  1. My understanding is that its mostly cargo, perishables that normally travel by air are still going that way, keeps the airframes in the air and the pilots certified
  2. The word I was looking for is tolerance, not immunity, and according to my gastroenterologist you can build up a tolerance to Propofol when used over a number of consecutive days. Maybe I am still under and this whole Covid-19 thing is just a figment of my imagination!
  3. The problem with Propofol is that your body gets used to it and builds up an immunity 2.5 years ago I had to get 5 ERCPs (a procedure that combines GI endoscopy and x-rays) in a short period of time to remove an errant gallstone that was blocking my bile duct. I woke up half way through the second last procedure and it was a very unpleasant experience!
  4. My understanding is that the European ruling is a reciprocal agreement. So it will only be valid for Thailand when they lift their ban on Europeans entering Thailand
  5. Looks like G-star Pattaya is getting ready tomorrow at 7pm They have put in all new plastic cubicles to comply with the social distancing rules There are also some reassuring PR type videos (in Thai) on their FB page: https://www.facebook.com/gstarpattayaclub/
  6. A friend of mine was an living as an ex-pat in Cambodia, around 2 years ago when he fell quite ill with breathing difficulties, the local doctors sent him overland to Khorat (in Thailand) as the local hospitals there were just not up to scratch One thing for sure is that I don't think I would like to be in Cambodia during a Covid-19 outbreak!
  7. It's still happening daily, if you look at Sun's FB page (Sun Sun bar) you can see the daily pics and also accounts of donations todays meal was "chicken spicy curry with pickled bamboo shoots" I note that Home Bar are also doing similar, as are QM2 and 4T bar
  8. City Boys (later Gacuya) It is now a front for an underground casino. I know quite a few boys that go there after work and chase the money that they lost the night before!
  9. Of course, my BF shows up in Suvarnabhumi with only the clothes on his back, his phone and his tablet. 3 weeks later he is hauling 30kgs of new stuff with him and blaming me for making him walk from The Raya to The Glitz!
  10. Oh and a few words on the Red Planet Surawong As others have written the rooms are very small. They may be ok for to sleep in with an occasional overnight guest or ST visitor, but as someone that was travelling with my BF, the room was totally unsuitable for 3 nights. We were at the end of a 3 week trip and there was no room for 2 suitcases etc On the plus side: Clean and bright rooms, excellent AC, absolute dark blackout blinds, Fast lifts, Friendly staff, 7-11 onsite, 6-7 min walk from Wat Hualumpong and the new Mall at Samyan Mitrtown I even managed to get my BF to walk from there to Patpong (a miracle!)
  11. A word of praise for hotels.com The Raya was booked out on my last 3 nights in Mid Jan, so we moved down the road to the Glitz hotel. We dropped off our bags and headed to Paragon for a few hours. When we got back to the room our bed was swarming with ants, as was the bathroom (note we had no food with us, so it wasn't due to that) BF went to reception and asked to change rooms, they moved us to a (smaller) room 2 flights up. As soon as we entered that room i picked up a pillow from the bed and there were 3 ants under it. The girl saw them and simply shrugged, we were told there were no more rooms and that they would not cancel our reservation as it was non refundable. I booked us into the Red planet and we checked our of Glitz and made our way down the road Later that night i went on an online chat with a hotels.com representative. They rang the hotel and asked to speak to the manager. The manager had gone home so they told me that they would call the manager on my behalf the next day. Next morning when i woke up I had an e-mail from Hotels.com to say that they had spoken with the manager of the Glitz and refunded all 3 nights to my CC and also attached a voucher for €39 towards my next stay with them. I thought that this was excellent service and they definitely have my loyalty now. I guess the fact that I booked a parallel booking in Red Planet on the same dates helped my refund case. One thing for sure is that I will never ever go back to the Glitz
  12. Don't forget the beer cooler sleeves, never cleaned from year to year and surely some of the most disgusting germ infested objects in the world... even the towels in the old Eros toilet would be cleaner than them!
  13. I'm guessing Mandalay was your first stop and Bagan the second> Question for you: Did Bangkok Guy show any reluctance to visit Myanmar? My Thai BF is very reluctant to visit Myanmar as he feels he will not be welcome there (ancient enemy and all that) so it is always instantly crossed off the list. Funnily enough he has no issues in Cambodia these days, but he felt very uncomfortable on our first visit there in 2004, so much so we left a day earlier than planned
  14. Seems that is a bar for Ladies to pick up boys and its on Soi Buakow: https://www.facebook.com/blacksnakeclubpattaya/ https://www.instagram.com/blacksnakeclubpattaya1/ I spotted Jack in one of the pics, s/he was the mamasan in Dude club many moons ago

    Intraspa?

