37% of the 162,454 respondents surveyed from April 10 to 20, according to the results of the poll released on Saturday. Fellow opposition party Move Forward followed with the support of 19.32% of respondents. All other political parties failed to attain double-digit support. The election will be held on May 14. The Bhumjaithai Party, a member of the governing coalition, was third, with the support of 9.55% of respondents. The United Thai Nation Party of Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha fared even worse, with only 8.48% of respondents selecting it as their preferred party. Support for the ruling Palang Pracharath Party was 7.49. The Democrat Party ranked sixth, with 7.30% of respondents expressing support for Thailand's oldest political party. Only 2.41% of respondents favoured the Thai Sang Thai Party, while the opposition Seri Ruam Thai )Thai Liberal Party) fared worse with 1.74% of respondents expressing support for the party. The Chart Thai Pattana was the only other party to surpass the 1% support level, with 1.25% of respondents selecting it as their preferred party.

Dear Gaybutton, I did not suggest that "a Thai boyfriend, or anyone else for that matter, should have access to your money, gold accessories, or any other valuable temptations." You said that. What I did say was that if we lead a life in fear of developing trusting relationships we risk leading a very lonely one. Not every facet of friendship involves money or gold. I truly hope that you have some trusting relationships--ones that don't involve "valuable temptations". If we believe that others desire our friendship only because they covet our possessions, we erect emotional barriers that get ever higher as we age. I acknowledge that some some foreigners have fallen victim to scams like the individual described in the OP. But I also believe that they represent a small minority of those who come to Thailand and manage to enjoy what it offers., including healthy and rewarding relationships.

From Pattaya News By Goongnang Suksawat Police inspected an entertainment venue in Pattaya in a crackdown on people involved in transnational crime and people who have overstayed their legal visa to stay in Thailand. On Friday night (April 28th) a team of officers from Chonburi Provincial Police, the Pattaya City Police, and immigration officers inspected Ying Club on Pattaya Third Road in Central Pattaya. More than 120 Thai and foreign tourists were in the nightclub. Police checked ID cards and passports. Urine drug tests were conducted on a total of nine Chinese (8 men, 1 woman), a Korean, 4 Indonesians (2 men, 2 women), 32 Thais, and 64 staff (41 men, 23 women). None of them tested positive for drugs and no illegal items were found. Police also checked many cars in the parking lot for possible weapons or drugs but found neither. This is the third nightclub raid this week in Pattaya with a similar gameplan of drug testing all patrons and staff and checking all passports. Previously, Pattaya police raided popular Asian club Hollywood in North Pattaya as seen here. They also raided the Panda Club, popular with Chinese tourists, on Walking Street as seen here.

The answer is in not trusting everyone but be open to trusting some. Otherwise, like Stavros, you may indeed succeed in leading a very long but very lonely life.

From The Thaiger For all the shopaholics out there, travelling between three different shopping malls in Thailand is about to get easier. In a joint effort by Central Pattana and Klook, a new bus route is being launched to operate between three major malls in Pattaya and Bangkok: Central World, Central Pattaya, and Central Village, with fares of only 190 baht. Yesterday, Nattakit Tangpoonsinthana, Vice President of the Marketing Division of Central Pattana Plc (CPN), unveiled the new bus route designed to accommodate the jump in the number of foreign tourists in Thailand. Tourists can easily purchase tickets online and reserve them for their travel day, provided they confirm their booking at least two hours before departure. Additionally, they can enjoy extra privileges at participating malls, such as a welcome package worth 3,000 baht if they become a member of The1 Tourist card. They can also receive a premium gift bag from Good Goods and two hours of free WiFi, The Pattaya News reported. The proposed bus route will connect Central World, Central Pattaya, and Central Village, with one round fare per person at 190 baht. For route and schedule information, which may be subject to change, tourists can visit the information desks at participating Central Malls.

I can still recall the vending machines at Don Mueang airport that collected 500 baht cash departure fee before proceeding to immigration (you got receipt to show officer). That was when DMK was known as BKK in the days before Swampy. I think this is that receipt.

From Pattaya Mail By Barry Kenyon The latest notice from the Thai tourism ministry lists the exceptions to the rule that all foreigners must pay on arrival 300 baht at airports and 150 baht by land or sea. The fortunate ones are diplomats, infants under 2 years, those with work permits, single day and transit passengers and that famous expression: foreign residents in Thailand. The latter phrase is optimistically being interpreted by some expats to include themselves as they see themselves as âresidentsâ by virtue of their annual, renewable extensions of stay based on retirement or marriage or because they are learning Thai. But the contextual meaning of âresidentâ here is âpermanent residentâ or that category of foreigner who holds a red police residency book and has no visa expiry date in his or her passport. Needless to say, it is a much sought-after status with a complex application procedure which can take years. The scheme has been delayed until September because of the publicized reluctance of airlines to include the tax in most airfares whilst skillfully excluding the 300 baht from the tickets of Thai nationals and the foreign exempt groups. It is not yet clear whether this dilemma will be resolved by taxing everybody and instituting a post-arrival refund policy, or by training travel agents what documentation to look for when deciding whether to include the tax. Of course, establishing a payment system on arrival at Thai airports would risk macro crowd control issues. Taxable foreigners arriving at land border crossings have their own issues such as needing change, paying in foreign currencies or offering online payments. How to avoid long queues of discontented travellers has not yet been resolved, according to the Tourist Authority of Thailand. The proposed solutions have included advance payment online, cash booths at immigration checkpoints and, latterly, the establishment of a private company to sort everything out. The Thailand Tourism Fee (TTF), according to the latest publicity circular, is to develop and keep up tourist destinations â presumably renovations and improvements â and âto provide medical insurance for touristsâ. Without clarification, this seems to suggest that tourists â whoever they are â are automatically covered for medical emergencies and do not need their own insurance cover. But previous announcements suggested that government cover would be restricted to discretionary help in mass accidents such as cremation costs and compensation to family members. A spokesman at the tourist ministry said further information on TTF might be delayed until after the general election in mid May. Canât come soon enough.
