Agree with the others. Interesting and thorough report. Thank you!

Nice boys, it seems. But gee, it's too bad they couldn't find any gay boys to play gay roles. I guess the gay actors are all busy playing straight roles. :-)

I'm confused about the tipping at Golden Cock. I've never been there but quite curious to try my next trip in December. Since there seems to be a lot of,um, "group work," does each guy get a full 1,000 for playing, or have I read somewhere 300-400? Obviously it could get quite expensive with three or four boys. What would you tip if: 1. You fondle and suck in the public area. 2. You fondle, kiss, and suck with one guy in the private area. He doesn't reciprocate. 3. Same as 2 but he does reciprocate. 4. You play with more than one in the private area. No recip 5. You play with more than one and one does suck but the others don't. 6. Same as above, but all "give and receive." I know I'm over-thinking this but just curious how you "veterans" respond.

I've never been to Golden Cock but my reading here suggests the boys there only receive oral but don't give. Am I wrong about that? If you like twinks, Zy massage is pretty reliable for oral service. Not all of them, but most are happy to oblige. The downside is that the place is pretty rundown and the showers are cold. But I'm always happy there, and the Ngam Duphli neighborhood is worth exploring on its own, a bit less frenetic than Silom. I like it. PM me for details, and names, of boys at Zy if you are interested.

Thanks for these very helpful reminders. I've had positive experiences on the apps, but quite limited. I haven't run into the fake photos problem yet, but these posts will make me more alert. Recently I've remade contact with a couple of massage boys who are no longer working in the business, but are happy to stop by my room for a nice 1000 baht short time. That's a nice way to go about it and get someone reliable, but you have to have a way to connect. They seem to like the LINE app.

What's your perfect day and night in Bangkok?
faranglaw replied to AlexThompson's topic in Gay Thailand
Because it's fun! -
Having a feeling you read that the rules were relaxed does not seem to me reason enough to take the risk. But the consequences might turn out to nothing on a domestic flight so maybe it won't matter. It's your choice of course, but why invite trouble when it's easy not to?
-
Why would anyone assume the rules are more relaxed for domestic flights? This seems like a no brainer to me. Assume the most strict rules and pack accordingly. It's not that difficult.

There's a new generation of young Thai gay men since I first visited LOS in 1990. Their values are different. They are not as obsessed with mimicking the West; their cultural self esteem has improved and this means they are attracted to each other more now, and attracted less to us. You can see this on line, where there are far more Asian models for a young Thai boy to emulate. Good for them. This is a very positive development for gay Thais. Can legal marriage, it is to be hoped including immigration rights for same sex couples, be far behind? But take heart! It only takes one at a time to make us happy (or 2-4 if you are numazu).
-
I think it's likely true. Some farang seem to think LOS=Land of Sex, anywhere anytime. Check out the men's room at Chatuchak Park some time. Some guys like the risk of public park sex, and some farang are stupid. Combine the two and anything can happen!

How much would you expect to pay for a bar guy in Pattaya

I lnow. Imagine the indignity of having to blow ME just to get a phone! -

Good advice but there's more to it. He knew the phone was in my bag because it fell out while we were playing. I had scooped it up, put it back in the bag, zipped the bag, and put it on my back. He must have quietly unzipped the bag and taken it while I was going down on him. Multi-tasking. And I am grateful for the memory, the story to tell, and the better phone. -

One day about five years ago, in a weak moment in Silom, I wandered into one of the many cruisy men's rooms in a department store. And there he was, hot sexy little man of my dreams. We ducked into a stall and I got, and gave, a fantastic blowjob. Later, I reached into my bag--cel phone gone! Aaargh, DH will kill me. But he didn't. And I still remember the blowjob, but can't remember the cel phone. -
I wrote about Noh on antoher thread. He is "The Playful." http://www.gaythailand.com/forums/topic/11507-trip-report-with-a-bunch-of-other-stuff-thrown-in/page-2

The book is Imagining Gay Paradise by Gary Atkins. https://www.amazon.com/Imagining-Gay-Paradise-Bangkok-Cyber-Singapore/dp/9888083244

Yes, I know Noh. Sweet, playful, warm. A real favorite of mine too.

I hadn't intended to hijack this thread. I'm loving the stories of a447a. I think I'm in love with his guy too. He sounds very special. The story about buying the shirt (that turned into a whole outfit) was so sweet! Please write more, a447. One suggestion: give your guy a name, like Numazu does.

I have a strong emotional connection to Zy. A boy I met at Babylon, Daeng, worked there. When he died tragically, the mamasan, Khun Su, found his local family and put on a little memorial for him. Unfortunately I was not in Thailand at the time, and did not learn of Daeng's death until Khun Su told me the story a year later. Su is the only person I know who remembers him. Of course life does move on in its lurches and detours and discoveries, and now I have a carnal connection to Zy as well, as the slim smoth young men there are quite hot to us twink lovers. A strange mixture of lust, joy, and grief. So I keep going back.

It's not in Pattaya. It's in Bangkok, on Ngam Duphli, near Pinnacle Hotel.

Racism and corruption can cut in many directions, it seems. Other races suffer from it in LOS more than we do. If it's the other way around, and a money boy is killed by is farang, the depth of the farang' pockets and the status of the money boy make all the difference. A Burmese boy I knew was found dead in the Malaysia Hotel ( sorry to bore those of you who read this story before), and his farang murderer somehow was not charged and went back to his country. One wonders what the going rate is for buying one's way out of a murder charge. One wonders if the bribe is higher if one murders a Thai national. Higher still if it's a middle class Thai who is not a money boy? And then there are those two poor Burmese boys framed for killing the young British tourists on the beach. The evils of the status, money, nationality pecking order know no bounds. Some human beings are treated simply as garbage, but readers of this blog will never fall into that group. The banality of evil, as Hannah Arendt described the Europe of the last century, still very much alive and well.

Lovely story. Thanks for sharing it. I'm curious to know more detail about the various bars and how the boys are treated by the management and the mamasans. I often get the uneasy feeling that we are only seeing the bare surface of how badly some of these boys ar treated. In my naïveté for example, I didn't think about the mamasans stealing the boys tips. One wonders about the many possible forms of abuse. And I expect the girls at the girl bars have it even worse. I usually go to Zy Massage because it's convenient and cheap and there are always nice twinks there. Zy seems to be an entry level massage parlor for new boys coming from Lao, Myanmar or up country Thailand. They get shelter and free rent but never seem to be able to leave the place, even for an hour. Mostly they feel reasonably well treated by the bizarre mamasan there, Khun Su. Sometimes they go for extended visits to their families, so when I ask about a particular boy, Khun Su says he went to Lao or Chiangmai Rai or wherever to see family "He come back next month." Eventually they get to know the scene outside Zy and move on, or up, to one of the Silom bars where they can make more money and get their independence back. Or at least, that's my interpretation, but I'm sure there is much more to it than that.

This is a fair comment too. But I don't scream, I just state my success quietly and maybe too smugly. :-) Also I know I'm very very lucky.
