Do you look up climate data before planning a vacation?
thaiophilus replied to unicorn's topic in The Beer Bar
What the "average precipitiation" in that chart doesn't tell you is how the rain is distributed throughout the day. You can plan around a predictable hour's thunderstorm at the same time every day in a way you can't when there's no pattern to the precipitation. -
USD are not in general circulation in Thailand the way they are used in parallel with riels in Cambodia. They can't be spent directly (e.g. in a 7-11), so by tipping USD you're giving the boy the hassle (albeit small) of exchanging them, which diminishes the value of the gesture. IMHO it would better to change them yourself and tip with real money.

Works OK for me. (Firefox, Windows 10)

According to the Wayback Machine it was around between about 2008-2016. Nicky's books are still available: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Cocktail-Boyz-1-White/dp/1533652244

and later, Nicky's Gay {Bangkok|Pattaya} which lasted until he published three novels set in Sunee, shut down the site and retired quite abruptly.

Not boring at all. No relevance to Thai, but I saw something similar a couple of days ago: a farang with a Viking-themed tattoo all over his arm. It included some runes which spelled futhark ... which is the runic equivalent of ABCDEF.

Wife for hire’: Inside Thailand’s rental marriage trend

And make sure you set up your financial arrangements so SB knows you're worth more alive than dead -
That's what I understood. There's much less dairy in the average Asian diet because so many adult Asians are lactose-intolerant. My dairy intake is relatively low by Western standards, which maybe explains why many years ago I was virtually kidnapped by one of the locals in House of Male (Chiang Mai) because he "liked my smell". A long story, which I have no intention of telling here...

Should have leased them...

Not recommended. Drinking is not permitted in the park, according to the BiB who pounced on me on one occasion for possession of a beer can. Fortunately it was empty, I was just looking for a bin to dispose of it.

Trip Report (Nov/Dec 2024) - Trying out new experiences

but first check the smoke detector and sprinkler system, as discussed in another thread 😲. -
What's its current name? There used to be disused sign boards inside the bar reading "N. Boys" and "Night Boys". "Was" in the top three together with Eros and Good Boys. Now "is" the most, as it's the only one left 😢.

Nothing in that list is remotely specific to Thailand. These, on the other hand: The palace/temple is closed today but the government is running a special promotion, today only, for just 10 baht this special tuktuk will take you to the Temple of the Lucky Buddha... You can buy these gemstones for a bargain price and sell them for a profit back home. We'll handle packaging and shipping... You want to pay by credit card? No problem. You use it to buy gold at the shop next door, then pay for your gems with the gold.

Two Foreigners and Rescue Worker Injured in Talay 5 blaze
thaiophilus replied to reader's topic in Gay Pattaya
No, they are probably independent systems. The smoke detector sounds an alarm and maybe calls the fire brigade. The sprinkler heads contain capsules which burst when heated and open a valve to release water. (To protect against accidental flooding, some systems are pressurised with air and only turn on the water when two different sprinklers are triggered.) E&OE; I am not an expert; seek professional advice; etc etc. -
and even if there's no view it holds the record for papal density with 5.2 popes per square mile (2.0 popes per square km).

No. It has to be Uzbekistan or Liechtenstein because they are the world's only doubly-landlocked countries 🌴🏖️🌴

Two Foreigners and Rescue Worker Injured in Talay 5 blaze

If you're lucky the smoke detectors may have a "test" button. If you're even luckier the sprinklers may be connected to a water supply. -

If their spelling is as good as that "AI"-generated image, I think I'd look elsewhere for help with my documentation 😕

Haven't been in the right place at the right time since 2020, so I don't know. Regarding your last sentence, that's an interesting point, but the tune they play daily in Lumpini Park and elsewhere is the national anthem, which is highly nationalistic but doesn't refer to royalty at all. (Not surprising, as it was adopted in 1932 when the absolute monarchy was abolished.) To hear the royal anthem you need to go to the cinema.