I also follow this place on Twitter, have seen boys from Sun bar (Jomtien), Toyboys (Pattaya) and Screw Boys (bkk) in various clips that they show. They do seem to have a pretty impressive stable!
  16. From my experience these 3 are definitely in the top 5, the likes NAB and Sinlapin Issan are full most nights with Bar boys spending their hard earned cash As others have posted money to parents probably also makes the top 5 The one thing that's missing from all posts so far is, that they spend it on other MoneyBoys or Bargirls They get their 1500-2000 ST tip and then blow 500-1500 on a Karaoke boy or Bar girl. This after market is how so many karaoke and after hours host bars can survive
  17. As Spoon points out above - watch out when changing 100USD notes e.g. if you are paying for $12 meal with $100 note they will often issue you with: 2x $20s, 2x $10s, 2 x 20000 Riels, 7 x 10000 riels, 1 x 5000 riels 15 x 1000 riels etc Of course its very difficult to tot up on the fly whether you are being short changed or not and work out tips etc. In addition, one of the larger USD notes stuck amongst your wad may be damaged or old and not accepted in any shop when you try and spend it later The other thing is to make sure you have small money for the tuktuks, they always claim to have no change, so your $2-3 ride ends up costing $5. The tuktuks will also take riel as long as they are 1000, 5000 or 10000 riel notes. PassApp is the local equivalent of Grab/MyTaxi/Uber, so be sure to download that on arrival to get "fair" fare on Taxis and Tuktuks
  18. Problem with the Silicon operation is that is usually looks pretty decent first time around. Think of it being like a sausage turning into a sausage roll The boys see their friends with one and then they copy it Of course 12 months later gravity has been pulling the silicon down into their "bell end" and they end up looking like a gigantic Chupa Chups lolly! https://images.vat19.com/giant-chupa-chup/giant-chupa-chups-lollipop-eating.jpg
  19. Taksins pockets also ran pretty deep, those "damn peasants" were pretty happy to pick up 3-500 baht every time they voted for Thai Rak Thai and its analogs... they hand the villager a camera phone on the way into the polling station and when they came out with a pic of the polling card marked in the right places they received their bounty!
  20. good news for their admirers is that most boys pics above are still available and on the scene Bad news is that they have all put up 10KG since the original pics!
  21. It certainly is not. Have you seen the prices in those Asian import supermarkets that we have in Europe? When BF is in Ireland he easily spends €20+ per day on produce that he then has to bring home, prepare, cook and clean up after (3 times a day!) Similarly he can spent €10-15 on fast food/pub grub and then want to cook again when he gets home as that food was "just a snack" You washing machine will be running at least 3 times as much as normal, as will your dishwasher and oven. Giving you a much higher electrical and water bill. Then there is the cost of a night out. Drinks, shots, night club entry, fast food after club, taxi home. We easily spend €200 a night (and remember he will want at least 2 nights out a week, with you or his newly found Thai friends). Plus a night or 2 in cinema, another €50 per trip Finally return flights from Europe to Thailand are much cheaper than Thailand to Europe. Travel insurance is much cheaper for a European and there is no need for expensive trips to the embassy to get visas processed BF used to come here for a month every Aug/Sept, till we realized that it was cheaper for me to go there for 2 weeks and party every night!
  22. Great report so far Jason, looking forward to the rest Some questions about the 4000B bottle of JD... any responses can wait until after you return! Were unlimited mixers & ice included or was it a set amount e.g. 8 cokes? Were the boys allowed to drink for free or were you charged for drinks? (Some bars allow staff (waiters, mamasans etc) to drink for free but insist that you must buy at least 1 boy drink for every gogo boy that comes to your table. If they have a subsequent drink then that can be from the bottle without additional charge) Also did you spot the price of Johnnie Walker Red Label? Thanks in Advance!
  23. Monks also shave their eyebrows so doubt he was ordained When I see a Pattaya gogo boy with a recently shaven head and intact eyebrows, I usually assume that they have just spent a few days in a remand prison for a minor offence and not the monks In Babes case however I think he's too clean cut to have been caught up in some petty crime (and he's about as far removed as possible from a Sunee Gogo boy!)
  24. I know of "Big Eye" in North Pattaya that has such shows.... Perhaps it has been renamed? Tickets wee in the 1500B bracket last time I asked.... and it mostly fills with Chinese tour groups
  25. My friend you(aka your friend) CentraN shopping mall NAP club (instead of NAB) I have no idea what the manager of Dave club was thinking when he renamed it to Dave Club Erra-root-shun (Evolution) Friend of mine had an Austrian BF Heinz. In the end he used to just call him Hi or Heineken as he just couldn't get his tongue around that inz On the Blue'd app I frequently get asked to send a pic of my chicken (cock!) My favourite error in translation was when my BF told me he had leprosy... turns out he had a rash!
