To be honest, and in my opinion, I wouldn't mind a little more cashless alternatives in Thailand. To be able to use the QR code payment system/PromptPay, one must have a Thai bank account, and there are too many hurdles to jump through to open one as a tourist in Thailand. I would like to see the QR code system modelled like China's Alipay/WeChatPay whereby you can link a foreign credit card to the app. This would save time in needing to go to ATMs or cash exchange places, or worrying about needing to change bigger bills into smaller ones. Of course, cash would still be necessary for tipping purposes, but for things like restaurants, street food stalls, check bin at a bar etc., I think a cashless payment alternative would be great. That being said, I have used a credit card in bigger department stores and I think restaurants too. Where I live, I hardly use my credit card as I can use ApplePay where I just need to hover my phone over the point of sale terminal. I don't think ApplePay is available in Thailand though.

It will involve a bit of walking though.. are you sure?

They have balconies. Small ones which they call 'standing room only' and also larger ones (more expensive).

This time bit different - trip to Thailand in August 2024

Can you choose to sit upstairs? Or is it only used when downstairs is full? -
Call me "woke" or whatever, but if someone said this to me in conversation, I would be instantly turned off.

When Dreamboy was in that location, they made the pillar work. Anyway, whatever venue they are in (the current or the rumoured new), I will definitely still visit!

Jetstar opens Perth base, launches new Bangkok route

7 hours in an A321 doesn't sound particularly appealing. At least Thai Airways have started flying the PER-BKK route again. -

I will be there during the high season to contribute my support! Thanks for your reporting @vinapu, always enjoy hearing your adventures. -
He already has!

A couple of faux pas on my behalf.. 1. I needed to travel from A to B, but for some reason I booked the flight from B to A. It was too late when I realised, so I had to forfeit that one, but luckily it was only a short domestic flight. 2. I was holidaying in multiple destinations, therefore multiple flights, so I put all of the departure/arrival information into a self-made itinerary (word document) so I could see it all clearly. The majority of the information was correct, however I accidentally entered the departure time, in this word document, from city A as the arrival time of city B. I only realised my mistake when I was on my way to the airport. oops. I ended up just extending my holiday. So yeah, I check everything very very carefully now.

As I've mentioned in the past, I will very gladly take all tattooed boys!

I can only speak for Kman, but I went there once without a prior booking and the manager showed me who was available (and on the premises) on the tablet. I lucked out because the boy I chose gave me a great time.

I did something no sex tourist has done before (maybe)
ichigo replied to abidismaili's topic in Gay Thailand
Yes! I did this a few years ago, walked from boyztown to jomtien and then later back again. I remember it being quite hot and sweating out of every orifice imaginable. Haven't done it again since, but haven't really thought about it. Maybe next time! -
Oh no.. now you've put this idea in my head for my next trip 😅

That's right, I remember that now. I remember going to the main shop and the lady at the front asked if I want a boy massage and when I said yes I was told to go down the small alley to the side where the other shop was. Seems like the 'main shop' is now a barber (google map street view).
-
Thanks for this. I came here about 5 years ago, and looks like it is still in the same place. I thought they had closed permanently. Anyway, glad to see that there is another massage place for us, and recalling my last visit, extras were definitely had.

Dreamboys is also my favourite bar and most attended, mainly because my favourite works there. I always seem to be served by the same mamasan also. Last time I was there (January this year) I felt like there wasn't that much choice in boys and the quality had gone down, however it seems like it's getting better lately. Thanks for the report!

Great topic! In my day to day life I don't usually eat breakfast, however if the hotel room I booked comes with breakfast, then I'll eat breakfast. I think one of the standouts for me in Silom would have to be Crowne Plaza. Quite an extensive spread catering to western and asian tastes (particularly Japanese).
-
Love it! Quarter Silom is such a gay hotel, even one of my regular bar boys told me the same lol

Very, yes, yes. Ask Vinapu - he has offed him in the past 😉

And if you want more luxurious, the new Dusit Thani will be opening soon!

Great news, thank you!

Does the cute waiter still work there? I would go back for him tbh 😅
