  1. and even in the "straight" ones you can often guess which performer the cameraman was really interested in 🤩.
  2. I've always thought of it more as a "you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave" kind of place. And still those voices are calling from far away Wake me up in the middle of the night Just to hear them say Welcome to the bars of Boyztown Pattaya Such a lovely place (Such a lovely place) Such a lovely face Plenty of room in the bars of Boyztown Pattaya Any time of year (Any time of year) You can find it here ... Last thing I remember I was running for the door I had to find the passage back to the place I was before "Relax," said the night man "We are programmed to receive You can check-out any time you like But you can never leave!"
  3. I wonder how many people could name the musical it's from, or who wrote it? (If it comes to that, I wonder how many people even know it's from a musical )
  4. Or you could just learn four words: "left" (ซ้าย "sai") "right" (ขวา "khwa") "straight ahead" (ตรงไป "trong pai")
  5. I hope you mean B1,500 🙂
  6. What is this "gun" of which you speak? Hint: not everybody in this forum is from the USA. (If someone started screaming at my door I wouldn't open it at all.)

  8. Not to mention that there must be some "persons of influence" who have a stake in those businesses.
  9. To answer the implied question in the title, one word will do: Irrelevant.
  10. So it is, but the post immediately above yours, to which I thought you were replying, was about "Asia's countries ranked".
  11. In someone else's? A Buddhist would probably say "which one?"

  15. It was there when I visited in 2009. But I believe this well-polished statue has been moved from its castle location:
  16. You might be surprised. "The Horse in Motion" dates from 1878. OK, it's only 11 frames long and needed 11 cameras to shoot it. The first film shot on a single camera was made in 1888 and lasted 2.11 seconds.
  17. Unnecessary exertion when there's a 7-11 on every corner...
  18. That one seems to be called just "Harbor Pattaya" or "HarborLand". Its own signage says "Harbor" in English and "TukCom" in Thai (same logo as the TukCom we all know on Pattaya Tai) and it appears to be about family fun as much as shopping.
  19. It appears to be in Laem Chabang, something like a 15 mile taxi ride to Pattaya Tai. Wikipedia: Laem Chabang is a port city municipality [...] in Chonburi Province, Thailand [...] As of 2019 it had a population of 88,271. The city has grown up around the port, but also serves as a major stop on the coastal highway linking Pattaya and Bangkok via Sukhumvit Road (Hwy 3). The city is also known for hosting a Japanese retirement community with specialty stores geared towards them. TripAdvisor's "Top Things to Do in Laem Chabang" all seem to be excursions to other places. 😄
  20. Uzbekistan and Liechtenstein are the world's only doubly landlocked countries. That's why I mentioned them 🙂. Of the other former Soviet states, Russia has a huge northern coastline, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania are on the Baltic, Georgia and Ukraine are on the Black Sea. As for the singly landlocked states, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan border Iran, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan border China, Belarus borders Lithuania, Moldova borders Romania (and there are other borders with coastal states too.) E&OE.
  21. More likely Uzbekistan or Liechtenstein 😁.
  22. FWIW The Oxford English Dictionary says: NOUN a.
