  1. I've experienced 17 to 20% negative change over the past few years. I then realize the change has been harder on my British friends who also have to deal with Brexit undermining the pound to baht rate. From reader's posting above, things will balance a bit better in May. Wait and see.
  2. Sorry for the photo interruption...LOL It's now Friday, when we eventually get out acts together, we spend some time catching up, Van is needing to use some of his time in Bangkok to learn how to service the sewing machines he has purchased for his sewing/manufacturing clothing business in Vietnam. Fine my me as I want to have some massages and see what else will happen. As he is with me long time, I let him know up front that I'll take care of meals and will give him 3000 per night...but only at the end of the visit. I haven't mentioned any of my other payments to the boys I've mentioned, but they have all been within the average amounts mentioned in the forum. We head out to MBK and do some bowling, then off on our separate ways. I go to Banana as I like the place, greeted as an old friend(!) It's mid afternoon, so there is a god selection of boys. Up to the top floor for the lockers and showers. My Thai boy showers with me, full service massage, I like the mirror that allows me to do some detailed observations. I rate it a decent massage and a better than decent - but not exceptional - massage. Make my way via BTS back to Twilight, dinner at Maxi's where there is a meeting of Forum members, PaulSF, Jason1975, and FloridaRob. Van has texted me that he's in the room. When I finish up at Maxi's and wish Jason1975 a good journey home, I head to the hotel. Van and I discuss going to StrangerBar, but decide to spend the time together in the room doing things we like (to one another).
  3. Some readers may recall a topic on the Forum about how the long term boys had a tendency to monopolize the bed. The photo shows Van having his way...
  4. Glad to have PaulSF as our reporter out there on the front line of Twilight!
  5. I didn't mean to report that Screwboys and Hot Male had the same owner. I was suffering from a bit of latent jet lag when I wrote my report about Screwboys. I meant to say that one of the Hot Male staff escorted me from Twilight to Screwboys. Then when I went to Moonlight on a subsequent night, the Hot Male greeter took me there as he wanted them to know I was a good customer and the two clubs have the same owner. That said, I agree with DivineMadman on pricing...and being a coach flyer, I don't resent business class flyers. I'd rather save the money to spend on the boys when I arrive. I think Anbang1961 is spot on about the Chinese holiday period...massive influx of free spending tourists increases prices. Moonlight is experimenting with lots of things...let's see where things are in a month or during the rainy season.
  6. Facebook is Moonlight Bangkok. There are three separate Moonlight Bangkok options. One of them links to the club’s site. Look at the picture and you’ll find it. I think,it’s also the one with some Thai wording.
  7. Just a sort of update...Moonlight has a very active Facebook page and regularly posts some stage actions and model/dancer introductions. It seems from the videos that the staff no loner has to wear the former club's uniforms and (possibly) that staircase that went from center stage to the upper level is gone. Can't be sure of that.
  8. It’s now Sunday, tomorrow I’ll be in Koh Samui, so time for some personal housekeeping, a trip to MBK – for me it an indoor version of an outdoor market. Then off to Spa Bangkok – working on using up my four pre-paid massages. Today, the masseur is Wit. Very formal massage, very good massage, some touching allowed, but nothing more. Wit does shower with me at the end. I mention this later to DivineMadman who indicated that was a first as he hadn’t experienced anything similar. We had met up at Maxi’s along with PaulSF. I went off to DreamBoys! I made a reference to this visit in another Forum Report expressing some unhappiness – and had a bit of feedback. I went up the stairs about ten minutes before the show was to start. I seemed to be the only farang in the room, the club was about 50% full (Sunday night). Almost everyone else was Chinese, 60% male, 40% female. The pre-show parade of boys was taking place when I entered and I saw one or two that interested me. However, what really caught my attention was happening in the Chinese male section where a boy was called over, usual discussion, and he went and got dressed. When he returned, he found that his “sponsor” had found someone else and sent him back – I did not see a tip pass between them. The boy complained to the mamasan who spoke with the Chinese group’s guide/leader) Seemed to be seems argument which the mamasan did not win. The guide had brought 40 or more to the club that night…. Later, one of the women decided she wanted to off the guy who was turned away, the mamasan brought him out, he saw she was with the guide and made an objection to the mamasan and walked away. Very messy… Decided, the vibe wasn’t right, so I went to the hotel and packed for my 6am departure. Noting in my journal that while it was great to meet up with so many Forum members, my private activities had been a loss. I was in Koh Samui for two days, celebrating a decades old friendship with friend from London, who had worked in Hong Kong for 15 years and bought a small beach side house which they have been enlarging and enhancing