  1. Good to hear. Must have had a very bad night when I was there.
  2. Cupidol appeared to have given up completely tonight. OK, it was raining heavily but it started after opening time so boys should have made it to work. One boy on stage, joined later by 2 others. Mamasan & friends drinking whisky in the corner. No attention given to the 4 or 5 customers. This is usually a sign of terminal decline. I won't be back this trip.
  3. Yes, I was disappointed last night. I didn't get a single 'twitch' looking at the boys, even though they were all in skimpy white undies.
  4. First visit to Cupidol this trip tonight. Thought there were far fewer twink types than Christmas and more moustachioed, slightly older types. Nothing really to float my boat. I'll give Boyztown more of a look tomorrow.
  5. Until the past week or so when several people have been asked at airports.
  6. Demanding in cash nowadays! If they enforced the rule widely it would be chaos as many people use one type of card or another now. Just imagine the scenes at the airport as thousands of Chinese tourists are refused entry :-) Looks like it's just another way they're trying to make things uncomfortable for those living/working here without the proper visa though. Asking those with multiple Tourist visas and visa exempt entries to show cash. The rule has been in place for a number of years but rarely enforced.
  7. Realised I should have posted my previous comments here and not in Sunee thread. I paid a brief return visit to Sunee last night. A few of the beer bars had several customers, though others were empty. I only went in Winner Bar. I arrived about 11 and I was the only customer - the boys scurried in from outside when I entered. 3 more customers arrived while I was there. I know everyone's tastes varies, but the standard of boys seemed at least as good as bars in Boyztown. Mainly twink, twink+ types not rugged & muscular (which I don't like in any case). None of the lads really grabbed my attention though. (Vessey - no sign of Nam on either visit) I assumed the beer was cheap on my first visit as I was early but still cheap at 11. Must be a low season permanent 'happy hour'. Took my life in my hands walking along Soi VC to songthaew as many Arabs racing bikes up and down the Soi. Decamped to Jomtien Complex - which I do prefer.
  8. That's a shame. Isn't Jomtien Complex zoned as an 'Entertainment Area'? There is one girl go-go on Thappraya not far from the Complex and a second one did open, briefly, in Rhompo so it must be possible? Just stay in Jomtien:-)
  9. Can't help thinking after visiting Sunee last night that the small number of decent bars there would be much better off relocating to Jomtien Complex. The Arabs have completely taken over Sois 17 & 18, fewer customers are making the trek to Sunee and a number of bars there have closed. Even now in low season, Jomtien Complex is noticeably busier than Sunee and there's room there for a couple of gogos etc to move in. I wouldn't need to travel from Jomtien then either :-)
  10. Tried Sandbar for the first time this morning. Very disappointing. The 'English' breakfast was missing 2 or 3 things listed on the menu and I found the coffee undrinkable - though that's quite common in Thailand. PeterRS - they do have help yourself toast & croissants as part of the breakfast & a toaster oven to warm the croissants. I didn't try them so can't comment on their crumbliness. (The croissants in Starbucks aren't bad at all nor the ones in the supermarket downstairs in TukCom) The Continental Bakery has a good range of breakfasts. I like their fruit, yoghurt & muesli breakfast which comes with good bread - always pay extra for the wholemeal. Again, the coffee is undrinkable. The only place so far in Jomtien I've had a half decent coffee is the Pig & Whistle. OK breakfasts but not spectacular.
  11. Ended my visit at Eros. I wouldn't say any of the boys were my type but genuinely friendly lads. One even went to 7-11 for me to buy an umbrella as the heavens opened as I was leaving. A couple of other customers.
  12. I'm there now. Not sure why. Dead. Started at Winner. Ok but no more. 2 gogos at end on Soi 17 pretty dire. Having quiet drink in empty beer bar to contemplate next move. Maybe Eros?
  13. Plan on my first ever visit to Sunee tonight - if rain stops. Hope I can find the decent bars there.
  14. The Complex is very compact. It can be quite territorial as well. I'm hopeless at remembering names. I found the first bar on the right after turning the corner good but one night I happened to sit in the next one and the 'mamasan' was very bitchy about the non-Thais in the bar next door.
