  1. Isn't the purpose of the Gay Romeo, Grinder and Other Hookup Sites - Gay Guides Forum exactly for doing what is suggested in this thread?
  2. Pre Covid: Our Songkran used to start in Silom on the night of April 12th, at the time Twilight was still going strong and the party poopers on Soi 4 had not brought in their water ban. As soon as it hit around 23.00 the water would start to flow and Songkran would unofficially kick off. We would then spend the day of the 13th in Silom and move to Khao San road on the 14th, before heading to Pattaya that evening. Pattaya on the 15th was usually Soi 6/7/8 in the day time before heading to Country Road or Bamboo Bar in Jomtien, just in time to "terrorise" the Baht bus customers heading home from the beach. (Remember Songkran haters: one mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter!) 16 and 17 were usually quiet enough in Pattaya, except Soi 6/7/8, Soi Buakow and some play in Jomtien near Country Road/Bamboo Bar. Naklua was the place to be on the 18th and it used to be mobbed with gay boys out having fun and grabbing cocks at the same time they plaster powder on your face! A bag of beers is usually a handy thing to have with you for sharing with new friends. There was usually also an outdoor Morlam that night which again would turn to water chaos, especially as it is so hot, there is no option but to cool down! A lot of the gay boys stay up all that night, usually ending up on walking street which unofficially turns 24 hours for 1 night only. On the 19th it is of course all out madness all over the town with bumper to bumper traffic for miles, again we usually hit Soi 6/7/8 and Central before heading to Jomtien Complex for the festivities there... When i first started coming to Pattaya in 2001 it was guaranteed to rain at 19.00 on the 19th and all water play would stop, I remember wading home the roads were so flooded with rains, however the last few years pre-covid I noticed that water & powder play would continue on until the early hours of the 20th, especially in the late night venues Post Covid: Last year was a disaster with Covid and the water play ban, The "powder parties" in JC were fun last year, but not very good for your lungs! Who knows whether the authorities will once again make another water ban... But if they don't we will be repeating our traditions as much as we can!
  3. And to clarify. There are plenty of khmer boys who show up in Pattaya or BKK not speaking a word of English. Ages months later they are full of chat. At the same time their local contemporaries are still on 'what your name'
  4. These days Cambodians for me 100% I remember visiting Siem Reap in 2004 and not a word of English could be found away from the hotels. One generation later it's hard to find any Khmer who doesn't blabber away in English!
  5. No idea about the 56, suggested it to my BF previously but as it was similar priced to the Raya Surawong at the time we went for it as an old reliable
  6. If you want close to DJ you should choose the D'Varee Diva (Bally Suites) which is over Burger king at the mouth of silom Soi2 or the D'Varee express which is next to GOD 100 meters down the road
  7. On one side the tourists complain about how boring JC is as there is nothing to do but sit, drink and watch the boys play their mobiles On the other side the expats complain when there is entertainment in a bar that it is impinging on their rights to sit, drink and watch the boys play play their mobiles. Who would want to be a bar owner!
  8. I don't think I have ever heard a single Thai say "la gorn" The semi westernised will say bye-bye or good night. Issan folk will simply walk away saying nothing. Same way they end their phone calls without saying goodbye!
  9. John and Pikky from cupidol have opened Pikky bar. It is a beer bar (not Gogo) in between Copa and serene and has many ex cupidol and Toyboys boys
  10. Unfortunately TNI is now completely gutted and just 4 walls. Of course there is still TNI in Bangkok on Rama 3 if you fancy a night out. For me Sinlapin is about the same as TNI. But has the advantage if being over to south Pattaya and closer to the boys homes and workplaces
  11. There was a bar called Khun Sweet Cigar?
  12. Doesn't look particularly fancy in the day time. But very brightly lit at night! The old entrance to lucky boys is also still operating
  13. They were open in the new premises last night (Saturday) There is a fancy new main entrance on the side street that runs between patpong soi 1 and 2
  14. At that time BKK is only getting going! Silom soi 2 is open for at least another hour. GOD for 2-3 hours. Plus the club in. Banana club is still welcoming customers, so don't go home to early! As others have posted there are also plenty of guys around the 7-11 at wall Street and silom road at 1am also
  15. He's still here alive and well aren't you Billy!

    Cruising

Dusit and Royal Garden were definitely cruising spots back in the day but no longer Buddha mountain still has an active crusing spot across the street and slightly uphill from the police box it's not the kind of place to bring a fat wallet!
  17. I find that Khmer guys tend to spin more elaborate stories than the Thais. Thai: can you help me pay my rent Khmer: my mother is in hospital, my boss never paid me for the last 3 months and my passport was stolen by a farang, can you help me pay my rent Neither are scams, just more elaborate stories to pull at our heartstrings in the hope of a helping hand
  18. I think all of the above can be condensed to: There is a very small minority of farang that try to manipulate the boys and treat them badly, we all know that. There is also a very small minority of boys that try to manipulate farang to do their bidding. I see this day in day out on Facebook where the same guys try to guilt trip some unlucky guy into doing what ever it is they require. Similarly I have seen them play mind games on the gay apps and throw a hissy fit when they don't get their way. Either was both camps are best avoided!
  19. Bar boys from the South East Asian neighbors of Thailand
  20. So many crazy boys on hornet that try to manipulate farang customers using this technique. In my experience it's something that the non-Thais tend to do more than the Thais. Just ignore him, especially when he starts threatening self harm as you don't love him etc etc. I had it twice in April
  21. Sorry this won't help your social anxiety. But they probably are judging, it's what gay queens do!
  22. My mate from HK is visiting BKK at the moment. Has to do 3 days quarantine on his return, which is not too bad

    Poppers

I caught Mono/EBV around 10 years ago and had similar symptoms to yourself. My doc didn't think that it was possible for a guy in his 30s to catch it as most "normal" people catch "kissing disease" when they are in their teens but that's what the blood tests showed up. Perhaps (like me?) you were too busy being a nerd or closet boy when in your teens to get caught with mono. Also back on their subject of poppers, they do tear the throat out of you when huffed persistently so it could have helped cause damage that helped the infection get hold Finally it seems that the gay Thailand forums have an obsession with bacterial infections due to rimming. Completely unlike other similar forums, where this is never mentioned, I grant that the SEA diet is different to most countries, but it does seem like rimming gets an unfair deal on the gay Thailand forums!
  24. Dragon Man Club is in North Pattaya near Hollywood Disco and the old Tumnan Issan premises It was previously G-Star and prior to that Muze and Idol and probably a few other incarnations. It is similar to NAB and other gay clubs with a DJ interspersed with Coyotes, a floor show and "models" most nights Dragon lounge is in Jomtien Complex, next door to Sun Bar. They are supposed to be opening a new club on the upper floors of that premises in the coming months
  25. Guilty as charged. Unless he is referring to his BF!