over the years. Had a wonderful time. The Samui airport reminded me of the Kona, Hawaii airport some years back with its openness to the breeze. Bangkok Air flight full, after landing at BKK, I think the plane parked as far away from the terminal as possible, then almost a 20 minutes bus ride. It was still early, so I decided to try the airtrain to the BTS. Thanks, Vinapu and others who have described it and its workings. It was easy to navigate. Van had sent me a text in the morning that he’d be in Bangkok around the time I’d get back. At about the same time PaulSF, who knows Van, knows that he used to work at HotMale, and knows that Van is a Viet, sent me a message that here had been a crackdown in Twilight and Soi 4 as well as where Screwboys was located to keep anyone not Thai from working. Some back and forth, Van arrives at the hotel with two very cute, yound Viets. He had asked if they could join us for dinner – feed the hungry, I guess. We went to Balcony where I learned the guys were looking for work in a gogo. Van, always attentive and a bit of a procurer, asked me if I wanted to off one or both, I said no, tonight was with him. I’m pretty sure that was what he wanted to hear. We then went to Maxi’s. Van didn’t think was any reason to worry about the police as he was on a real travel visa. We both took out passport with us. Me up with PaulSF and Jason1975 and had a good time catching up with what had taken place over the three days I’d been away. PaulSF and Van checked in on what had happen to several of the Viet boys who had worked in the “business”. Van called one on Facetime who was in Vietnam so I could say hello. Jason1975 mentioned the clubs he’d been to…I recommend his reports. We talked a bit about Moonlight. We also learned that the police crackdown wasn’t just of the male go go’s but also shut down the women’s businesses. Reader would report later that guys were exiting one massage parlor through the back windows when the police arrived at the front door. Tonight seemed pretty tame…there were a number of Viet boys around paying tribute to PaulSF and saying hello to Van. I ask Van if he wanted to see the show at Hot Male and say hello to his former mamsan, he was up for it so off we went saying good night to PaulSF and Jason 1975. As I mentioned much earlier in my reporting, when I’d been at Hot Male for the other night, I was very interested in one of the coyotes, but he had been offed. Didn’t see him when we arrived, but he was in the first number when the show began, he was then called to sit with someone. Damn! So, while the show was underway, I kept one eye on the stage and the other on #010. At some point, his “host” gave him some baht and left. #010 went back to the stage. I asked the mamasan to call him over, after being assured that he was Thai, gay, and did everything. Van, is amused, reminding me I’d passed on his friends a few hours back. #020 comes over and is tall, swimmer’s build, kisses with his hello. We negotiate, then I negotiate with Van. He’s fine, he’ll hang out at Hot Male and visit, then head to the hotel and play on the internet in the lobby until I give the ok to come up. #020 gets dressed and we head to the hotel. Best way to describe it without too much detail is that it was a really great encounter. He did do everything, and I did as much, and a bit more than I thought possible. At some point showered and I waked him to the hotel lobby and said goodnight. Van then joined me and we went upstairs. My second visit to Bangkok was off to a very fine start.
  9. While I slept soundly, I was up early and decided to explore the outer edges of Chatauchak Market before the sun and crowds were out in full force. Spend maybe 90 minutes browsing and picking up some things to go in my emergency “need a gift “for a thank you or a birthday stockpile at home. Decided to go to Prime for today’s massage and took the two-hour foot and Thai special. Usual Prime top-notch service as long as you are able to stand the pain. No offers of special services. Nap…then time for dinner at Maxi’s. Met up with DivineMadman, PaulSF, and Reader. I left the group to check out Maxi’s. My guide to Screwboys last night, walked me over to let them know I was a good customer of HotMale (which has the same owner). I reviewed what I saw in the Moonlight topic of the Forum, so I won’t repeat myself. However, I will note that Moonlight has developed a better than average Facebook page that features the guys. Seems to be more boys than when I was there and from the videos maybe the center stage stairway has been removed? I went back to Maxi’s and visited with PaulSF and company. From where we were sitting at Maxi’s, we could see the boys on stage at FreshBoys. Out group was breaking up, so I allowed a Vietnamese boy to lure me in for the midnight show…I was the only one in the audience and there were four boys on stage, twice as many waiters, and a Mamasan. Lots of attention! But no show – waiting on customers! I offered the Viet who had lured me in, good English, very attractive face, and body. Back at the hotel – a dud! We renegotiated the tip and said goodbye. I send a text Van (see previous reports) who is now living and working in Vietnam. He agreed to join me next week for a few nights. Well, something to look forward to.
  10. Price fluctuates depending on time of year and demand. Last month, I paid $70 USD per night with breakfast for 2. Definitely check various booking sites as they usually vary a bit. I booked with Agoda.
