With all your years of experience you're asking me how it works? You could write the book on it 😄

After seven sessions on Soi 6 on my last trip, I'd say you can get as good service on Soi 6 as you find anywhere in the Silom-Surawong rectangle. The key is to discuss what you're looking for in advance.

From The Nation After a mishap on Tuesday, Eastern Bangkok Monorail Ltd (EBM), which operates the Yellow Line monorail line, has adjusted their train timetable from departing every 5-10 minutes to every 30 minutes throughout the service hours (from 6am to midnight). In its announcement on Wednesday, EBM advised commuters to adjust their travel time accordingly. They also apologised for the inconvenience. The sudden adjustment came after an incident on Tuesday evening, in which a wheel fell off a Yellow Line train and hit a taxi on Thepharak Road in Samut Prakan province. Nobody was injured by the mishap. The train was running outbound at the time and had almost reached Si Thepha station when the accident occurred. The accident prompted Transport Minister Suriya Jungrungreangkit to schedule urgent talks on Wednesday with Bangkok Mass Transit System Plc (BTSC), which owns 75% of EBM’s parent, BSR JV Consortium. According to a source, BTSC was expected to give explanations regarding the cause of the accident, as well as highlight safety measures to prevent future accidents. The Yellow Line spans 30.4 kilometres and 23 stations from northern Bangkok to Samut Prakan in the southern suburbs. Commercial operations began in July last year. Photo credit: Pattaya News

Excerpted from Japan Times: Trisha Ferguson, an aviation expert involved in passenger safety education, told The New York Times that the evacuation was an example of cooperation between the plane’s crew and its passengers. "The crew was spectacular in their reaction times,” said Ferguson, CEO of the Interaction Group, which designs airline safety cards. "What they did was amazing.” She told the newspaper that safety policies in recent decades have focused on educating passengers about how to react in emergencies, rather than simply having well-trained staff. Some have called the successful escape a miracle, with Paul Hayes, director of U.K.-based aviation consultancy Ascend by Cirium, supporting Thomas’ claim that no-one was seen leaving the plane carrying hand luggage. "The cabin crew must have done an excellent job,” Hayes told Reuters. “It was a miracle that all the passengers got off." https://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2024/01/03/japan/haneda-miracle-rescue/

Did you ever meet a thesaurus you didn't just absolutely adore?

+1 You'll find upwards of 75 guys trying to get your attention on any given day. They're all quite approachable and represent a good cross section of ASEAN nations (9-Teen excepted because its staff is all Thai). The shops have en suite showers and massage tables for oil/cream massage. Take a few minutes to chat with the guys. If they don't speak English, one of their mates will. You can pick your masseur. If you choose not to you'll be assigned next one in rotation. A recommended location 👍.

So you're answer is to present yourself as dirty as possible. Good point. 😄

And I'm sure our sex partners would appreciate the fact that we paid extra attention to our personal hygiene.

No, I said "tops and bottoms". You said "top and bottom." I can see how you got confused. I agree, however, that "versatile" would be a perfectly acceptable alternative. While you're in town you may want to mention it to managers in the SK shops. Or maybe get them to consider what mamasans in the go-go bars prefer: "does everything." 🙂

There's only one way to find out: call ahead and try. Just like any other shop that handles free agency guys. Alternative: walk over to Silom Soi 6 and you'll find 75+ guys who are definitely on site.

The outcome is testament to the cabin crew in getting all 357 aboard the A350 out of the aircraft. It reflects much credit on the carrier, the training the crew received and the behavior of the passengers. Anything less could have resulted an unthinkable tragedy. This video includes some brief footage taken by a passenger from within the cabin after the collision.

And for those who looked closely, all but two of the pics in the Home photo post were tops and bottoms.

Home Spa is the last massage shop on the road before passing under the expressway and only a few minutes walk beyond KK Massage. It generally operates like the other independent (free agent) shops in Saphan Kwai but usually has a larger cadre of guys on hand in a "resting" room. For the mobility impaired, it has rooms and showers on the street level. With this shop I'd recommend reserving a guy of your choice rather than trying your luck on arrival. Here's a recent LINE posting.

From Pattaya Mail Pattaya and Koh Larn Island, two of the most popular tourist destinations in Thailand, welcomed the New Year with a grand celebration that attracted over 300,000 visitors and generated more than 2.5 billion baht in economic circulation. The event, dubbed “Pattaya Countdown 2024”, was a joint effort between the city of Pattaya and the Provincial Administration Organization of Chonburi, with support from the public and private sectors. The event, which ran from December 29 to 31, featured a variety of activities and attractions for both Thai and international tourists, such as concerts, fireworks, food stalls, and light shows. The event was held for the first time on Pattaya Beach, under the theme “The Fantastic Beach”, to showcase the beauty and charm of the seaside city. The event also included free trade spaces for local vendors, who were able to sell their products and services to the visitors, creating an additional income source and stimulating the local economy. The event was a resounding success, with accommodation bookings in Pattaya exceeding 90% of available rooms, according to the Tourism Authority of Thailand. The event also drew huge crowds to the beachfront, where a spectacular fireworks display lit up the sky on the final night. A photo taken from a hotel showed a kilometre-long stretch of people enjoying the music, the views, and the food on the beach road.

From The Nation Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin has issued a warning to Transport Company’s chief – improve the condition of the Mor Chit 2 interprovincial bus terminal or face the axe. Government spokesman Chai Wacharonke said on Tuesday that the premier has also instructed the Transport Ministry to oversee the improvements to the bus terminal before the Songkran holidays. Mor Chit 2 is the largest bus terminal in the capital and serves provinces in the North and Northeast. Srettha’s order comes in response to public complaints and criticism last week from a Move Forward MP. The spokesman said the ministry was told to ensure there are no more public complaints about the bus terminal, adding that the PM expects it to start receiving compliments instead

From The Phnom Penh Post The recent New Year’s Eve celebrations saw record numbers of visitors to some of the Kingdom’s most popular tourist destinations, except Siem Reap province, which experienced a 10 per cent decline on the 2022-23 event. Kampot province greeted the most guests, with the provincial tourism department reporting that nearly 390,000 arrivals opted to welcome the New Year there. In second place was Preah Sihanouk province, with 349,000 tourists recorded. It was followed by Siem Reap, with 304,064 guests enjoying the countdown in the province, home to the Kingdom’s renowned Angkor Archaeological Park. The Battambang Department of Tourism reported around 263,000 guests, with Kampong Cham logging about 120,000 and Kep’s seaside location drawing slightly over 100,000 visitors. Each of the departments confirmed that the figures included both domestic and international tourists. Kampot Provincial Tourism Department director Soy Sinol said on January 1 that the province had recorded 386,488 tourists, including about 1,500 international guests. Visiting residents of the province were not included in the figure, he noted. “The reason we welcomed so many guests may be due to our proximity to Phnom Penh, as well as the fact that we have so many recreational facilities here. The provincial authorities did an outstanding job of preparing the necessary infrastructure this year. Many, many domestic and international tourists gathered along the riverside in Kampot town for the celebrations,” he added.

He was speaking after the Cabinet acknowledged China’s gesture and agreed to reciprocate in kind. “China's move has helped boost relations and offers opportunities for tourists of both countries," Srettha said. He added that the Public Relations Department and related agencies have been tasked with publicising that Thailand is ready to welcome Chinese tourists.

Yes there are. Using the Tha Phae Gate stop (about middle of Route 24) as a search point, here's the map of hotels Booking.com returned: RTC #24 is not the only bus route from the airport, the B2 being among them.