  11. This report is for a visit than ended almost two weeks ago. All my good intentions to report were buried by procrastination and deciding that I needed to focus on my taxes. Finished the taxes – and so, will start fulfilling my obligations to the spirit and policing of Vinapu – the non-official report encourager. I celebrated Lunar/Chinese New Year in China with a family of friends. I headed back home for month end chores and early March meetings that I can but shouldn’t / didn’t skip. So four transpacific flights in three weeks, two very close together. Figure my body will just be confused. Left San Francisco on March 7th. United Flight, premium economy, window seat for me and rest of row empty. On time to Tokyo where it was seriously raining. Switch to ANA for flight to Bangkok. Rain delayed the incoming flight that was to transport me (and two hundred others). At the ANA gate, my name was called, and I was upgraded to business class. Nice, sort of compensation for arriving too late at night / too early in the morning to get to Twilight or Screwboys. ANA has a decent business class service, I can’t figure out where in the galley they can put all the food options they offer. Then again, the food’s taste was somewhat bland. Arrived BKK, business class is let out first (I hate this when I’m in coach (but am happy to get on my way early to immigration). Being in Business Class provided an access pass to the expedited lane…I would have used it anyway as I am now old enough to meet the requirement. This was helpful, as my delayed flight arrived along with three jumbos from China and once I was through the priority lane (6 minutes) and in the baggage area, I could see the immigration lines just stretched and stretched. My suitcase was one of the first to hit the conveyor belt and I went and grabbed a taxi. 425 baht later I was at the Tarntawan. I had made several attempts to book at The Raya but was told nothing was available. So, I went back to the Tarntawan, checked in, and went out to see what was happening…it was 3:30am, so not much happening. Saw one cute guy having a street meal with two girls. We eyeballed one another but I decided it wasn’t the moment and continued walking. And, after walking and return to where he had been sitting, he and the girls were gone. Went to hotel, took a shower, went to bed. Left SFO on a Wednesday afternoon, it’s now early Friday! Get up, notice the internet is spotty (somehow it improved dramatically and stayed strong for the rest of the visit). The carpet in the room is disgusting, one’s mind imagines what the spots represent… Breakfast, say hello to the housekeepers, and out for exploring, Whoops! It’s raining buckets. New Tarntawan doesn’t have umbrellas in the room like the Old Tarntawan…but the bellman, doorman, total factotum finds one for me. It’s about 11am, stop at Cutey and Beauty for a haircut and some gossip. Not much hair to cut and little gossip to be had. Back through the rain to the hotel, contact PaulSF on where/when we are meeting tonight). Pull out my printout of DivineMadman’s guide to massage. He is very positive on SpaBagkok. It has a membership fee and while it becomes economical if one is going to be in Bangkok over time, it can be an expensive if that’s not possible. Anyway, I’ll be here for three days now and, after a short Bangkok break, back for a week, so why not try it out. Spa Bangkok is in the same complex as Arena, DivineMadman recommends contacting the staff in advance using Line. I couldn’t make it happened, so as the rain had stopped, I walked over figuring if no appointment was possible Arena was two flights up. Well, an appointment was possible, I was issued my membership card, and was introduced to Joe who is young, cute, and dressed in the SpaBangkok uniform of Thai tied shorts and a t-shirt. I get out of my shoes and into the requisite flip flops which are two small and make going up the stairs to the where most of the massage rooms are located precarious until I take them off and finish the stair win bare feet. The room (and the others I will report on from follow up visits) are well appointed. DivineMadman covers all this so I even attempt to duplicate what is so well put in his report. Joe shows me where the shower is, reminds me of the safe in the room, and leave me alone to change and shower. When I return to the room, there chilled water waiting. Joe massage my feet and then begins the massage. Excellent massage, professional, all the right pressure points. Joe is an expert as “edging” and demonstrates his skills as I proceed to go slightly crazy and then completely crazy as my hands have been able to remove the Thai tie on his shorts. We spent two hours together. Most of it was massage. Afterward, I took a shower alone, returned to the room to find a warm drink and some fruit. It took me some time to come back to the present. Dressed, I met Joe on the first floor, traded the slip on for my shoes, tipped him twice the minimum tip and returned to sunny and humid Bangkok. Stopped at Golden Cock on the walk back, but only the bartender and one other boy who was full occupied with a patron. Waved and said I’d be back. Took a two-hour nap, then headed to Maxi’s for a meet up with PaulSF, and DivineMadman. Later, we were joined by Reader. I could not have asked for a better trio to catch me up on what was happening, what was coming and all sorts of other things Three great guys, note to Reader, who I had not meet on previous trips, it was great meeting you and being able to tell you how much your postings kept me current with what was changing in Bangkok. From here I went to Hot Male for the evening show, I generally make this one of my first stops. The scout / grabber in the soi told me there would be fucking show tonight as did the two mamsans who seated me in the center in the second row. The full show, as there was a crowd, there was a full show…small crowd = short show. Crowd mostly Asian with maybe 30% being female. The fucking show was very gymnastic and pitched to the females. I liked one of the coyotes but was told he had been offed. So, when I exited the downstairs grabber asked where I was going, I said Screwboys and he found someone to escort me (!). Full service, I guess. Lots and lots of boys at Screwboys, more than 30. I very much liked one, but the mamasan told me he was straight. She recommended a Cambodian boy. We did some negotiations and went to the Tarntawan. It was very so so – he had a very small cock and while he was very willing, there was not of electricity. We showered together and he departed. Short time fee of 2000 – seems to be the going rate.
  12. Last month, the Raya was un-bookable. So, I returned to the Tarntawan. While I plan on putting my observations in my very delated trip report, I want to agree and dissent somewhat from comments above. I did not have any barging into the room...then again, I am an early riser even after a late night (I depend on post massage naps for the missing hours of slumber). I did have the experience of being told the cleaner would be right back and not seeing the room made up after I returned many hours later and having to call the desk. Also, on my next to last day, the cleaners were no where to be found and a young women who was dressed more as a manager cleaned my room (quickly) in the afternoon.
  13. Great bar...happy anniversary!
  14. Imenard, Thanks for mentioning the video feed on Facebook.
  15. Interesting statistics...I suspect anyone sitting at Maxi's around 9:30pm and witnessing the stream of Chinese tourists (with guide) going to Dreamboys will not be surprised. Wondering if this influx is equivalent to when the Americans (I'm one) hit Europe in the the 50s and 60s and earned the name "ugly Americans"... Personally, I think its good for China to allow its citizens to travel...not only to help other economies but to visit places without the heavy thumb of censorship on the news and internet.
  16. Caught the show Saturday, Hula Hoop guy stole the show.
  17. Airport train runs 6am to midnight.
  18. Reader It was good met you in person and be able to tell you how much I enjoy your posts. I’m of an age that I saw Murray Head in Chess sing “One Night...”
  19. Sky train to BTS to Sala Daneg is about 75 THB and takes an hour. A taxi is minimum 350 THB and time is minimum 35 minutes - assuming traffic flows. On Wednesday with similar times I chose the sky twin option. I only had carryon. If you have luggage could be some issues transitioning at stations.
  20. Moonlight has an entrance fee which includes one drink.
  21. Thanks, PaulSF for being out man on the soi ! It will be interesting to see how the next few days develop. I just got back from Koh Samui and was planning on being at Maxi’s tonight and seeing a show. Probably will postpone as I’m with a Viet boy - not a working boy now, but there might be trouble. On the May 1 wall...wonder what will happen with Dreamboys!
  22. I’ll be meeting a regular tomorrow. Over the last three years we have come to an understanding that I will be with others as well as him. If I’m interested n someone while with him, he will happily approach them with my interest. He once found someone I’d been interested in but lost contact with and brought him around for “negotiations” after I’d mentioned I’d like to see the boy.
  23. DivineMadMan, I didn’t read your comment as a piling on...as we’ve discussed face to face I’m comfortable with a cover charge for a big well populated show and that’s definitely a description of Dreamboys. I’ll pay the going rate next year to se the line up. There was more going of the night I went between some of the customers and the boys and the working of the “off” process. While the world will have to wait for my trip report, it was These interactions that caused my giving the impression I might no return to Dreamboys.
  24. drink price on Sunday was 550 THB. I was the only farang there. I think of the price as the cost of a cover charge for a big show with a drink as a bonus. After seeing the show, not sure this theory of my will get me there again.
  25. When Jupiter departed for its new location, the club space became Boys+66. Recently, it was taken over by the owner of Hot Male. I’d heard it was to be called Hot Boy...instead, for whatever reason, its now called Moonlight. I went over this past Saturday for the 10:15 show. 400 THB admission which includes one drink. Layout is the same as it was when Jupiter was there. Boys on stage are in Boys+66 red shorts, waiters also in Boys+66 black shirts. Waste not, want not! Recycling? Only 8 boys in the rotation, one stunner, one who looked liked he’s never seen a gym. Coyotes in the show were excellent and two of the numbers were well staged and lit. The diva singer was also a standout. One of the boys from the lrotation had a solo lip synch dance number and got lots of applause. After a 20 minute break, there was a big cock (condom controlled) show. During the break the stunner did not return as he’d been offed. Now down to 7... Place was half full downstairs. And, there seemed to be a crowd upstairs - I couldn’t check but saw two sizeable groups heading up the stairs. Mixed audience, I was only faring, about 30% female but might have been more as it was groups of women I saw going upstairs. There’s potential here; and, actually, the show seemed more put together than the show I saw at Hot Male the night before. I’ll be writing a full trip report once I get home...but PaulSF suggested something posted now about a new club would be good to have on the Forum.
